PSA Just to deliver some context to the current content situation: there are a lot of constructed uploads because Trump is preparing for the 2nd seat story cup (which BTW is almost next door here in germany so maybe I will pay Trump a visit and pet his head) so he simply didn't play any arena at all. He laddered excessively the past few days with different decks to gather data and figure out which decks he will submit to the tournament. I feel like I am repeating myself but please spare us all the "where is arena" "please do arena" comments. Depending on whats going on there will always be weeks where Trump simply is focused on other stuff - if you are not interested in any other content you subscribed to the wrong channel. EDIT: oh but maybe some people will be happy to hear that the 2nd iDraft episode is almost ready - just waiting for Trump to send me the scores for the picks. ~ Jens
Love both of you guys and the work you do! Seriously my favourite editing/HS playing duo I've ever had the pleasure of viewing. Everyone else I seem to view is too cocky and I can't seem to handle it. Thanks again Jens
HardyWiz Don't see how saying he's probably further in the ladder is fanboying when it is most likely true? Hindsight is 20/20, and you really can't blame people for making mistakes in videos unless it's incredibly obvious. They have to concentrate on commentary and gameplay at the same time normally, which opens up people for more mistakes. Hindsight is 20/20. That being said, i don't quite agree with how chad's retort.
Game 1 is a perfect example of why I don't run Lay On Hands. If you get it in the early-to-mid game, you don't have the mana to play it, nor have you taken the damage to warrant it. If you get it too late in the late game, you draw too much and you're at risk of losing a fatigue war. The timing window in which it can be useful is too narrow.
Jens, I was wondering if you thought it would be a good idea to add a little notation when Trump forgets things, such as ~7:30 he forgot if his opponent played 1 or 2 taskmasters, maybe put a note for the answer? I dunno if it's worth the extra work though.
playing against paladins, at any level, is always interesting. I't usually boils down to a game of baiting out all his answers for me as an opposing controlly player
TheAmberFang he had equality + 3 guys out ... :/ that play kinda cost him the game. Had he BGHd he wouldnt have lost that brawl as hard. a second thing is, he shld have realized that an esecute was still there and not copied dmged version. Still sh1t happens its just easier to see after the game
TheAmberFang Flooding the board with 1/1s made Ragnaros nowhere near as much of a threat as Fatigue death. Especially since, given that he knew the guy didn't have Alex, why assume he has Rag?
Paladin is one of the strongest classes in the game, but it's also one of the most difficult to play if running a control deck, probably why people see a lot of rush decks on the ladder. I'm running Avenging Wrath instead of Lay on Hands after losing more than once due to decking out. Love watching you play, learned a lot throughout the last months, thanks.
OK this deck seems really good against warrior for the most part...but what about handlock and priest match ups? I've only seen Trump playing against warriors with this so far.
Hearthstone really needs "For Fun" modes. Alliance VS Horde - randomly picked from pre-made Horde or Alliance decks face each other. (I don't know what's horde or alliance cards so probably unbalanced). NPC battles - once a week, an NPC is in the tavern and you can access each one with a gold payment (1 payment to unlock for the week), it's then revealed which NPC it is and they'd have unique hero powers based off the in-game card but otherwise normal decks. Reward would scale with difficulty. 1 attempt per day, and when you win 1 week that's it for that week, so it's not a freebie and there is still a chance of losing the gold buy-in. Oh and ffs more than 9 deck slots already! So fucking pointless to restrict that with the excuse "People would get confused", have us sign a "I am not a moron" Agreement and give us more slots! Anyone that runs all 9 Classes knows how badly it restricts trying different decks. In other news: 20 dust off crafting a legendary and the pack I open has cenarius in it. Now i'm 5 dust off... still no idea which one I want, tempted to save for the expansion to have a headstart. Current Legendaries: Cenarius, The Beast, Hogger, Gelbin and the Naxx ones.
