Did You Know: "trolling" is another word for "fishing" and that's actually how the current use of the term developed
The one interesting thing about Than rooms that I don't think they mentioned, is that if you're doing IGT it's actually beneficial to see him, since he pauses the timer, at least during the actual encounter.
Sadly after the encounter the IGT still runs while Than is still talking so it is actually not beneficial to meet him
@@ahmadharezz5128 actually if the room reward is a pom, hammer or boon, and if you are standing near where than will drop the heart, you can wait in the hammer/pom/boon menu (which igt is paused in) until than drops the heart and disappears, and then go right into the room exit
@@ahmadharezz5128 but it’s still significantly shorter of a wait compared to clearing a regular room so it’s still beneficial.
@@ahmadharezz5128 maybe in Tartarus sometimes but in Asphodel and Elysium you're not usually clearing rooms faster than Thanatos finishes speaking
it's also possible to go fishing and pause the IGT while Than drops the heart

This was so fun to watch, I had no idea you could beat Hades this quickly lol. The commentary from the couch was some of the funniest I've heard in any speedrun I've watched. Great community around a great game! Hope Hades gets played in another AGDQ. Thanks for the great run!
20 minutes in and I'm already learning new things about this masterpiece of a game.
Same. I just got the game yesterday, and had no idea how much there is to do in it... until I saw this and Vorime's fresh file world record. He has like 5000 escape attempts and all the post-game extras... meanwhile, I've only got like 15 and thought I was pretty close to the end since I only have Hades left. But nope. I've still got entire categories of game mechanics to unlock.

What is most amusing is that the game itself justifies the speedrunning in story. I won't spoil anything more than that, but there is an in-universe justification to speedrun.
Why take Aphro cast over Splash cast with a bow? What're the pros over the damage and radius of Splash cast?

Anyone can explain why he does the run at heat 12? What are the benefits?
EM 2 to make 2nd boss faster (smaller arena), forced overtime for faster enemy spawns, tight deadline prevents the "survive for 45 sec" rooms from showing up
There are some pacts that make the run faster. For example, they mentioned how extreme measures 2 makes the hydras room smaller and heads closer together.
I know this is old but for anyone else wondering there's an explanation at 33:20

forced overtime - enemies move faster but also spawn faster
extreme measures 2 - lernie heads are closer together to kill faster, furies are slightly harder but have the same hp and take the same amount of time.
tight deadline - removes the survival room in tartarus, used in real time runs (in game timer pauses in the room, so its not used for IGT)

So how the heck does he have all of Skelly's trinkets with a best heat of only 15? When the second and third trinket are supposed to require 16 and 32 heat respectively?
Well it's weapon-specific, right? I don't know much about this game (I've never played it), but I think it tracks 'completed heat levels' on a weapon-by-weapon basis (so you can get a new reward item for each boss on a new heat level), and only requires you to reach 32 heat with one of them for the final reward.
Can anyone explain why they stop to fish? Thank you.
To flex. Same reason with petting the dog. Also, donations were asking for more fish so every fish helped fight cancer.

Well you see, you actually can't beat Hades if you miss a fish. It's a secret mechanic which only exists in certain builds of the game
