Your message about bringing us a Midnight Quilt Show-esque series just makes my day! I hope you know how much we all missed that and are so happy you are doing your own. Yay!!!!! Thanks, Angela. Hope you and your family are doing well.
I’m so happy you’re doing your MQSish again! We’ve missed your style and sense of humor. I’ve probably watched each of those shows five times and I been waiting to see more! Can’t wait!
So glad to see you Angela. I stopped hand quilting because of hand mobility issues. The Midnight Quilt show gave me the courage, motivation, inspiration and knowledge to begin quilting on my domestic machine. Can't thank you enough.
Thank you, Angela! You really take my mind off the pandemic as you simultaneously help me improve my quilting with tons of encouragement. One thing I love about rulers is I have very few tension/skipped stitch/thread nest issues while using a ruler.
Your midnight quiltvshows were so inspiring. I found your freemotion quilting recently and they are making me want to try to quilt my own quilts. This looks amazing too, thank you. Glad you are back x
Sooo friggin' excited to see you back on my screen 😍 🥳🤪 !!!!! Can't wait to see the 'Midnight Quilt Show-esque' 🍷, Angela produced 😎🤬😜, awesomeness that's coming our way; it's sure to be a blast 💥 !!!! Congratulations on the new venture 🎉 ❤️
Midnight Quilt Show is what got me to start quilting so I'm SO PUMPED you're coming back!!! Quick thread question...I have a TL Juki 2010q and I LOVE to FMQ on it. I have been using Aurifil 50wt cotton thread for all piecing and quilting. Just wondering if there is another thread you would recommend or prefer. TIA and I'm so glad you're "not quiet" anymore...missed you so much, Angela!
Super jealous you got that machine. I had every intention of getting one, but was hoping the price might come down. Then Covid hit, they were sold out in a jiffy, and now all stuff from USA gets added a hefty import & duty fee from Amazon so I am never going to be able to get one. Kicking myself every day. ~Diana K.
It is so good to see you again Angela. I am looking forward to this challenge. I participated in the HQ Ruler of the month and have lots of different rulers to try out. I am so looking forward to your new quilting series.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your videos on Craftsy and UA-cam I have watched many of them several times. Your constant encouragement while I am quilting has made me confident to try quilting myself. I finished a placemat for my mother in law, two Minecraft quilts for my grandsons and I am now working on a sampler quilt for my granddaughter. I have your slim and your clamshell ruler. I can use the slim, but I am having a lot of trouble with the clamshell. I can free motion pretty well, I can do ribbon candy and allover loops and flowers and I can use the straight ruler for dot to dot quilting and outlining. I am looking forward to this class to improve my skills.
You give the ones your not totally happy with to loved ones they won’t know the problems. That’s what I’ve learnt from you Angela. So happy to see you again.
Hi Angela , I've been straight line quilting but have moved into stippling , and now i'am moving on to ruler quilting I have some of your rulers and I am so excited to learn to quilt with them .You make it look so easy and smooth but I will need to practice ,practice, practice ,practice, and practice some more. Love your tutorials . Thanks so much
Absolutely love you’re videos. They are very helpful and gave me the courage to try quilting. I have an old Bernina 930 which I love but they don’t make a ruler foot for it and I tried the darning foot and it doesn’t work. What else could I do.?
About rulers that are slipping while quilting ... the best thing I've found to help them grip is to use those 'polk-a-dot" sticky thimbles on the back of the ruler. They have a slim profile so they don't get in the way vertically and they are tiny enough around so they don't get in the way of the ruler markings. But of course if you are trying to slide the ruler around 'freely' then you will have to put a tiny bit more effort into sliding them around. Personally I love them, especially on curved rulers, they are way better than anything else on the market that I've found.
This is going to be so good, I recently bought rulers have been practicing, but not very good at it. I bought Westalee, but have your little Archie ruler. Do you ship to Canada? I have watched you for a while now and enjoy you and your shows very much.
Hi Doreen, just mentioning that Angela's rulers, and other rulers designed for FMQ, are available at most Quilt Stores, Brick & Morter and on-line, in Canada. Shipping is much less if you buy from home!
This is the first time doing a quilt along, and I’m loving the lessons from today. Thanks so much. I’ve finished the blue part but have some open ends on the bars as I returned in the other direction. I’m thinking I need to go back and quilt around each square. Also, the handout says to do the small white and blue areas on the side border, but your quilt picture has curves in the blue. Should we still do the straight line in the blue like the handout? Is everyone straight lining the blue and whit borders around the spiral square?
So glad to see you! I started long-arming about a year ago. Love your rulers, btw! I have a fairly new long arm machine and have noticed my ruler foot is not symmetrical. The quarter inch is narrower from the back. Is this something I should replace or is it normal?
Angela- Remind viewers to subscribe to this UA-cam channel ! I watch all your videos, and this time I noticed you have 119K subscribers. I thought “I’m amazed that number isn’t higher”... until I noticed that *I* wasn’t even subscribed! Of course I immediately did, but if you remind viewers in your videos, your numbers could go up and up! Love all that you do, looking forward to the next video. ~Diana K.
This is the first time I am doing one of your quilt-alongs. What do I need to have ready before your first lesson on September 28? I purchased your whole kit and will be looking for it to arrive.
Angela? Could you tell us for each section what colour thread (for those you bought it with the kit from you) you are using? It would help me immensely.
Hi! I was just wondering how you made your design board that you have on your wall at home. (The white fabric you put other fabric on). And how you get it to stick and come off easy when it's on a wall?
Hi Angela - I have a Tiara III but my machine doesn't sit quite flush in its table. It's just shy of ¼" above my table, so when trying to use a ruler, it doesn't sit flat. Any ideas on what I can do to remedy this so I can quilt with rulers?
Have a sit-down juki long-arm, will these tutorials apply? Have found very little info relating to sit-down, and that only showed working on small piece of fabric, nothing on manuevering an entire quilt and ruler quilting
I bought a straight line ruler, but ran into trouble figuring out where to set the height of the ruler; how high above the quilt sandwich. It did not help that I was working on a rather large quilt on my small domestic machine. Looking forward to learning from you.
Brit Eddy I slide a credit card under the ruler foot when in down position then tighten. Test to see if you can slide sand which if not raise foot a bit.
So I got the panel and the set of 4 quilting rulers on your site from CG. (Slim.. archie.. shorty, squiggly) are there any other rulers that I need? Or are there any other rulers that you’ll be using that I don’t have yet? 😂
I have a Viking Epic 2, the Westalee low shank ruler foot for my machine and your templates. I was practicing today, finally, and the bobbin thread stitches perfect and then all of a sudden it stops. I am using 50 wt Aurifil cotton, 80 quilting needle. Please advise. I love your tutorials!!!
I’ve never done one of your challenges before. I ordered the panel from your shop already. Is this panel just a “printed quilt“ in order for us to practice on or do I actually need to piece these together into a quilt to practice on for the quilt along?
Jessica Pierson yes, the panel is printed to look like a quilt! If you ordered the borders you’ll have to add them to the panel, but otherwise, you are good to go!
Your message about bringing us a Midnight Quilt Show-esque series just makes my day! I hope you know how much we all missed that and are so happy you are doing your own. Yay!!!!! Thanks, Angela. Hope you and your family are doing well.
I raise my wine glass to you in thanks and gratitude! Can’t wait to get started!
I’m so happy you’re doing your MQSish again! We’ve missed your style and sense of humor. I’ve probably watched each of those shows five times and I been waiting to see more! Can’t wait!
Aww thanks so much for your support!!!
Angela Walters can you use different color threads on top & bottom on long arm?
So excited! I love your slim ruler it's the perfect size and the one I always reach for. Thank you Angela.
Thanks for doing or thinking of teaching us how to use rulers.
Love you
So pleased your back, your midnight quilt shows were so inspiring ,looking forward to trying ruler work.
Your midnight quiltvshows were so inspiring. I found your freemotion quilting recently and they are making me want to try to quilt my own quilts. This looks amazing too, thank you. Glad you are back x

