The weather over in South Wales was horrific over the last few days. As you get older, time and experiences should take priority over material possessions. I know people who have not realised this until it's too late. You guys are an inspiration. 🎉
I am so excited to watch your travels again this year. living the dream you are ! Even the sound of the rain as you are filming from your work in your caravan brings holiday vibes Haha. Exciting times ahead and I'm here for it. xx
Get well soon Judy. We've been watching quietly for a long while as we do similar (but not as good as you lol) to you on our channel. Our season as wardens is a bit longer than yours though.
Watched in awe last year, you talked us into a 3 month break, booked, in the complex you stayed in, in Tenerife, we spend all our holidays in Tenerife anyway, but watching you last year, hubby said yes, we are doing it. He’s a roofer so hates winter anyway. But yes! Out beginning of December until 27th of Feb, THANK YOU 🤣🤣 xx
You have just come on my list to watch this morning you two are so chirpy you have made my morning and it is only seven o clock thank you looking forward to my holiday with you bye for now from Lynda 😊
It is easy to say, ‘I couldn’t, I can’t..’ We should ask ourselves, why not? If someone can do it! Think what you need to do that or something similar. I am 76, there’s no such thing as ‘I can’t’. I visited all seven continents within seven years, using my pension. It wasn’t easy at all, but I wanted to fulfil my dream, so found ways to economise.
@kezzacollinson621 Can only go to non Schengen countries so I expect Cyprus will be joining next year .. ( during winter ) we dont do cold 🥶.. so may just be Turkey in future and our Lovley Canary Islands for the 90 days xx
Love your video. So many people work every hour they can get, and tell themselves they will do things when they retire, but they never get there. Life is short, and if you can make it fun, then you absolutely should. Money is no use when you're dead. Best of luck with your travels....
Spot on we know so many of our family and friends who had so many plans for the future and are sadly no longer with us… spurs you on to find away to do things you fancy now and not wait x

Glad it was helpful! Omg the weather is terrible at moment but hopefully drying up next week as we have lots of outside jobs at campsite before we finish… 🙃
From November 10th the EES comes into effect, including Canary islands(who are in the shengen agreement) how will it work for you guys? We'd like to give it a go too.
Date not yet confirmed but won’t make any difference to us as we only do 90 days in Schengen it’s not worth the risk but they’ll catch you now if you do 🤪
Hi Judy . Love ur blogs and watching ur adventures . Thinking of visiting Lanzarote for our 35 wedding anniversary. Can you advise what the weather would be like 28/2 to 7/3 . Unsure what feb/march would be . My husband is happy Lo leave it to me to decide where we go but like Mark as long as he’s got a beer he’s happy lol 😂x
Unfortunately the standing charges for the utilities are getting more expensive. One question i have is . When you go away for the winter how do you prevent the pipes from freezing in your cottage if you dont leave the heating on a timer for part of day . Do you drain the system or something. We are in Lanza over xmas , we might see you. Our first time away ever at Xmas !
Thanks for the reply but thought you said in you were going to Tenerife for 20 weeks hence my question. So you are only spending 90 days of your 6 months break in EU Schengen countries. What I find so unfair is that if we were residents of an EU country coming in as a tourist to the UK we could use all our 180 days in a oner or any permutation of 180 days! Grrrr... another one of many **** ups by our UK Govt Brexit negotiaters!
