If it's any consolation, we were touring Switzerland France at around the same time in our tiny caravan and the weather was appallingly and relentlessly wet! We also met people who had been in Spain and Italy who suffered the same. Then again, in eastern Europe at the same time they were in heatwaves at 46 degrees. @Roz.s Just wanted to thank you and Winston for giving me hope 🙏 of adventure, I m 12 months free of 40 years of domestic violence, was thinking going my life was over, but you've given me hope of a new start with my dog my world Teddy. So I'm taking a towing course then I'll look for a go pod. Thank you for sharing Roz x 🙏
I have just come across your videos! Love them, love you and Winston and your pod. I'm watching you chatter away about your poorly finger and I'm giggling because you sound just like me!😂😂😂xxx
Sad to see you down. Just remember you have over 15,000 folks rooting and thinking of you both and of course one very special and fantastic companion. Big woof for him. Stay safe, well and happy travelling twosome.

Winston is so Cute!!!! As you said in past video, he is the Star of the show. Sorry for the bad weather and your finger, that just ruins things. Thanks for the videos. They are fun.
It gives me joy to see how happy Winston is. He really is living his best life with you. His helicopter tail always makes me smile ❤ Glad you were both able to make the most of it after a miserable day.
It has been a rubbish old summer. It's lovely to have the sun, but I'd have been thinking... at least it means fewer other people about. Winston was so loving that run .... bet he slept like a log that night.
Rain and wind is very common in the Summer in the Outer Hebrides (on and off). It is part of that West Coast Atlantic climate. Winston is very cute! Thanks for the video.
Another video means another LONG week before your next one... So sad to see you down and hurt but awesome to watch the bit on Winston woofing happily and you laughing at him... Remember the joy there and cherish it.. Till your next video then... ❤❤❤❤
Even though you kept putting your middle finger up , I still gave you the thumbs up !😜 Watching you make up the bed , I’m so grateful for my fixed double in my motorhome. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic scenery and as always great comentry. Definitely one of your busiest days yet and I bet you both slept well that night. Cadbury caramel well deserved. And if its any comfort to you and Winston, I poo better when not on a lead 😂 stay safe, well and happy travelling twosome ❤

Disagree. Although parts of the Outer Hebrides are lovely, even if the sun was shining for the whole month that I toured the islands, I think there are better places on the mainland (which don't require a 5-hour ferry to get to).
@@Roz.S I think if you had good weather which happens from time to time you may like it more. It depends what you are looking for. I’d leave the mainland in a heartbeat for North Uist. I hope it’s gets better.

Hey Roz. Another great vid. Don't apologise for moaning about the weather; I live in NE Scotland, so wind and rain are frequent here - I understand your frustrations completely!! Hey Mark, thanks so much for generously supporting my channel. I'll make sure to use it to get Winston and me some extra treats 😋 I do try to not let the weather affect me. It can get tiresome at times with the climate especially in the Outer Hebrides. But, as you said, Winston was enjoying himself and that sure makes it enjoyable at a distance. I hope the weather gets better for you by next week.

It’s early morning on Thursday 12th September and I’m watching your video in bed. Got a nice cuppa and…..a dog under the duvet. Love hearing you moaning about the weather because we are all British and love our weather..not. The scenery round the Hebrides is stunning and when you look back you will see what we see in comfort whilst we watch. Love the video as usual and little Winston is a joy. Keep your chin up Roz.
Aww Roz, that looked like a shyte day, the weather is so depressing this year, ive only got out in the tent for 2 nights and 1 of them was in the garden with Remi dog to see how she would be ( she was fine). But thankfully you got out for a bike ride and Winston had a good run, I laughed at your comment about his rse, the tail was like a propeller. Looking fwd to the next episode.
Thank you, I'm feeling a tad stronger every day. You and Winston must live life to the full, even on days when things don't go as you want, have a moan and go for a walk. Keep safe ❤️
Hope your finger is ok , wanted to give you a hug. The weather is a pain , fingers crossed you get some good weather. Take care love from Caroline Butler ❤
Weirdly we just got back from the Hebrides a couple of weeks ago and the weather was fantastic. Maybe it was just after your trip. Absolutely pure blue skies for 2 weeks then a little rain on the last 2 days. The beaches are unbelievable.
