“I lost my fiancé, I lost my parents, I lost my dog, and I lost EARTH”
Oh, I love you Kate. I was only listening to this interview until that part, and I had to rewind.
Who else felt Captain/Admiral vibes when she said “Shall we?”
Now, let's take a step back and be fair here. From all the actors, who are really great, and played a Star Trek captain so far, only Kate Mulgrew I honestly can see as an Admiral. She got the stuff for greatness and leadership.
As for the vibes of Kate Mulgrew here in this interview. Man I stood still and was almost saluting. And I mean it in a good way!🥰
It is not only that Kate Mulgrew brought the first female captain in Star Trek, but she gave her something unique to be mentioned. And to me this is the most important thing. The right actress for the right part.
I was crying pretty dreadfully
First thought seeing the title: They better have let Ellie do this one.
I was not disappointed.
And she gave great justice to her family name here 😊
Watching Ellie try to diplomatically spit out "will they or won't they ever boink" was flipping hilarious🤣
Ahahahaha it was so beautiful to watch 😂
You got THE Kate Mulgrew! Admiral Janeway! Thank you for this interview. It is Trans-Generational. My mother is a Sci-Fi book addict and she watched TOS. I was 4 when TNG came out watching the very first episode with mom. My son watch Voyager and DS9 on syndication. My daughter, Jadzia, is now growing up with Prodigy! Thank you to Trek Culture and to you, THE Kate Mulgrew! Live Long and Prosper! 🖖
Jadzia! Very cool name. May she grow to be as wonderful as the character.
Silence! Mulgrew is transdimensiomal.
We must now proceed to the central nexus.
I would love to see a season three of Prodigy of star trek
I identify as Trans-Generational. I was born in 1983 but identify as someone born in 2003 with the beginning onset of E.D.
I love how much Kate seems to be enjoying being back in the chair. It's great to see how much she loves Star Trek and is so looking forward to the future of the franchise and her part in it.
I love how Kate Mulgrew absolutely commanded this interview ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love Janeway sooooooooo much. She was my first Trek Captain 😍😍😍😍
@@JustSomeBodisOpinion same!! I am hoping and praying that she plays Cadsuane in Wheel of Time as well
OMG! Ellie! How are you doing?! Are you alright?!
Wow! You've had som big names on this show...but Kate Mulgrew???
I think TrekCulture has just reached the next level.
Voyager was the last full Star Trek show we saw with my mom. She loved Janeway, was a JC shipper and loved Hepburn. She would have loved Prodigy and this interview. So happy Ellie got this experience. I don't exactly know why but this interview made me cry. Thank you.
Kate Mulgrew Wants Season 3 For Star Trek: Prodigy - so say we all
SO SAY WE ALL!!!!!!
Hey wait that green creep is back? Eh when in Rome.
So say we all
may the Schwartz be with you!
Ellie tweaking thru the whole interview was adorable.
So happy for Ellie!!! Fantastic interview!!
Listened to the podcast and heard Ellie’s reaction had to come watch it just for Ellie’s reaction. So worth it
The look of shear joy on Ellie's face! Her smile was coast to coast!!!!
Ellie at the end is me if I ever met any Voyager performer! 😆
I met Mulgrew awhile back when she visited the Janeway statue in Bloomington Indiana. I grew up not far by and Janeway was my fictional hero as a young woman.
My hero too - Picard would give me a wonderful eulogy, Sisko would get my revenge - Janeway would get me back to the ship.
@@MaybeAnnatar same here. I'm thrilled that's she's in Prodigy now, so my nieces will get to watch her too in a few years. I watched Voyager in high school and Captain Janeway was such a formative part of how I think about leadership and striving against the odds.
The personality switch with her and Dal last season was an epic episode.
maybe my favorite "body swap" Trek episode, actually!
How cool was that? Wow. The plane over LA was a great campaign and the work here at Trek Culture is also an important and powerful source to keep Star Trek going. Thank you, all.
I saw Mulgrew on Broadway in Tea at 5. I am a huge Hepburn fan and grew up with Voyager, so very excited to meet Kate at the stage door. I was waiting with only 2 other folx that had come to see her from England and were absolute Voyager fanatics. She was very kind to all of us, spent some time talking with us, and I think assumed I was with the other couple. When they left, I briefly clarified that I wasn't with them. I shared that I knew her from ST, but came to see the play bc I love Hepburn. She took another couple minutes to just chat with me about the play. She appears to be such a genuinely nice and thoughtful actor that values her fans.
The fan girl and fan boy energy is exceeding safety parameters on this one!
Watching Ellie fan gush with meeting and talking to Kate Mulgrew her hero was adorable!
I‘m happy for Ellie, she had the chance to talk with Kate Mulgrew! Her joy about the fact that she is talking to her favorite Star Trek-actor/Captain/admiral is so wholesome to see!