Yes and get Mick to bring his pointy birthday hat to wear on his nose 😂 lamppost swinging is part of the night’s activities … I’ll group chat you all nearer the time xx
It is so inspiring to hear about the way you have organised your life to have so much fun in the sun .... so brilliant and inspiring. Sounds like you have a Cottage somewhere in the UK. Do you rent this out for extra income? And do you keep it as a bolt hole incase you ever decide to settle down in the UK again? I am just wondering if it best for me to buy a property overseas, maybe Portugal, Italy or France and travel back to UK to see family and friends. OR Weather it is best for me to buy a small easy to manage property in uk to keep for old age and as back up incase i need to come back to UK for any reason. Interested to hear what you think - lots of thanks x
Yes we have a cottage close by the campsite where we go on our time off it’s our home which we are renovating over the years so no would never rent it out.. personally would always own a property as you never know what the future holds in terms of health x
I know i thought you’d be impressed 😂 but still don’t look at the stats 😀 so we can go out in the mountains stunning views and yet we sit in the caravan with the rain hammering down and chat and this is the result.. still will probably never make sense! Hope your well .. watched a few of your Turkey vlogs but now campsite gone very quiet can start to catch up on them all… see ya soon xxx
How do you stay out of UK for 5/months, Schengen visa is only good for 90 days. Stay other part of the world?.. Also do you keep an emergency fund?, and travel insurance...
Canaries are in Schengen Turkey and Cyprus as of now are not… we have been doing this for several years and always keep in budget but do have a back up if we need it… we have a good travel insurance with a 100 day extension x
Amazing. How wonderful. I'm confused about the Shengen rules for you though? How are you managing the 180 days then wait 6 months to return and do that again, then? Or do I have that wrong?
Cyprus is on the verge of joining so this may be the only winter we can go as they may complete the joining process in 2025 so then it’s just Turkey. But thinking of doing a Turkey Tour from top to bottom next winter but just an idea at moment x
I love your attitudes, wish i could do the same, can i ask what plans do you have when you get to retirement, have you got decent pensions to enable you to continue this life style?
Yes we very well planned but doubt we will retire for a very long time just reduce our summer hours if health allows we have private pensions also so all ok for the future 😀
Excellent bloody idea and something that would work well for my wife and I. Do you guys get one wage as found a campsite warden job and the pay is £11.50 an hour for 40 hours a week for a couple and not each. Accommodation and bills included so even when taking that into account that’s worth about £1000 a month.
Omg nooo do not take that job you are paid individually not per couple and certainly not £11.50 for both of you per hour… there’s plenty of warden jobs and always apply around now for the next season…it may take a while to find your ideal campsite as it did us. Yes having utilities included is a real bonus and is worth a lot over the season, although we love this lifestyle it doesn’t suit everyone it’s hard work and long days and dealing with Joe Public can be tedious 😂 but general we don’t get many silly people here … good luck 😉
@@gypsysoulsjudymark.escapet7388 just miss you end of November. Back over on the 4th of February. We used to live in Costa Teguise so will be staying there but would love to travel over to PDC one day if you have a spare hour for a quick drink on us 🍷🍻 though my OH also loves a San Miguel haha xx
Hi guys just found your channel so had to subscribe 😊when use of to turkey and what part are you going to I hear turkey is very good although expensive thank you
What do you do for travel and home insurance. I can only get home insurance to cover 60 away and travel insurance for 50 days on an annual travel insurance. I want to spend longer away but the insurance won't let me.
Good question our travel insurance is with 100 day extension ( 1 single trip) additional trips up to 50 days ..we do an annual cover policy for a couple and although you can’t compare costs due to everyone’s medical conditions, age etc being so different our premium yearly for us both is £168. On auto renew. We have a specialist home insurance through a broker we work away so can’t have a standard policy approx £300 per year but again individual cost comparisons will be different due to postcode ratings and other insurance risk factors …hope that helps x
We don’t go in school holidays as we work on the campsite during these except October half term … we fly home via Antalya in October as it was cheaper… we book everything early our Cyprus flight was £20 each one way however I have now paid extra to amend flight so we are in Cyprus when our friends are x
Must take a lot of planning to get 20 weeks holiday for 6.6K with your accomodation and flights included? I recall you booking a place in Costa adeje last year? Doubt you're staying up at that golf resort area this time😄
It certainly does take planning tbh it’s got very confusing this time I’ve had to get a notebook (old fashioned) to write all dates times ref numbers… easy jet have changed 6 of the 9 flights booked Wizz air canx flight completely and Flixbus keep sending new tickets with new QR codes totally confusing me! Add in all the travel lodge and premier inn confirmations 😂 .. but it’s kept me quiet for last 6 months 😀
Oh and don’t get me started on Agoda!! That’s a vlog on its own… arh no Golf Del Sur is not on any future list! But San Blas is the exception possibly x
We do the same work 3 months then off to Europe then back to work for a few months then off again we have to very big houses now rent them and got rid of loads of stuff we don’t need and can live in are camper most of the year we realised you don’t need half the stuff including clothes lol
Of course like I say we have bills for the house and that is one of the main factors we ensure that we save enough to cover those through our winters off
@georgemartin9618 We have avoided Ryan air n all 9 flights due to our experience of a gobby chav last winter abusing some Spanish families and Ryan air did nothing
Can you do a video of how you find this accommodation so cheaply , like what sites do you use that can be trusted ? A week in October in Tenerife is coming in at £3,000. So curious where you staying and how it’s such a good price , flights must be good price too . Happy travels 😊
We just book early that’s the key I’m already looking at next year too… next vlog we will tell you what we do as just had an experience with Agoda so I’ve cancelled all my bookings and will never use again.
