Hi Steve! Love this technique. I recently put a shorter bottomless cylinder on a slab and make one hole in the middle -- it's awesome as a pen/pencil holder. Happy Potting!
If you have facebook add Beckman's Ceramics. i have an altered pitcher like yours on there that i made after watching this video. i also made some tea pots using the same technique. it really opened a new door for my ceramics. thanks!
these are such amazing colors..what cone was this?? i heard you say "tea dust" we have a cone 10 tea dust black at my school which we use for ruduction firings..is this the same?
i did this same closing in process but w/ wooden paddles..rubbed my wholes for about a minute+...it was also pretty much directly after being thrown..the only problem that happened was my holes separated while it dried...which i heard you state here :\ did you dry them slowly like under a bag? ill try again eventually :)
Bless you for showing the finished work! It brings the whole thing together for us. Thank you , your work is very creative and fresh. Claire
Wonderful results. Your glazes and technique are awesome. I enjoyed seeing the entire process to the finished piece.
Amazing. Beautiful glaze work :). Also... always wondered how to do the altered forms with holes lol. Thank you!!!
The Final Pieces came out great. I love the videos when they show you the final piece not just how to do it on the wheel.
So nice to see the whole process. Well done.
Wow some of the absolute most beautiful pieces I have ever seen.

What cone is the glaze?
do you have a template for the boards?
Love your pottery try raw glazing give it a go.
Did you score the inside before pushing the two sides together?
no need Zoe, when the clay is in the wet stage. Compressing with the fingers is sufficient to make a firm join.
Joyful Spirit--it's from the Eckhart Tolle compilation...you can purchase it on iTunes using the link above. great song right?
Here ya go. Have fun!