I was in the Hebrides May-June, about 3-4 weeks in total and the weather was crap the whole time 😂😂 I could probably count on one hand how many times I saw the sun 😅😅
I think being on an island sends your brain a bit funny when the weather isn't great. I think it's the never ending grey skies. When I stopped on Tiree my brain was craving bright colours by the time I went home. It felt like fingers down a chalk board inside my brain. A bit of blue sky does wonders!
@Roz.S it's a pleasure. I love your content. You seem the type of person I could hang out with, but we wouldn't want to actually hang out because we both like dogs more than people.
I totally sympathise. I am in Derbyshire now for a week in a campervan and it hasn’t stopped raining with strong winds. Can’t do half of what I planned on doing. Take care and keep up the videos,
Hi Roz, just watched your latest video. Good you got over your bad day. Lucky your finger did not get more damaged,it could have almost chopped it off, with that strong wind. Good you went for a ride on your bike. Hope the weather improves for the rest of your adventures. Winston is so lovable, and funny with his antics. Take care, and keep safe, best wishes Tim Melbourne.
It could have been a lot worse. I think I realized that my finger was in the door just milliseconds before it slammed shut, and I slowed it down a bit. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
I sympathize entirely , I have had quite a few nights of endless rain and huge winds blattering my caravan , as I am very close to a main road with lots of ferry traffic , so a nights sleep is sometimes impossible but heck I'm on holiday , so lying in to make up for it is possible for me , I spent almost 40 hrs in The NHS so lots of early rises , but heck we all get these off days and sometimes the weather can be a bit naff , so chin up , you are doing sterling work , taking us with you on all your adventures , as for the £30 fine , could be worse , we have all done it , we ended up in the pedestrian area in the middle of Carlisle town centre , with caravan in tow , but managed to escape without a fine , don't think that would be possible nowadays , all the joys of life's experiences and in those days , couldn't even blame SatNav , it was my map reading skills 😊❤😊 really enjoying your videos , they are top notch 😊❤😊
Hiya Roz! Regarding the draught at your door and depending on the surface, you could do one of these things. You could use magnets(strong ones) to attach a towel,or a spring loaded curtain pole or suction cups with hooks attached. You had me laughing at your moaning because this is Britain and we have inclement weather! I have pictures of me on beach hols in UK with swimming costume and cardigan on(more years ago than I care to remember). I hope your finger is fully healed. As you've said better you than Winston but neither would have been preferable. Oh, I see you like rhubarb yogurt and custard doughnuts(snap).Thank you and Winston for the beach tour even when it was windy.Safe travels.See you on the next.
Thanks so much. My fingers is all good now and you wouldn't now anything happened to it 👍🏼 When it comes to yoghurts, doughnuts, chocolate, or treats of any kind, I have no preference 😂😂🙈 I'll eat them all!! Thanks so much for watching.
I remember my first time in the Outer Hebrides, stuck on Lewis for a couple of months on a job and absolutely hating it. But then the sun came out and a Hebridean heatwave set in for several weeks. The magic arrived and suddenly I was hooked on the place. Sure its been a terrible summer all over, not least out there, and it's generally windy all the time on those Atlantic coasts. But I hope you both found some of 'the magic' along the way. Watch out for those LEZ zones, they're everywhere now. 🤦🏻
Ouch! Bet Winston doesn’t mind the weather. Helmet as I say to my grandkids no excuse, a crash on grass can hurt the head and result in a nasty cut, I was young once and didn’t wear a helmet but quickly learnt. Funny story out riding with a mate and it was raining and I came off my bike on a corner and my mate road over me including my head but by this time I was wearing a helmet which split. Take care.
I got fed up with continually rearranging seat cushions to form a bed in my small vintage campervan, a Devon Caravette. So I bought a small tent to sleep in and keep the campervan as a living/dining room. One of these pods might be a better idea. It would save me having to put up a tent. Even better would be a teardrop caravan in which you only sleep. I think this is the best arrangement, a small campervan and a teardrop. I have to say, though, that I am a summer campervaner. I don't do winters. I admire your fortitude.