28:49 Why you kill Ysera? You could face copy it one into your deck then use the Dwarf Hunter to destroy Ysera…then spawn other squiremen but why kill Ysera??
In that final match, Would it not have been better to hit Grommash with a SHR, Faceless it, then BGH? You'd have gaurenteed a minion alive on your side of the field, regardless of the outcome of Brawl.
he had one rag left, so the best play would have been enrage, faceless, equality, clear and face, because you only lose to wirlwind which I don't know a lot you use 2 of them.
i have a question on something i've seen him doing before. Why at 3:55 didn't he use hero power? He said that he didn't want a silverhand recruit around, but why?
While you're correct about the 5 health being a bit of a down side, its still with having a 2/3 minion on turn 1. Its the same reason why Flame Imp can be considered very good. Life doesn't matter too much if you have high value creatures on the field.
It almost seems like, during these match ups, that card draw is bad. Trump often ends up needing to use cards just to not overdraw, and the warrior doesn't use cards much either. So why not get rid of lay on hands or an acolyte? There seems to be no need to get value draw so just cycle them. Also, there seems to be no disadvantage to the warrior drawing cards, so why not make their acolytes draw 3 cards? The extra card won't matter and they will overdraw and fatigue that much sooner.
Because those cards are probably extremely helpful in other matchups. It wouldn't make sense to toss them out just because of a single control warrior.
The mistake in the last game was playing the aldor. It would've been worth it to burn chow to keep the aldor. If he had played it vs black knight then he'd have a chance to kill it for "free", rather than trading a 3/3 a 3/2 into it.
Why can I not find Zombie Chow anywhere in my library ? I know I don't have it in there, but it also isn't showing up when I try to disenchant cards to create it ...
Kind of new to the game, but why don't warriors carry whirlwind or pyro to deal with the pally's 1/1's? Isn't whirldwind really good combined with the many enrage minions warrior has? I've heard the 1/1's are the death of warrior but don't really get why.
topherno Unstable Ghoul and Abomination are counters to murloc decks and zoo, which barely see any play in the current meta. They are not run in many decks for that reason anymore.
You should have seen that acolyte would cause you to overdraw and shouldn't have used lay on hands, that probably was the reason you lost the game. Still nice matches, allways happy to watch control pala games
Hi, I'm having a problem here, since yesterday youtube videos (not all of them) are not working, buffering but not playing. Please someone help, i couldn't watch any hearthstone content so far.
All the legendarys in this deck are "important" But if you don't have some you can always find substitutes that work. For example a cheap substitute for tirion, is sunwalker. Carine - Boulderfist Ogre, TBK - Another guardian of kings or another boulderfist Ogre.
Tirion is 100%. Black knight is very strong in the current meta, although still situational. Cairne is just an all around threat, though is slow. Tirion is the only one that is NEEDED for control pally.
Black knight is mostly for belcher, Tirion or sunwalker so if you don't see much of those you don't need it. Cairne and Tirion are not the center of the deck strategy so they are just add-ons. Replacing them wouldn't hurt too much.
Disappointed ,so many misplays but i learned a lot . Better to get rid of Chow and put a Blessing of Might ,then buff the enemy minion like Yesra and kill it with Big game hunter. Shade of Naxxramas is also good for paladin ,buff and Faceless it :)
I don't think it's necessary to run anymore cards to fend off control Warrior or other control decks in general, as Paladin already is so highly favored. It's better to have that one Zombie Chow or some early game thing so you have something to mulligan for against faster decks.
@description dun wurry, m8 :D i pee'd befoet his video uploaded also does anyone know if pally can ever run out of guys? the worlds population has gotta end somewhere...
I think running chows in this deck is wrong. It's a great card, don't get me wrong, but I'm starting to get the impression Trump values it a bit too highly, putting it in every single deck I see him play
So many decks I can't play because of ysera / cairne. I have all the shitty legendaries though! millhouse, deathwing, sea giant, tinkmaster, malygos...