That was actually very informative; I learned some behind-the-scenes stuff about both Voyager and Prodigy in this
Ellie has always been our Janeway 2.0. I cannot put into words how happy I am for her to get the opportunity to speak with Kate. You both handled it so so well! I would be utterly starstruck!
Of course she wants another season! They all should be proud of the amazing work that team put in! I really hope for another season, and I haven’t been a kid for a long time now 😄
Very nice of you Sean, to allow Ellie a moment in time.
I’m 55 yrs old and have seen everything Star Trek and love it all. Voyager was one of my fav’s just because of its uniqueness to everything preceding and now prodigy is at the top of my list. I’ve never been a fan of animated series but this is something that compares to nothing else out there. Please please please give us a season 3!!!!!
The ending was the most wholesome, adorable, and heartwarming thing ❤
it is so adorable that ellie was actually speechless at the beginning. and yes, when i met KM i had trouble sleeping after too!
I can feel the joy and excitement of Ellie from South America hahaha (I'm at Chile) congrats for the interview with Kate, specially for the incredible work that she has than in prodigy 🎉
Captain on Deck! (Stands to attention)
*Cough* Admiral...
Oh fam! Congratulations on having this interview 🖖
Kate Mulgrew is so humble, thoughtful, sweet, and kind
Genuinely not sure who loved this more, me or my 21 month old who kept shouting "Jan-wa" through the whole interview with a huge smile on his face😂
That’s was incredible. Breathe Ellie, breathe.
I just recently was able to watch Star Trek Prodigy and i binge watched the 2 seasons in 2 days. I really need a season 3 😊
Thanks for using the Wilson Cruz intro! He's just fantastic. One hell of an actor!
Star Trek Prodigy (and Lower Decks) can be a gold mine for the franchise since the series is CGI, here is an opportunity to bring back more Voyager / TNG characters to the screen without the issues of live action. As the show take place between Nemesis and Picard, characters such as Naomi Wildman and Icheb (who dies in Picard era) can be introduced to the Prodigy main characters since both would be of age to join star fleet academy at this timeline.
I'm so glad that Kate Mulgrew loves and is so proud of her Janeway. If you haven't listened to the audiobook version of Janeway's biography, Kate reads it for us, it's heavenly!❤
Link me
Oh captain my Admiral!
That poem is about the captain dying...
Resolutions' was sooo close... yet not! A beautiful 'if only' script...
Lovely to see you Ms Mulgrew 😘
Kate Mulgrew is eccentric in my absolute favourite way - I love that she sort of... answers the question but she goes off on her own at the same time. Her interviews are always so entertaining
Ellie! OMG both of you were amazing but Ellie I love you for asking the J/C question so directly! One day we'll get her to fold lmao! What an incredible experience this must have been! I am so frickin jealous!!
Much Love!
LLAP
RoryJaneway!!
We want & deserve more Prodigy!
Oh Ellie!! I feel you!!!!! Thank you guys! A wonderful interview!!!
I think this channel is finally hitting the bigtime. Well done!
So excited for Ellie, especially, getting this interview. Seán too, but just ... super-so for Ellie ❤ I love Kate Mulgrew interviews. I love that she loves her character, and wants to do more.
Kate is just wonderful!
The description to this video is perfection!!
That was awesome guys…awesome
Great get for an interview, guys! And thank you Ellie for asking Kate for her thoughts on JC. Loved hearing her comments on that. 👍🏾👍🏾🖖🏾
I just love her voice. It took me a long time to make the connection, but she voices Flemeth/Mythal in the Dragon Age series. One of my favorite shows, and one of my favorite games.
That’s the first work of hers I ever saw
Well, that's Ellie's year. It's all downhill from here.
Kate Mulgrew, by the way, was insanely dignified. My goodness.
Nice work. :)
That was absolutely awesome, and I am so happy for you two that you were able to do this. Oh god I love Janeway and it warms my heart to see how much Mulgrew loves her and Star Trek, too.
I can see myself rewatching this again and again not just for the awesome chat with Kate but also the sheer joy and excitement on Ellie’s face.
Ellie is so damn adorable when she fan girls out. I totally would fan boy out, too, if I got to talk to Kate Mulgrew. Love this channel!
Amazing interview ❤
Kate Mulgrew has become my all time favourite person from the Star Trek franchise, I won't admit how long I have followed her acting career
I remember watching Mrs. Columbo as a child. It really should have been called The Kate Mulgrew Mysteries instead since the Columbo tie-in made no sense.