Oh I am so sorry you hurt yourself!!!!!! It hurts like heck and it really can dampen your mood. Take care of yourself. About your mood - I know living in Canada come the end of March beginning of April if you don't start getting some sunshine it can really get you down. I can't even begin to imagine what my mood would be like if it was still like that at the end of May!
We've all moaned about the weather this year. You're too hard on yourself Roz, it's a long trip, there will be off days. If you pretended to be high all the time it would be weird. I'm thoroughly enjoying the realism in your vlog. All fantastic. Keep going!
I probably did need a break at this point, but I was a 5 hour ferry plus a 300mile drive away from home and I was in the middle of a 2 month trip 🙇🏻♀️ So, I had my bad day, and then the next day I turned thing around and continued my adventure 😀
That's the thing about the West of Scotland, it's stormy on bad days and windy on good days. Dundee, on the east side, in fact has more sunshine hours than Swansea.
Thanks Roz. I was there in September and I remember the wind. I visited several beaches and thought there was not much difference between them. All nice for walking but too cold to go in the water. See you on the next one. ilona
Love the quote you put up, it’s a bad day not a bad life… We have just returned from South Devon where the weather was nothing but shocking, we got 4 good days out of 14….. Unfortunately our weather up here is unpredictable… Anyway we welcome You & Winston to Scotland 🏴 I hope you enjoy the switch…. Looking forward to next Wednesday
You poor thing having a finger-squash during a mood-slump. There’s a lot of nerve-endings in the fingers, so it is disproportionately ouch-y when they get injured…plus, because we use them for so many things, it’s awkward not to have them doing full-duty…and it’s a constant reminder that we had a bad day! That said Winston was sooooo squeaky with excitement when he had an old-school bike adventure! Such a happy dog…there is nothing as lovely as the happy bum bum of a doggo ! Maybe Winston has similar philosophical musings in his bike trailer, when he gets to be behind you for once!!! 😆
@@Roz.S that would be nicer for you too! I think the bikes with carriers at the front are called Dutch cargo bikes, but (if Winston would allow the indignity of being lifted up and down) you could probably make do with a butchers bike (big strong platform 'basket' up front instead of a traditional basket) my dog is 26 kg... I'm looking at electric assist, front cargo bikes. Expensive little toy!
Oh dear Roz, this must be your toughest vlog with you going down with a bout of ‘cabin fever’ and a whole host of other problems for you to endure, not least a complete lack of chocolate! So pleasing to see you and Winston enjoy the bike ride.🐶🚲😃😃
Hi. Sorry you had a tough day. I hope your finger is feeling better. I just returned from camping with family and the wind blew the rear door of my van and it hit the back of my hand. You handled your injury better than I did. So, I have an ugly bruise on my hand. Your ride to the beach was lovely and Winston was so eager to go! Looking forward to next weeks episode. Take care!
Sorry to hear about your hand. I hope it’s been healing well. And I hope you managed to get the door back on your van. It’s always a fear of mine that I lose one of my doors 🙈 Thanks so much for watching and following our adventure!
Ooohhh oowwwwie - that finger looked REALLY SORE. I do not speak Afrikaans, here in SAfrica, 🇿🇦but one word that is just SOOO evocative is the word for sore - EINAAR ( pronounced AAYYYNAAAAAAAAAR ) it is just Soo RIGHT when you are hurt 😂😂😂😂 Don't worry about the weather moans - we are all miz when it's cold, windy and rainy 🦋
Another great adventure everyone gets down about the bad weather at least you turned your froun upside down and enjoyed your self in the second part Winston seemed to have fun all the time 😊 god love him do not forget to give him lots of treats he one thing he will love is dried tripe
Love your vlogs Roz & totally admire you for taking off & travelling the country with just Winston for company! He is my favourite youtuber & always makes me smile! We have a working cocker called Bonnie & she is just like Winston - never happier than when she's outdoors with a ball in her mouth!😆
Roz, just imagine being in a tent in the same weather or worse, ive been there, in spring too and late summer!!! if thats a southerly/arctic wind, i wouldnt go anywere near the coasy, ive froze half to death like that! yea, ive trapped my fingers in a car door before, worst pain id felt.