***** No he has a much higher than 1/15 chance. If you mulligan hard for chow you get 7 draws before turn 1 (or 9 draws if you go second). This means Mulliganing hard for chow you have a ~40% chance of drawing it for turn 1 play going first and a ~48% of drawing it for turn 1 play going second.
Still, if I had to pick an early game minion in my paladin deck (Which I do), I would put the Brew Master. If you don't get it early it's still a great card to brew a big game hunter/kodo/aldor and more.
***** 1/15 chance for the first card to be, but you get to see 3 starting cards, mulligan them for another 3, and draw a card, so its 7/15 chance and if you start with coin its 9/15 (50%+)
Seems like the chows just dead weight in that deck IMO. Not even referring to the fact it lost him that last game it just didn't do anything relevant. It just dousnt seem to serve any purpose. Its at its best in Zoo/Aggro matchup but is the minor benefit it adds in those matchups which are decided by drawing your board clears anyway.worth the dead weight? Seems like its worth considering cutting it for Harrison or just another solid minion like Harvest golem or another earthen ring.
I really can't understand why some people like this Zombie Chow so much, I can see it as a good card in a Priest or any deck with Alexstrasza, but that is it, if anything this card hurts more than helps.
Life is a resource. If you can win board control, say, with a 1 drop with amazing stats, you can easily make up the 5 health they may or may not even get.
why not throw a guy at grom to enrage him, and kill him with BGH. It leaves you with a 4-2 guy and your chow would've survived. You can equallity the rag if he plays it next.
Korlis Its impossible to be more vulnerable to brawl than what actually happened, his board is cleared and the opponent has a minion left. with no minion on the opponents side Trump could not have possibly had a board as bad as what actually happened.

What's constructed mean
Jens x Trump OTP :D
Jake Howe ranked matches. but specificly playing populair decks like handlock, healadin, rampdruid, etc.
Ranked is fun to watch as well, BTW I didn't know there were two people running this channel pretty cool to see!
The misplays are real.
he can play how he wants he's probably been farther in the ranking than you have ever been
chad david fanboy much?
HardyWiz Don't see how saying he's probably further in the ladder is fanboying when it is most likely true? Licras97 or he could be talking about the warrior or both
Which misplays?
OMG Trump!! What a game! The suspense had me sucked in! Haha
At the end, he should have just straight up facelessed the gromash and then attacked with the 1/1 minions and then bgh.
Game 1 is a perfect example of why I don't run Lay On Hands. If you get it in the early-to-mid game, you don't have the mana to play it, nor have you taken the damage to warrant it. But if you do get it off you get card and health advantage.
PokerJoker811 It does save the day some times.
PokerJoker811 Yeah dude fatikuing. Fatique. You get many cards from it though and you can get an advantage. also you get loads of Health.
I accepted the challenge but my bladder exploded and now I'm in the hospital. Thanks Jens
Control Vs. Control essentially boils down to both heroes glaring threateningly at each other until they fatigue.
Once again an awesome video Trump, love them =)
Jens, I was wondering if you thought it would be a good idea to add a little notation when Trump forgets things, such as ~7:30 he forgot if his opponent played 1 or 2 taskmasters, maybe put a note for the answer? I dunno if it's worth the extra work though.
Great idea for a challenge. Especially since I just drank a ton of alcohol. Hard mode activated.
15:30 Carine changed he's words?? Whoa,I know he got killed by Grommosh, but that's really interesting to know
Certain Ledgendaries say special intros to certain classes
Mineboost
I know of Cairne and Illidan, but are there any others?
playing against paladins, at any level, is always interesting. I't usually boils down to a game of baiting out all his answers for me as an opposing controlly player
no BGH at 30:35??
He was waiting for Ragnaros because Humility/Aldor doesn't do anything to stop that, while those answers do something against Grom.
