It's actually by VIN a Ford Cobra, Torinos have different VIN codes. So it's a Cobra based of the Fairlane line. Easy mistake if you don't know these cars.
I learned to drive on one of these in '72, my dad's '69 Torino 428 Cobra 4 speed. Scared me to death at the time lol. It didnt have a scratch and less than 20k miles, I really miss that car and I am not a Ford guy.
I would love to watch a quality build/rebuild of that Torino. So cool. Something similar to Graveyard Cars. When cleaning out the car, you have to wonder why someone would put those items in the car to protect or save them???
Why would you move it when it’s loaded with junk ? I guess it didn’t cross your mind to pull it backwards onto the trailer either . The only thing you didn’t ruin was the Cobra emblems on the fenders. If it’s the real deal it should have a 31 spline axles in that 9 inch .
You can tell when people have no clue what there looking at. A ford guy can tell it’s a 69 from 200 feet away, Just for starters it’s screaming 69 with its 3 hash mark moldings on the roof sides , a. 68 has five we
scrap value. People fill the car with junk, it gets weighed and people get paid per pound. I've seen assholes take in trashcans of copper wire with steel bricks in the bottom and copper covering them to get big money on copper that isn't really there. Another reason, is someone thought the car was trash, so they filled it full of more trash.
2 years from now. Mecum, all original 1969 Torino Cobra Jet, all original numbers matching , all original body panels , original paint .
So he said he found a new home for it. Is someone going to actually try and restore it? That would be awesome and HARD, and I love the idea of it.
That car is in good shape for the shape it's in said no one ever.unless they find the 428 engine then you may have something.
Was a nice car at one time, now cracked in half .
Saving the unsavable!
I had a 68 Torino GT Fast back , when I was in my early 20 tys , That was a great car 4 on the Floor ,yup ,.
I bet that car was a beast!👍
