Holy shit that is *BRUTAL* coil whine. My pny 4090 has some pretty loud coil whine in some specific games but not to this extent. Coil whine should really be a thing of the past, it is extremely easy to fix for the gpu manufacturers but i guess its just another cost they dont want to spend.
They're getting undercut by their own supplier with the FE cards. It's a lot harder to justify extra cost, which is why EVGA is gone from the market now.
Bonjour, j'ai le même soucis que toi sur une Asus rog 4090 elle est neuve elle a commencé à faire se bruit au bout de 2 semaines.. je vais la retourner et l'échanger
Asus TUF 4090 is complete trash for coil whine this gen, never heard a worse coil whine my entire life... RMA'ed it ordered a Gigabyte Gaming OC which has the least amount of coil whine based on all feedback I have read. How companies are allowed to ship scam priced broken POS HW like this is insane.
@@FrankAndreasLia Switzerlands consumer laws are also not bad but coil whine is not a defect its more a design fail which is not impacting the performance. Do you have maybe and idea based on what of your law you have been able to return it so i can check if my law has something similar inside?
I recorded this video while playing Cyberpunk 2077 at about 100-120 FPS. The game or resolution doesn’t really make much of a difference though. Once I put load on the GPU that is greater than a Power Target of about 40%, the screeching begins.
be quiet! Straight Power 11 Platinum 850W. I don’t think it is, but yes, might be the PSU. Before this I had an MSI 3080 Suprim X which was also quite power hungry but only started making noises when it hit several hundred of FPS. This one here starts whining at about 60-100 FPS under load in the same scenarios. Similar like in this example: ua-cam.com/video/Z8xhhFfqDrc/v-deo.html
@@just_tom00 Terrible advice. Another PSU won't change anything. He should return this garbage card while hopefully still within return period, instead of chasing fixes that won't work. There are people who already tested 4090 TUF with multiple PSUs..... it's not the PSU, it's the GPU.
My ASUS TUF OC RTX4090 sounds exactly the same, wrote Asus a Service Request. Answer was: Your Card sounds perfectly fine, you have to expect up to a penetrant room filling noise. WTF i bought my last ASUS Product after over 20 years loyalty. This is the worst Scam, payed 400€ on top for useless quiet cooling an proper selected components 🥴... Bought now a Gigabyte 4090 OC, perfectly quiet a i had expected the ASUS Tuf.
Hey man, good to see you still uploading

This is gonna sound weird bro but i'm from saint clan ut2k4 and went down a nostalgia path. Glad to see you still gaming bro
Thanks for stopping by. Glorious game, great memories.

Did they accept the RMA due to coil whine?
@@12Burton24 Yes. Norwegian Consumer Law is quite strong so I almost never have problems returning anything.

My Asus TUF 3080ti was exactly the same so I sent it back. I also hear the TUF 4080 has it really bad.
Glad I got a Gigabyte Gaming OC.. Not a bit of coil whine at all. Coming from 6900XT red devil (lots of coil whine) I feel much better.
Dumpen or silenced cases may help. Also UV reduced a bit CV.
Been there, done that. The results are not satisfying. Sadge.
I considered my options and I’m going the RMA route. Let’s see what happens.
This is WILD
OMFG this is crazy, For that Price
Is it like this most of the time or only in some situations?
Basically it's like this most of the time. Once it drops below a power target of about 40% the noise fades away.
How high was FPS at Coil Whine

That would drive me up a f*ckin' wall.
my Asus 4090 OC sounds exactly the same
OMG, coil whine from hell. ASUS is the worst brand regarding coil whine in this generation. My PNY 4090 XLR8 is dead silent
What PSU do you have?
Will it have something to do with it?

Talking about ruining a customer's experience. They are desperately trying to push the buyers into the arms of GIGABYTE.
wow this is worse than i thought
Same shit here.... guess I'll think twice before buying an ASUS product in the future
Yep thats exactly what my tuf 4080 sounds like. How to f... that passes quallity control
My 5090 TUF OC sounds the same. Managed to snag a 4090 FE and it has just a small amount of coil whine. Will be returning the ASUS card
ya my fe card was silent.. and it now has a small coil whine.. but cant hear it when you put headphones on :)
FE owner here as well, had a 4080 at first that was silent. Got a 4090 and it has some coil whine. Nothing like this but still disappointing.

Happy to report that the coil whine has practically gone away on my FE 4090

Mine too. Asus is the worst the series.
Horrible et honteux !
1000 fps
I wish. Alas it's more like a hundred fps.
