      I tune my own stuff, have for years, but I watch things like this and still get ideas on what I might be able to do differently. If it wasn't for guys posting say base tunes one place, then seeing others post about the tuning in others, I wouldn't be where I am. The little things are out there to add up to the big picture - if you look.

    Great stuff!! Just thought I would post my first turbo LS project. 1970 Nova bone stock 6.0 2003 LQ4 (except injectors). Went 11.04 at 121 first time out on 7 psi, no intercooler, pump 94 and drag radials. Did spray windshield washer fluid as a precaution. Pulled 441 wheel hp on dyno. Plan is to bump boost to 10-12 psi and see if it will run a low 10. I think it will get into 10's with slicks on the 7 lb wastegate spring. 120 thousand mile junkyard motor never opened.

    I installed the sloppy stage 2 cam in a 99 ls1 camaro and I have spent the last week playing with parameters to get it to idle correctly. How much timing do you run at idle? I recorded my MAF at 800 rpm to be about 9 g/s of airflow, do I use that number or do i need to modify it before i put it into the table? I set the cranking timing to 9 degrees, but right after it starts up it will either die or swing way down to like 200 rpm and then idle all over the place for 10 seconds and then idle fine after that. The pcm I have seems to be missing a lot of features that are shown in youtube videos.

      Sloppy Mechanics the problem that i have I have 3 set's of return less rail so I will use it .Because I am over budget the parts i already have

      I don't know about the aero motive 340 but the walbro 450 overpowers the vette regulator filter big time. I recently had to get rid of the vette unit as it couldn't hold the pressure under 72psi with the larger pump.

    Hey mat, do you think using 91 octane would be safe at this power level on this engine?

    Outfuckingstanding sir! you never fail to impress. Boosting my 6.0 soon and following most of your guidlines. Only issue is im on a P59 pcm and Im not liking how it cuts my ve resolution by 50% when I switch to a 2 bar OS. Any way around that that you know of? It would be nice to me able to keep the 5kpa resolution. It gets even worse if you try to convert to 3 bar!

    • @SloppyMechanics
      @SloppyMechanics  7 років тому +1

      +Bad Luck Garage you don't need all that resolution you'll be fine

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage 7 років тому

      Thanks for the reply. The 2 bar resolution isn't so bad but if you goto 3bar on the p59 I think you only have about 7 rows left to tune out of boost by the time it compresses to make room. Just seems like that leaves a lot of room for error. I'm only planning to run a 2 bar map sensor but it would be nice if it would "add" the extra boost tables like it does in the earlier pcms instead of compressing to make everything fit in the original rows. Kinda fucks you on the copy/paste after converting too since you can only use every other row from the original tune.

      Sloppy Mechanics will you have to pull back the timing to prevent detonation? Thus lose a little power?
      Unfortunately I can't get the E85 around me that's why I'm curious.