Brilliant, love the work/play split. Sounds perfect. I guess Ive taken it a step further and live in Indonesia (cost of living here is very low in ££££'s). Love what you guys do, makes so much sense. 😊
If you want more than 30 days you will need to apply for a suitable visa. Some countries will give you 90 days . The only places I am aware of that you can stay for 5 months on a UK passport without aditional paperwork are Gibraltar and the Falkland Islands. Have fun trying to get to the Falklands. Easyjet has daily flights from Luton to Gibraltar, as does British Airways from Heathrow..
When in Tenerife don’t forget to meet up with the Knightstrider (Andrew Knight) who has lived in Tenerife for 10 years and he and his partner Laura own a bar “Buddies” in Los Cristianos. He does vlogs too.
@@gypsysoulsjudymark.escapet7388 thought you probably would have. I’ve been watching their vlogs and particularly love it when Andrew’s dad Paul aka Mick Garvey is there. He’s such a comedian. I’m going to Lanzarote with family in November staying in Matagorda and this will be our 8th visit, we just love Lanzarote
Lanzarote is our favourite place however will be interesting to revisit Turkey and Cyprus again so really looking forward to these destinations too before Xmas x

We’re campsite wardens, campsite opens 6 months a year through summer. Now going into our 8th year .. love it and thanks x

What do you do for work in the UK ?
Campsite wardens
Any tips for sites if you have to book a half term break in the half term break,no silly oclock flight's, im to tired.
Flights are very expensive
We don’t go in school holidays as we work on the campsite during these except October half term … we fly home via Antalya in October as it was cheaper… we book everything early our Cyprus flight was £20 each one way however I have now paid extra to amend flight so we are in Cyprus when our friends are x
“The more you have, the more you spend on cr*p” - very true!
It’s true we’d be millionaires by now if we’d not done just that 🤪
Enjoy 😊
That’s the main reason we do it thanks Douglas x
How can you do 4 months in eu countries when your only allowed 90 days ???
Turkey Cyprus are not in Schengen x
@@gypsysoulsjudymark.escapet7388 Cyprus is in the eu
We do the same work 3 months then off to Europe then back to work for a few months then off again we have to very big houses now rent them and got rid of loads of stuff we don’t need and can live in are camper most of the year we realised you don’t need half the stuff including clothes lol
Sound just like us it really is a fab way to live if you can make it work good luck to you xxx
No mortgage but you must pay other charges like council tax and services. How does that factor into it all?
Of course like I say we have bills for the house and that is one of the main factors we ensure that we save enough to cover those through our winters off
Im coming with ya!
Suzi your more than welcome 😜
Love it ❤️
How do you get over the 90 day rule? Are you registered
No we only go to Schengen for 90 days!