I have had a long arm for 3 years and never used it! I am super excited to be able to use it! Thank you
Time to dust off the long arm and let's get quilting!! Looking forward to the challenge...it's always more fun with friends! :)
@@summerrose5886 I going to do it!!
WooHoo! Angela is back!
Can't wait. I loved the midnight quilt show. So glad you're back. ❤

I would like to know if there are other good threads too! Sometimes Auroral seems to tighten up and gets curly!😊
Super jealous you got that machine. I had every intention of getting one, but was hoping the price might come down. Then Covid hit, they were sold out in a jiffy, and now all stuff from USA gets added a hefty import & duty fee from Amazon so I am never going to be able to get one. I have binge watched your videos and I just got a new machine and it came with a couple rulers. I am so excited to see you on utube again! Thank you.
It is so good to see you again Angela. I am looking forward to this challenge. I participated in the HQ Ruler of the month and have lots of different rulers to try out. I am so looking forward to your new quilting series.

Thank you doing this class on rulers.
You give the ones your not totally happy with to loved ones they won’t know the problems. That’s what I’ve learnt from you Angela. So happy to see you again.
OMG!!!!!! Thank you! I was so worried, I miss the midnight quilt show SO MUCH.. and yes my long arm is just sitting there I'm for sure...
Good to see you again Angela 🥰
Great too see you today! I will be quilting on one of the many block of the month quilt tops hanging in my closet. Hint. There are at least 10!
Rulers have so helped me with my quilting. As a beginner for freemotion I find rulers improve my quilting. Your patterns are my favourite
what exciting news. I cant wait for the midnight quilt showish series to begin. I loved them and missed them
So nice to see your face!! Can’t wait to Quilt along with you
Awesome to see you 😀
THIS IS FANTASTIC! Thank you Angela.

