Turin's Boy's VS Grombi's Royal Dwarf Airforce was the most intense match I've seen all year! I'll watch it again tonight after work and take a shot every time Turin bemoans letting Azhag be chased off the side of the map.
Ive played thousands of hours in total war games but never touched multiplayer. its so cool to have channels like this to experience this other facet of a games series I love as well.
Turin: "okay, we just need to brake those guys" -points at Norgrimlings Ironbreakers 10 minutes later - Turin: "Mighty Ironbreakers gonna be chased off by a bunch of haggard goblins..."
not gonna lie, the cannon crew vs archers battle in the first game (by the way well played Turin) made me kindof want a like arty crew tourny to figure out which arty crew is best in melee. Just some stupid, useless info that might be hilarious to see.
My money's on Chaos Dwarfs for the Helcannon. They're unbreakable and could conceivably get a rear charge and stick long enough to break somebody, or muck up other units.
If fanatics are going to have 3 charges, they should add a "disabled when under 20% health" thing to the ability. It's not even about being strong. Buff the charges if you have to. I just don't think you can hide 12 fanatics in 3 guys. That and fact that the fanatics teleport like a 40k torrent weapon makes me really not like their current state.
Man, while there were a lot of good players in this tournament, my favourite has to be ChillWarlock- such a good sport, which is just as good as being a talented player in my books.
You mentioned your steam friends list being full, if that remains a problem keep in mind that getting a higher steam level will get you more friend "slots. Just stack up on cheap "steam trading cards" for random games and get the levels with the XP you get by crafting these cards into badges. Edit: Oh got already mentioned during the stream, so I'll just keep this here as a reminder :D
That damn dwarf vs ork game had no business being as close as it was after Azagh got chased off so early. What a finish to that match too - it just kept going lol
its funny this reminds me of a a group of friends i have whenever we are at a party they always tell the dj that its my b-day and i`d loved to hear babygirl ^^
Been experimenting with builds a fair bit myself as well since the dlc dropped and came up with something particularly nasty, would be interested to hear some feedback on it. Ork boy frontline , maybe 1-2 fanatics ... at least 5-6 melee troops. 2 foot Archers for support fire, 2 spider rider archers for poison , 2 pumpwagons, 2 black orcs or stone trolls for some added firepower.... and the big surprise gobbo great shaman on catchweb , footgobbo lord for stabbin' and a arachnarok to make it 2 large targets (maybe queen if you cut the budget elsewhere).
When Turin right click drags a unit for formation, it maxes out the width very early, so his units can't become super wide (such as two units thick). How does he do this? Is there a setting that controls that in game?
Turin, I suggested this in the stream today, but you were buuuuuusy with King of the Hill. How about this as an alternative King of the Hill: "Reverse choice, King of the Hill". Each player bans two of the factions they DON'T want to play themselves. Then each player picks, from the remaining options, a faction his opponent HAS to play. (**As an option, have them pick 2 factions, so the opposing player can pick out their "lesser of two evils" choice**) You should get a few of the lesser known factions played that way. Get players off of their comfort pick. And players would get a chance in a tournament setting (with a built-in-excuse if they don't do well) to compete with factions they don't usually play.
**I was trying to figure out if there was a way to organize a tournament with a "once a faction is played, no one can pick it at all" rule. Not sure how that would work, but it would again guarantee faction variety, AND, give players a legitimate reason if they don't do well. Just food for thought. Love your streams, thanks for the entertainment and the really helpful insight to this complicated game!
great match (2nd game in) turin and gromb both made some bad mistakes (which happens in the fevered pitch of battle) but overall very fun match to watch
Can anyone tell me if units can gain chevrons mid game? If so, I'd imagine any buffs would take place during the remainder of that match? Additionally, does this apply in campaign as well as multi? Thanks fam!
I figured I'd ask here, since the release date is coming up: do you plan to buy/play for the channel the Command & Conquer remaster? That series was my childhood, and I hope it does well so we could see a Tiberian Sun and Firestorm remaster too.
i'll never understand why people take orc boar-rider's, the squig-hoppers are just so much better per gold piece. i'm pretty sure the squig hoppers beat them 1v1, and they are much cheaper.
Squiq hoppers are only good against smaller targets they just get wrecked by cav, low entities or anything with a good charge bonus and can route pretty quickly
That Fungi is toxic, and it definitely won you that first game. You ganked his caster and his lord who were both half health and getting away before they were forced into bad situations and killed. I can't imagine how frustrating that would be to play against. Nets are one thing but forcing the enemy to come back to you from range for free is awful.
@@lich109 so incredibly easy to do on large single targets. Artillery, archery, magic... Thats like saying just keep your lord in the woods at the back of the map. Why even bring a lord then? This is a terrible play mechanic. Rampage is not fun, its why they nerfed it on Witch Elves and reworked Lizardmen. An RTS game that removes the S 3 times a match for the most important units on the field.
@@ryanbell1191 You just need to support the Lord, that's all. Give them a bit of a buffer and you'll be fine. Also it has a different threshold for each use, and life magic can ensure you never hit the other two.
@@lich109 I'm not saying it's unbeatable. But it's not a fun mechanic. Its a point and click that vastly changes the game. It's not buffing you're forces or costing winds of magic. It's taking the opponents unit away from them without the opponent making any real mistakes. Now to support your lord you have to commit to a blob fight and most likely sacrifice other units. The GS player just gets to dictate the battle and your only option is to stay way the hell away. Yup sounds fun. Or the GS player just waits until the late game when there is less support on the field and gets your lord isolated by essentially moving your units into his without any real cost to himself. Watch the first Battle again, the other player was getting away both times with the Caster and Lord. Then both got rampaged to death. Sure there were other mistakes but I'm not a fan of an opponent moving my units. Snares are one thing because the opponent still has to come to you or have missile fire in play. This is literally just taunting a vital unit and you can stand still while it comes to you. R4755 I just don't think GS needed something like that. All their other buffs are clearly more than enough.
@@ryanbell1191 How fun it is or isn't is subjective, and you can say the same thing about Effigy + Foot which deletes any unit (aside from characters and monsters) you want without any counterplay. You also don't need to commit to a blob fight, a single unit of... anything at all will stop the character from going down. By the way, having your character separated from the rest of your army is a huge mistake regardless of the matchup, so I don't see why you think it isn't. If the Greenskin player waits until the late game to do it and that's when you lose your lord, then that means you messed up earlier in the battle and they were coming out ahead anyway. I don't mind it because it's in the same vein as stuff like snares, Prey of Amanth Rema + Waywatchers for example is much more efficient at killing characters than the mushroom, and it has even less counterplay.
Are iam the only one who thinks that eshin triads are kinda bad? They sound good on paper but perform mostly poorly. I think they need a bigger unit size