TheAmberFang
Flooding the board with 1/1s made Ragnaros nowhere near as much of a threat as Fatigue death. Especially since, given that he knew the guy didn't have Alex, why assume he has Rag?
fear of brawl ...
He would still be left with only one guy of his own and he can't rag + brawl in 1 turn
THAT AMOUNT OF LEGENDAAARRIEEEEEEESSSSSSS
Why is he running chow in the first place? Control Paladin doesnt need any 1 drops at :/
Cause chow is great control value and 99% of games don't come down to fatigue.
Kiki Rogers Playing Control, Trust me... Fatigue happens pretty often, A bit uncommon, But often enough.
Kiki Rogers With my control Paladin ~ 20-30% of the games go to fatigue
It is amazing against agro. And there are LOTS of hunters about.
Watching this in increased speed is hilarious
Paladin is one of the strongest classes in the game, but it's also one of the most difficult to play if running a control deck, probably why people see a lot of rush decks on the ladder. I'm running Avenging Wrath instead of Lay on Hands after losing more than once due to decking out.

Did not know that there was a challenge...but I guess I did it!
Hearthstone: The Pinnacle of Control = ResidentSleeper
That first match was epic
listen to trump on .5 speed... he sounds like he's high xD
22:37 did trump just make an Archer reference?
I cracked up at peekaboo.
I feel like an overdraw should allow you to choose which card to get rid of, rather than immediately losing the card you would have drawn.
Acolyte hurt, but I thought you would have used faceless on the Ysera over grom when there are no cards left.
Acolyte of pain sounds like he is rapping on 1.5 speed lol
The first thing that popped into my mind was enrage Gromish then BGH it. Why didn't he consider BGH after Faceless?
OK this deck seems really good against warrior for the most part...but what about handlock and priest match ups? I've only seen Trump playing against warriors with this so far.
It's good against handlock as far as I know.
Hearthstone really needs "For Fun" modes.

29:02 how did he make grom say "Peekaboo"?
i have a question on something i've seen him doing before. Why at 3:55 didn't he use hero power? He said that he didn't want a silverhand recruit around, but why?
That would've given the warrior extra draw through the acolyte of pain :)
+Coops Randoq that one play may have helped lose the game
Is it me, or does Zombie Chow seem to do more harm than good when you play it late-game? That 5 health can often make the difference.
While you're correct about the 5 health being a bit of a down side, its still with having a 2/3 minion on turn 1. Its the same reason why Flame Imp can be considered very good. Life doesn't matter too much if you have high value creatures on the field.
ringboy2008 he said in late game chow is early game as you said but late game chow is beneficial to the enemy unless your playing zoo
lostonthewayhere Yeah, that's true. It's not so good minions lol. only tryhards play it
was that hellscream an edit, right?
It almost seems like, during these match ups, that card draw is bad. Trump often ends up needing to use cards just to not overdraw, and the warrior doesn't use cards much either. Best HS feeling for me: killing a Northshire Cleric or Mana Worm with a Fiery Waraxe
(sorry if bad spelling)
Or an undertaker.
Mana wyrm coin mirror
Cleaving 2 Undertakers on turn 2
Ragnaros snipe when Onyxia is on the table.
when your opponent pyroblasts a 1/1
trump should had used the big game hunter on the grom hellscream...with that said, control warriors are always a pita to deal with....
in the last game why diddnt he bgh grom after faceless?
Challenge completed!
The mistake in the last game was playing the aldor. It would've been worth it to burn chow to keep the aldor. If he had played it vs black knight then he'd have a chance to kill it for "free", rather than trading a 3/3 a 3/2 into it.
Chow was such a game changer :s
Why can I not find Zombie Chow anywhere in my library ? I know I don't have it in there, but it also isn't showing up when I try to disenchant cards to create it ...
It's a naxx card.. I think u have to buy the expansion, you know blizzard.
Drsteezymcgee I have the expansion lol
WELL PLAYED!
