    You actually explained the refrigerant cycle extremely well. I’ve been doing hvac for 6 years and it’s surprising how many guys with 10+ years experience don’t know this lol… pretty impressive honestly

    Here’s a simpler but less detailed way of explaining AC.
    You know how how a can of compressed air gets cold when you pull the trigger and the gas comes out?
    An AC works the same way except the gas gets pumped back into the can. Now we put a fan in front of the cold can and that’s how we get cold air

      It doesn’t blow cold air it takes the hot air and cools it down. There is no such thing as cold. It’s just lack of heat

    32° is ideal 45° is realistic, keeps it from going back to compressor as a liquid. Just seeing those compressors stacked on there amazes me cause in 2004 bluebird only had them added to the short buses, and even then pull hood to jump one sitting on back order no compressor.
    Excellent video.

    Video suggestion: Find an old retired school bus and do an oil change on it! Or ask your company if you can tag along to the garage over the summer to film one of theirs!

    We never had AC on busses here in florida, 100 degree heat every day and no ac, and if someone acted up we all had to put our windows up and suck up the heat approaching 120-130 in the back for the 2 hour ride for days on end. Usually the kid responsible got the shit kicked out of them so that system worked

  • @KuntalGhosh
    @KuntalGhosh 2 роки тому +1

    Slight error but 95% of it was right. The high pressure gas goes into the condenser but it remains at high pressure while existing the condenser at a liquid state. That liquid then goes into a metering device which could be a simple capillary tube or thermal expansion valve or electronic expansion valve. The job of this device is to hold back enough refrigerant that the high pressure is maintained & the gas gets a chance to condense into liquid, & it allows just enough liquid into the evaporator that whatever comes out of the evap is not in a liquid state. The drier thing can be located at both high & low sides. Typically it's at the liquid line right before the metering device cus that's the most sensitive part of the system and can easily get clogged.

    hey there sir, I love your videos. I own a 2006 IC Bus re300 (rear engine) I have fixed many things because of your cool videos. I found this one looking for a solution to a problem I have on my bus where the blowers for the AC do not even turn on. I am sure I can recharge the ac but not sure how to find the fuse for the AC to see if it is blown as part of my problem. Can you assist?

    Do school buses have Manual Steering or Power Steering?

    • @Joe_Cool48
      @Joe_Cool48 3 роки тому +2

      Powered, of course. If it were manual the drivers would be ripped af and/or the steering wheels would be HHUUGGEE and need to be turned umpteen times just to make a simple turn. Most, if not all by now, modern trucks and cars have powered everything (brakes and steering; windows are an accessory item for a later date). Hope this helped