In the first Bilbo game against Sooth, set the playback speed to 1.5x and you will be fine with the lag:)
He could have killed the dwarfs but his flank was a massive fail half the archers weren’t fighting

Didn’t Legend of Total War do that? O
Chaos dwarfs definetely, unbreakable and armored.

It doesn't always work after so many units work I think they've changed it so it has to be units that are not engaged in combat
I like them as is but I don't do multi, I wish they could varry the stats in each.

Freebird and the guitarsolo IS amazing, check out the old live videos if you haven't.
Always funny to watch Skarsnik fuck over High Elves hahaha
Petition to call Fantasy Orc missile fire Nokka (nock an arrow hurr durr.)

It does happen
Yes they can
Yes to all
Cheers all!
Turin, your description links to Total War Warhammer 1 instead of 2. Just a heads up!
Seems like ruinination of cities is bugged, everytime its been cast in this stream and Turin's last one all 3 parts go the exact same way.

Happy Birthday !!!!
How do you rotate the whole formation? I cant seem to do it
select everything you want to rotate, then either ctr shift, alt shift, or ctrl alt shift, and even possibly ctr shift, then alt shift
Face to foot style, how'd you like it?
What you're referring to, or what i think you are, should be possible in premiere pro alone.
Sorry I missed your birthday stream bro!!!
Happy birthday!!!! Lol
Ngl I feel Azhag need a buff, perhaps to his HP?
Good to see the Greenskins winning some games, as an Orc lover I always see them losing in MP
