  • In this second episode of Haflong Talks, I sat down with Dr. Ronald Bathari and Dpak Borah who are juggling multiple careers based out of Haflong. Ronald Bathari is a medical health officer at Haflong Civil Hospital and a musician. Dpak Borah works as a pharmacist in his family owned pharmacy in Haflong and is also a musician and music producer.
In this episode we talked about the present state of Haflong Civil Hospital, the local music scene in Haflong, their opinion on the state of education which was a continuation of the previous topic of Haflong Talks. It was great hanging out with them and getting to know their views. And at the end of it, it also got me thinking-

It's true there is a lot of change in Haflong. But still more to be changed.Firstly salary by which we middle class family survive, education system at Haflong. As I think there some parents who can't afford the fees of private schools so if da teachers and education system of Govt Schools and College is little better than it will be a great help for some of us.As Dr Ronald said about cleanliness it's very important. If we all inhabitant of Haflong think and move towards cleanliness than our Haflong will be more beautiful,Hospitals yes now there are good doctors but regarding cleanliness it's very bad n it's our fault as we think Sarkari hospital hai Kiya hoga choro but in private hospital the scenary is different. Why reason money & our thinking. So it's should be changed. and lastly roads it's should be better. Thanks Daniel that you always go for da better .Thanks Dr Ronald ur way of thinking for betterment of Haflong.Hope each and everyone understand.God bless both

Dr. Ronald bathari said a very crucial point about road ways improvement & i guess its must an important issues that should be resolved as soon as possible. I bet if in haflong transportation system gets improves our development process will also gradually increase & it will save time, cost, money.

'We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, "O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?" Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?'
This session on education, inspiration, music and arts as a whole somehow reminded me of this scene

Our People's mindset needs to be hacked which will encourage them to do good deeds(not the otherwise) only then I feel that a total change can happen and further a positive example will be set and people around the world will also learn from this....I also feel that people fear to come out of their comfort zones which makes them lazy, procrastinate things etc....this creates a set back towards change. This is just my opinion that I have shared and I think this just a tiny challenge among many of them.....I have to say Daniel da hats off to you and people around can too learn from you and instead of questioning others why don't we question ourselves that "Why can't I be the first change must?".....
