Alan Jackson is the best male country singer around. This song is the best he has ever written and performed in my opinion. The honesty and emotions in his voice cannot be matched. This song won the title of Country Music Song of the Decade for the 2000's and it deserves nothing less.
Come on America, remember how much we cared for each other in the days following 9/11. Please don’t let it take another tragic event for us to love one another!!🇺🇸💙❤️✝️
This is so BEAUTIFUL ALAN. THANK YOU FOR WRITEING THIS. IT IS SO AWESOME, CARING THING ANY ONE DID FOR THAT 911. GOD BLESS YOU SO MUCH OF THE LOVING AND CARING THAT YOU SHOWED TO ALL OF US HERE LISTENING TO THIS BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFULL, IN THE SOUL'S HEARTS AND MINE. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR IT. YOU DID GREAT FOR WHAT YOU DID IN MAKING THIS SONG OF BEAUTIFUL LOVE YOU DID. THANK YOU AGAIN LOVE GALE MEYER FROM MINNESOTA AND PROUD TO BE A American citizen I am into you God bless you and many ways thank you so much from the bottom of my heart and in my soul thank you Gale Meyer .
I worked one block from the WTC that day, a day that will be etched in my brain for my lifetime. Here it is 19 years later and it’s like it was yesterday.
Almost 21 years later and I still remember where I was when the world stopped turning. I will never forget. This song will always get me choked up and I cried when I saw the firefighter with the number 343 on his helmet.
I cried so hard that day and still do, always will. I feel so guilty that I, myself, couldn't do anything for the victims to help them. All I did and still do, is pray for their souls, families and friends. May they all Rest in Peace ~ God Bless America !!!
Alan Jackson Did it just right 15 yrs and its still Fresh as it just happened thank You for doing the Tribute Love this song my Favorite song Lest we NEVER FOR GET 9-11-01
Its been a years since this song touch a million peoples heart till now this song is still play on different country radio station such a beautifull song thank you alan for that song god bless you
Sydney Strong I am offended when people refuse to stand for our flag and national anthem. My son-in-law served our country for 14 years and 7 deployments. He experienced war and saw his buddies die. We ought to respect our military, police officers, firefighters, and emergency responders. They put their life on the line for us. Not to mention the sacrifices their families make to support their loved ones.
Not true. Even when the attacks just happened some leftist “intellectuals” were already making excuses for Al-Qaeda and the Taliban. As liberal as I am I despise them
This is a good song and there's nothing wrong with writing a song about 911. There's no doubt he was inspired to write about it because of his experience and emotions post 911- to put in words how he felt. Why not share the good messages this song is really about with the world? It's a little about 911 and alot about reminding us how we should be living every day and not taking life for granted.
Such a emotional day for my family my dad was a firefighter lost brothers and sisters after school I had a doctors appointment and my mom who was pregnant got a phone call from my dad saying they were having a baby girl
Love this song and all his music he puts his heart into every song. Have been a fan since he started singing and always will be. Sending love and prayers for him ❤️.
21 years in about less than a month from now! That day is a void that always will be with me! Had family down in NYC at the time the attacks were unfolding!
First thing first this is this is my opinion and I apologize if I offended anyone... 19 years ago on 9/11/2001 the United states in encountered a tragedy and my heart still goes out 19 years later to all... my point about it is the hole thing is never forgotten but guess what I believe alot have... they dont make a big deal out of it anymore and god damit everyone we need to... that was a warning if this world doesn't straighten up something else is going to happen and we dont need that... we all came together 19 years ago and we all need to come together now no one is better than anyone god made us equal and where suppose to be proud to be American... and looking at this world today are four fathers are turning in there grave... come on America let's come together and become one...
I was liying on my chouch, I turned on the T.V, it was 7:05 when it happend, and all my teachers were whatching the T.V, I didn't really know what was happending, I was in 7th grade but now I'm like wow, I'm just blown away, and on top of this it was on my grandfathers britherday! what a birtherday don't u think!?
Real heroes don't wear capes they wear dog tags and badges and they run into burning buildings and now we have the health care workers God bless America
Richard Mockmore. I had some family down in NYC at the time. It was nerve racking and very heart pounding. One of them we kept calling until we finally got through. Two of them moved out of New York City and never stepped foot in to Manhattan since than
Look, I'm not a country person nor would I be considered anywhere close to being a conservative yet this song touches me. I can so identify with this song. I did call up my mother to tell her I love her. I did notice things that I took for granted would always be there and did go to my Church that night. So tell me, what did you do to commemorate the loss of nearly 3000 lives that day? What did you do to help ease people's fears and sadness?