When are you guys in Turkey and which area
We are in Turkey in October in chalis beach and Kemer land in Dalaman fly out from Antalya x
If the journey starts on 6th October does that mean you’re flying on 7th? If so me too! I’m flying to Ibiza on 7th from Bristol
Yes we fly from Bristol on October 7th 😀
Watch out for the over zealous baggage check in if travelling with Ryanair . See the latest vlog from "mallorca under the sun "
@georgemartin9618 We have avoided Ryan air n all 9 flights due to our experience of a gobby chav last winter abusing some Spanish families and Ryan air did nothing
Takeaway san Miguel is just as nice 😊
It is indeed but he prefers it in a ice cold glass in the sun 🌞
How do you manage to get around the 90 days in 180 EU visa rule?
Because the only destination we’re going that’s in the Schengen is The Canaries so the others don’t apply in the count
@@gypsysoulsjudymark.escapet7388 Ahhh yes of course! Doh
Are your kids grown and left home
Yes years ago all 5 girls live in Bristol x
@gypsysoulsjudymark.escapet7388 that's fantastic. And 5 girls wow. Enjoy well deserved
How is it possible to get a employer to give you your job back after you've been away ?
Because we’re campsite wardens 😀
Where are you staying in Los Cristianos? 👌🌴☀️
We are stayed by in Costa Adeje near Aqualand x
Could you rent your cottage on Airbnb whilst you are away? Extra income for you 😊 can’t wait for your travles.
I could but we don’t want too .. it’s our home x
Very lucky ❤
Count our blessings x
Good luck, you 👏😎😎🍺
Thanks 👍
I'm guessing you plan your travels carefully because of the 90/180 day regulations in Europe.
Absolutely or to can get a fine and ban … for overstaying in a Schengen country
Brilliant, love the work/play split. Sounds perfect.
I guess Ive taken it a step further and live in Indonesia (cost of living here is very low in ££££'s).
Love what you guys do, makes so much sense. 😊
Sounds great! We may do long haul one day x
What job gives you six months off?
campsite warden 😀
💕💕🥂
Ohhh that cost started with 666, roll on Oct and the months to follow, I might take career break for a month and join the pub crawl....
Oh yeah !! Let’s just hope he doesn’t fall off the pier on all those € pints in Los Cristianos he can’t swim 🏊
Hiya what dates will you be in Lanzarote? We might be there at the same time.
@@shellykelly1656 we are there 2nd Dec to 24th Dec then fly from Tenerife back to Lanzarote Feb 10th to March 7th x
@@gypsysoulsjudymark.escapet7388
I am in Lanzarote 5 to 12 December.
😂❤❤❤
If you want more than 30 days you will need to apply for a suitable visa. Some countries will give you 90 days . The only places I am aware of that you can stay for 5 months on a UK passport without aditional paperwork are Gibraltar and the Falkland Islands. Have fun trying to get to the Falklands. Easyjet has daily flights from Luton to Gibraltar, as does British Airways from Heathrow..
Don’t need visa our only destination in Schengen is The Canaries so 5 months is fine for us 😀
@@gypsysoulsjudymark.escapet7388 The UK has left the EU. in the Canaries you will be limited to 30 days.
Why would anyone wanna escape the uk winter?
😂 if you love winter then no why would you
Very interesting. Please put your camera on a stand so less wobble. Its a bit distracting!
It’s on a stand must be the caravan 😂
When in Tenerife don’t forget to meet up with the Knightstrider (Andrew Knight) who has lived in Tenerife for 10 years and he and his partner Laura own a bar “Buddies” in Los Cristianos. He does vlogs too.
We’ve met him and Laura many times x
@@gypsysoulsjudymark.escapet7388 thought you probably would have. I’ve been watching their vlogs and particularly love it when Andrew’s dad Paul aka Mick Garvey is there. He’s such a comedian. I’m going to Lanzarote with family in November staying in Matagorda and this will be our 8th visit, we just love Lanzarote
Lanzarote is our favourite place however will be interesting to revisit Turkey and Cyprus again so really looking forward to these destinations too before Xmas x
But you can’t escape to our own E.U. European continent due to Brexit ,,,,
Wherever there’s sun ☀️ let’s go you just find another solution 😀