Not even a minute in and I can see Ellie's utterly fit to burst with excitement getting to chat with Kate Mulgrew, also seems utterly fitting getting to do such an interview now though as it's almost 30 years since Voyager first started production (first aired in Jan. 1995 though), scary to think that it was so long ago now, even if we only got it on BBC2 in Sept. 1996 (yes, sky got it the previous year, but not all of us could afford such luxuries!), time flies... :P
OMG SHE IS THE QUEEN
All hail the queen! (subspace relay gets overloaded)
"Remember, you're the Queen!"
OMG I love seeing Ellie so verklempt after one of her dreams came true with this interview. I'd be hyperventilating too if I could interview Kate Mulgrew
Give us more seasons of Prodigy!
That was a GREAT interview! Sososososo good!
Thats so awesome!!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Watching this and Ellie's reaction to it definitely brings a smile.
if you have a good story, you can tell the story in virtually any medium. book, radio, animation, or live film.
animation hits a sweet spot, it is visual, while not expensive.
I just loved all of this! Thank You!
One of the things that struck me in this is how Kate Mulgrew seems to care about the Voyager and Prodigy lore too. I really feel that it's not just a job she does for the paycheck, but that she really enjoys making the show and playing the character of Janeway. Oh, and please give Ellie plenty of oxygen!
I agree completely! Prodigy was such a surprise with a great story, and with this great cast of characters that are likeable and you feel something for. I love having Janeway, the doctor, and Chakotay. I REALLY hope for season 3 and beyond!! What do we, the fans, need to do to make that happen?
I was at the sdcc panel. Kate is amazing! Love prodigy. Go for season 3!
it was so nice seeing Ellie in this interview. This joy reflected on me.
This was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I'm so happy that Kate Mulgrew did this interview with the two of you for TrekCulture! I also really love that she didn't just see it as yet another interview, but actually took the time to learn where you were from and to make the connections with England as well as Wexford in Ireland.
She also looked absolutely amazing and beautiful. Did anyone else get vibes of the outfit she wore to beam down to 20th Century Earth in the two part episode "Future's End" from what she wore to this interview?
You remember in Live Fast and Prosper when the guy playing the pretend Tuvok meets the real Tuvok and just absolutely geeks out? Yeah, that’s this video and it’s great!
That was awesome! So happy for Ellie. 🙂
Four Grand-kids - Three Gens watching. Kids are 10 and below THEY LOVE THIS!!! Prodigy makes me teary with Roddenberry optimism with a thinking adventure.
Ellie gushing in awe and deligth at the end of the interview is one of the nicest things i have seen so far
This was so lovely to watch. The beaming smiles from you both were completely endearing ❤
Emotional night for me and I saw the thumbnail and I really thought she passed away for a second before reading the title. I couldn't take that tonight. But great she wants all good things for Prodigy going forward! And may she live a long and happy life yet!!
I’m not sure which was more exciting, having Kate on the interview or the absolute joy of Ellie getting to meet her. I’m fairly sure there were multiple explosions of joy as that ended! Looking forward to when the next interview happens in person! Congrats everyone!
So happy for Ellie
Since us Canadians weren’t able to stream Season 2, i just bought seasons 1 & 2 on Apple. Enjoyed season 2, absolutely wonderful. I hope there will be a season 3 in the future.
I am so happy for you guys, I just can't tell ya!
So much joy in one video. Thank you Ellie and Seán for the positivity!
What a great interview! Thanks! Ellie handled it exemplary with so much delight and emotion! Also great to see Kate Murglew again- she must be my favorite actress of all times when I think of it.
I love Sean for just letting Ellie have fun!
So happy for you, Ellie! Great questions! We're all feeling your joy!
Ellie is just in her glory.
Season 2 of Prodigy is unbelievably good. Hot damn. I love Kate Mulgrew so much, what a great lady.
Ellie is glowing and I'm here for it
Without a doubt, Prodigy is a fantastic show. Seeing Kate Mulgrew was special. Great job Ellie and Sean! Thank you for bringing this to us. Live long and prosper!
I'm so excited for both of you to be able to meet these actors. Thanks for sharing them with us...i ❤ Trek Culture!! 🎉
I ADORE Kate Mulgrew. Janeway is my favourite Trek captain. I’d follow her to the Delta Quadrant and back. So happy (and a tad envious) that you got to chat with her. She is truly iconic! ❤
Season three of Prodigy now! This is real Star Trek. Prodigy is not for children alone.
That was awesome great interview Ellie and Sean 😁👍
So happy for you guys!! 🥲🥲🥲🥲
What a fantastic interview with Kate Mulgrew! Kate is an incredible actress, IMO. We are so lucky to have Prodigy brought into the Star Trek universe. Thanks for an entertaining episode.
Awesome interview! I want season 3 too!
OH MY GOD....
Fantastic interview! Deep, slow breaths really do help, Ellie!
It is so good to hear Kate's voice again.