I too was in Scotland same time as you, staying in Speyside for the whole of June. It was wet most of June and it does get you down. Just had to make the most of it as its a long way from my home on the south coast of Dorset.
I was at Harris and Lewis end of Aug early sept with my 2 dogs in a vw T4, the locals said it’s the worst summer they’ve had since the 1920’s. It’s hard when you can’t dry anything and stuck in a small area. Traveled all the islands last year from Eriskay to Butt of Lewis and only had a couple of bad days .
I think there might be a bit too much talking (and moaning 🙈) in the first half of this vlog, 🤔but don't worry, the second half is better (if you make it that far 😂)

@Roz.S it's a pleasure. I love your content. You seem the type of person I could hang out with, but we wouldn't want to actually hang out because we both like dogs more than people.
Absolutely beautiful areas you have visited, plus also the best company with you 🐕❤
Sometimes when I am watching your vlogs all i want to do is hug you or just be there so your not facing things alone. ❤
Winston's tail let us know he was OK without the sunshine. Glad things perked up for you. I see a hint of blues skies in the next episode. Hooray!!
Good luck with the rest of the trip, and the weather.
Loving being with you both on your adventure, could be the best episode yet 🥰 , wind Grrrrrr….. most annoying of the elements😡
Top video. Winston beautiful dog. Love this x
Ouch, your poor finger! Bad luck with the ghastly weather. That bike ride looked fun though! And Winston looked to be having a wonderful time.
Chin up Roz still looks great up there enjoy your time away ❤
Joy
Believe it or not, this was a summer trip 😂😂
You can get very small trailers with just a bed inside. That would be ideal 👍🏼
Keep going!
Just came across this and think maybe you need a break. Cute dog! I stayed tune and the second half was much better. Will tune in again.
I probably did need a break at this point, but I was a 5 hour ferry plus a 300mile drive away from home and I was in the middle of a 2 month trip 🙇🏻♀️ So, I had my bad day, and then the next day I turned thing around and continued my adventure 😀
@@Roz.S glad you are better. Enjoy! Winston is the cutest!!
Winston has his own little propeller !! 😂
That's the thing about the West of Scotland, it's stormy on bad days and windy on good days. Dundee, on the east side, in fact has more sunshine hours than Swansea.
It’s a good job I moved to the east side of Scotland then 😂😂👍🏼
What a shame. Scotland is so beautiful but you do need the weather. This year has been particularly bad with the weather
I love that phrase "just a bad day not a bad life" . . Hope your finger is ok , looked bent .
It's fully healed now. And upon closer inspection, both of my middle fingers are a bit bent 😂😂
I think Winston would enjoy the bike trailer a lot more if he could ride up front 😂
Great vlog even the moaning about the weather and your poor finger a cuddle from Winston and all will be well
just came across your channel, love the honest and straightforward approach! keep it real. ✌️🙏🥂
I appreciate that! Thanks so much for watching 👍🏼
Oh dear Roz, this must be your toughest vlog with you going down with a bout of ‘cabin fever’ and a whole host of other problems for you to endure, not least a complete lack of chocolate! So pleasing to see you and Winston enjoy the bike ride.🐶🚲😃😃
Always disappointed when it ends . Big hugs ❤ xxxxx
Great video again Roz , you always bring a smile to my face, and I am hoping Winston tail doesn’t fall off it never stops😂 take care of the finger 👍
Chin up. On a positive note. I would love to do the adventure you’re having and seeing everything. Nice watch. All the best.
Winston's impatient bark is class.. 😃
I hope you’ve restocked with chocolate and yummy biscuits! Winston has yummy snacks and you should too! All done at the co-op!
I got some Cadbury Caramel bars 😋
Haha, Winston says "you ain't leaving me in the pod, I'm the star of this show.
Another great adventure everyone gets down about the bad weather at least you turned your froun upside down and enjoyed your self in the second part Winston seemed to have fun all the time 😊 god love him do not forget to give him lots of treats he one thing he will love is dried tripe
Looking forward to your next adventure
Winston....part dog part helicopter....amazed he doesn't take off with that tail🚁