This is so sad but he is a great singer and he is a true american :] I was young when this happened but I too was not in my happiest playful attitude, I just wish that it never happened but it did and it may happen again or it may never ever happen again who knows. but I hope those people know that WE WILL NEVER FORGET! (why are people arguing over something that can be taken care of differently not in comments while people want to enjoy and remember that day)
How the hell do you know that was his main motive? Country music stars are genuine, which is more than you can say for has been pop sluts like Britney Spears. He was sincere in writing this song. Music can be used for healing, and this song has helped me and many others to do that. I love this song and Alan Jackson, no matter what you and the creators of South Park say.
I disagree this was a tragedy for this was a world of tragedy. Yes it was the most unthinkable tragedy for the US and it's hard to believe it has been 10 years, but the world suffered and came together as one because of this tragedy. The reality is it could've been any country in the world and the world mourned with us over the useless loss of inncocent lives lost that day. I only wish we could all stand together as one nation and world every day and not just because of such unspeakable tragedy
Maybe that Firefighter in tears had a sibling or siblings or other types of the Family who died in one of the 9/11 tragedies. May Godbless the Firefighters, Emergency Personal/Response Teams. Cops and others buried in that rubble. Sad.
After 9,11 I made my up mind I will train for the military and avang those who didn't get a choice, I won't just sit here whating to be killed Im going to fight for the freedom our forfathers fought so hard to gain. What say you? Will you fight back?
It really doesn't matter if you were addressing Alan specifically or not. The fact remains that most other genres are about flash and parties more than anything else. Britney Spears, for example, is more famous for being a train wreck than her singing ability. As for the part about writing the song for profit, I got you confused with the first asshole I responded to 4 weeks ago. My bad, there are so many of them here on UA-cam.
Your "line of reasoning" doesn't fit Alan Jackson specifically. Much of what is called "country" today really isn't. Alan Jackson and George Strait are the few true country stars today. However, I believe country stars of the past were absolutely genuine. As far as I'm concerned, you don't get much more genuine than Haggard, Jones, and Cash. I believe Alan Jackson fits into that category too. What ticked me off the most is your presumption that Alan wrote this song for profit alone.
You don't have to do anything you don't want to because I love you anyway baby you probably won't be able to get married but I sure could use your company and you willing to see me baby before you leave me alone and I want to see you soon I hope.
. #- 1 - My assumptions re Islam are based on fact. The Quran verifys each and every statement I made regarding Islam. #-2 - It is your loss that you do not know me. #-3- I am very glad you do not live in America. #-3-there is no rational reason for me to go live in Antartica, considering the fact that I am Cherokee Native American, and this is our land it does not belong to anyone, least of all Muhammadians.
"LOL" at me all you want, I don't give a shit. Do you think the average country singer comes from a multimillionaire background? Most come from blue collar backgrounds, and sing about what they know. That doesn't mean there aren't phonies in country music, but Alan Jackson comes from humble beginnings, has never been divorced, and his twang is real, so your line of reasoning here is bunk. If music can't be used for healing and reflection, then what the hell is the purpose of it?
It's not beyond me at all. You don't like my definition of country music, so you call me names. What the fuck is hard to grasp about that? Of course, the nonsense truly began when you came here to turn this into a debate about Iraq and Iran. Just because some Americans don't know all the particulars of a country doesn't mean they support illegal wars in the middle east.
This song break my heart 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 God Bless America..🇺🇲🇺🇲♥️
You see the crowd silent and just standing in respect. Can’t imagine singing this in New York where it happened the crowds felt that
Proud Canadian. But standing with my brothers and sisters crying right now. Alan Jackson is a treasure.
It's 2021 and am still not over that day
OMG, that shot of the firefighter crying just brought me to tears. How could we ever forget?
nitewind103 I couldn’t if I tried.
Oh God that firefighter! I lost it once I saw him 💔💔💔 a day America came together as one and it was so beautiful to be apart of 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

People who say Men do not cry, never felt anything for another ever.
Agreed, One thonk special about humans is that we have the ability to mourne those we did and did not know.

Back when everyone was patriotic. When everyone stood for the flag and the national anthem

No it didn't really stop turning but it sure felt like it did.