Looking forward to joining this challenge from Adelaide Australia! No idea how to use rulers but have bought slim and Archie.
Thank you so much! You’re such a cutie! I love quilting with you!♥️♥️♥️
Welcome back, Angela!
Absolutely love you’re videos. They are very helpful and gave me the courage to try quilting. I have an old Bernina 930 which I love but they don’t make a ruler foot for it and I tried the darning foot and it doesn’t work. What else could I do.?
I’ve done a lot of free motion but, I’m just learning straight line...I’m looking forward to hearing about these rulers.
I missed the Live, never got notification, looking forward to learning this......preference for the wavy ruler....
I loved the last panel/challenge and I look forward to learning more about rulers with this one. Thank you for putting this together :)
I got your rulers for my birthday last year! Now to get started. Thank you for these courses.
I am soo excited for this ruler challenge
Welcome back, missed you Angela! So looking forward to the ruler sessions, and ESPECIALLY the midnight quilter-esque programs
Love you Angela
I bought Silesian foot and ruler at the festival of quilts, UK, in 2018. I can't tell you how many times they have nearly ended up in the bin!
Looking forward to this challenge. Now to get a ruler foot. Thanks!

Great presentation. Looking forward to learning more.
I am making a quilt for granddaughter and want to do all of it. I am looking forward to finding out what I can do. Never quilted
Thanks for sharing your expertise. Have missed your Midnight.

this is great!
Yay looking forward to getting started.
So glad to hear from you! From Greeley Colorado
Love Slim! Sorry I missed the live broadcast. I remembered while I was driving and you had already posted the video by the time I got home.
New room or new shelves? Your background looks lovely.
Sooo, looking forward to troubleshooting my ruler foot.

I love free motion sewing want to learn how to sew with rulers
Lets do it!!!
So glad to see you! I started long-arming about a year ago. Love your rulers, btw! I have a fairly new long arm machine and have noticed my ruler foot is not symmetrical. The quarter inch is narrower from the back. Is this something I should replace or is it normal?
Yeah MQS is coming back woo hoo
Looking forward to learning free motion quilting !

is there a possibility to buy the panel in europe, or the whole package?
This is the first time I am doing one of your quilt-alongs. What do I need to have ready before your first lesson on September 28? I purchased your whole kit and will be looking for it to arrive.
I am new and this sounds great!
Angela? Could you tell us for each section what colour thread (for those you bought it with the kit from you) you are using? It would help me immensely.
Hi from UK
Hi! I was just wondering how you made your design board that you have on your wall at home. (The white fabric you put other fabric on). And how you get it to stick and come off easy when it's on a wall?
Good morning from Carol Roberts .....Australia
I’m working on a Bernini 475, is this a class I can join?
Will your instructions be good for mid arm quilters too?
Found them
Hi Angela - I have a Tiara III but my machine doesn't sit quite flush in its table.
One question I have for your next live video, I tend to push the ruler over with my ruler foot what am I doing wrong
Carol Gonzalez Thank you! I will try this tip.
What batting do you recommend for ruler work?
Do I need to buy all the rulers before the challenge starts?
Angela! I have missed you!! KC?
Kansas City, Missouri...where she's from :)
I tend to wander away from the ruler foot. Any hints on how to avoid it?
So I got the panel and the set of 4 quilting rulers on your site from CG. (Slim.. archie.. shorty, squiggly) are there any other rulers that I need? Or are there any other rulers that you’ll be using that I don’t have yet? 😂
ANND I got sid, shelly and taj. i think Im good now. 😂
I have a ruler from Crafty U.K. 'the Snake'
Will wine be involved? Lol🍷🇨🇦
Where can I find your quilt patterns now that bluprint is gone?
Bluprint has turned back into craftsy, I am hoping all the saved items will come back soon.
Is this for a rank beginner? I've never tried free motion quilting
It’s me, it stops stitching with the bobbin thread. Sorry I didn’t explain it thoroughly.
I’ve never done one of your challenges before. I ordered the panel from your shop already. Is this panel just a “printed quilt“ in order for us to practice on or do I actually need to piece these together into a quilt to practice on for the quilt along?
You need to make the quilt sandwich with the panel, batting and backing
Sandra Hernández but the top part of the quilt is put together? The pink and blue and gray etc?
Jessica Pierson yes, the panel is printed to look like a quilt! If you ordered the borders you’ll have to add them to the panel, but otherwise, you are good to go!
Daria Taylor thank you so much!!! 8so excited. Never done this before. 😁
Jessica Pierson, I have done two of her challenges already. I have learned so much and gained confidence too! Plus they are fun!
