Wow Erik, that's a classic "how hard can it be" job! Frustrating but ultimately rewarding. Given all the work that you put in in part 3 I'd be inclined to carry on and remove the bellhousing, but as your bad weather arrives much sooner than ours, it may be easier to couple it all up back onto four wheels and drag it in the shop to remove the engine in comfort; a lot of graft for such a small but vital part. Good luck on your journey of pain 🙏🏻
Yes, this is a LOT of work for a few seals! Frustrating for sure. I don't know yet what I'm going to do ... still thinking about the options. The journey of pain continues ....
That is quite the roadblock. As I've stated before, I'm not an experienced mechanic, but I think the bell housing might be easier than pulling the motor. Since subscribing and watching you work for a good amount of time, I'm confident you'll get to the bottom of it. You have tremendous ability and will find an efficient solution. 'Til the next one, I'm rootin fer ya!
You may be able to get at from the front, through the bottom cover under the clutch with the throw out bearing actuating shaft out. May need to take the frame rail loose for that. Haven’t tried myself, but just a two bolt throw out bearing holder in front of seal.
I’m with most of the replies in that I think the bellhousing will be the way to go, removing the engine on your own could be fraught with danger. Research the issue as I’m sure you’re not the first one to come across this problem. I look forward to the next instalment.
Nice work! Where there's a will there's a way. 👍
Indeed!

I will figure something out! Thanks for the support as always.
Get the right seal and get a piece of shaft and turn down one end in a lathe to fit the seal to make a simple installation tool

Great minds think alike! I have already done this. New video coming soon. (I didn't even have to take that shaft out)
It looks like the bell housing would be the better option.

Yes I will definitely research and figure something out…
Don't worry, these tractors were meant to be worked on by the average Joe, with a little knowledge, you'll figure it out
Go ahead and take the bell housing off.
Yah, perhaps. Ugh. Double Ugh!