What is that stuff that tell you which card you have played and what is left?
What does he mean at 3:50 when he says it be wasting his last 2 mana on a guy? Why not just summon him?
Does anyone know if Trump updated his arena tier list for the Naxxramus set?
You should do a challenge for every video
If I don't have a black knight what could I replace it with in my decks
question: why no guy after facelessing silvanas?
He should have played the bgh with the faceless to prevent the destruction of the zombie
i agree could have won the game
+Rob The Quick He WOULD have won. Trump pls :(
Kind of new to the game, but why don't warriors carry whirlwind or pyro to deal with the pally's 1/1's? Isn't whirldwind really good combined with the many enrage minions warrior has? I've heard the 1/1's are the death of warrior but don't really get why.
Or unstable Ghoul like i just saw in this vid. Seems like a pretty good answer to a lot of "guys"?
topherno
Unstable Ghoul and Abomination are counters to murloc decks and zoo, which barely see any play in the current meta. They are not run in many decks for that reason anymore.
don't understand why he didn't use the bgh to kill hellscream. Something i missed?
Saving for ragnaros
28:30 faceless Ysera? 3:30 why not just BGH it ? or use equality?
Is miracle rouge dead ? I haven't seen anyone using it recently
The game sound is a little too loud on this one isnt it ?
what's the overlay for the deck used on this video? thanks
bgh the enraged gromash?
awesome game against Guss ._.
You should have seen that acolyte would cause you to overdraw and shouldn't have used lay on hands, that probably was the reason you lost the game.
Still nice matches, allways happy to watch control pala games
Why was Guss's hero golden?
ahahahahahahahahahaha laughing soooo hard with the optional challenge
why do you use the zombie chow in your deck?
I won the challenge:) I wish my handlock games vs control warrior were that slow yet they insist to go for my face.
What do think I craft form epics or I hold up to craft legendary
I Have 700 dust
Was holy light actually played??
11:55 why not lay on hands?
Hi,
I'm having a problem here, since yesterday youtube videos (not all of them) are not working, buffering but not playing.
Please someone help, i couldn't watch any hearthstone content so far.
he seems heart broken that chow lost him the game
who is best: rag, ysera or bloodhoof?
oh jens why are you doing that?! :( these games are awesome to watch but it always hurts to see trump lose especially when the games are that great
are tirion, cairne and black knight very important?
All the legendarys in this deck are "important" But if you don't have some you can always find substitutes that work. For example a cheap substitute for tirion, is sunwalker. Carine - Boulderfist Ogre, TBK - Another guardian of kings or another boulderfist Ogre.
Tirion is 100%. Black knight is very strong in the current meta, although still situational. Cairne is just an all around threat, though is slow. Tirion is the only one that is NEEDED for control pally.
just put in magma rage twice. it should do it
Black knight is mostly for belcher, Tirion or sunwalker so if you don't see much of those you don't need it. Cairne and Tirion are not the center of the deck strategy so they are just add-ons. Replacing them wouldn't hurt too much.
SegundaEtappa Have you forgotten about Wisp? That will win you games single handedly.
I peed myself.....
I miss arena + teaching S:
Disappointed ,so many misplays but i learned a lot .
Better to get rid of Chow and put a Blessing of Might ,then buff the enemy minion like Yesra and kill it with Big game hunter.
Shade of Naxxramas is also good for paladin ,buff and Faceless it :)
Sooo...you're rank Leper Gnome.
yes we were all , started from 9 this month .
I don't think it's necessary to run anymore cards to fend off control Warrior or other control decks in general, as Paladin already is so highly favored. It's better to have that one Zombie Chow or some early game thing so you have something to mulligan for against faster decks.
So rank 25is the highest rank?
@description dun wurry, m8 :D i pee'd befoet his video uploaded
also does anyone know if pally can ever run out of guys? the worlds population has gotta end somewhere...
Love ur vids!
"Value crime" ohh Trump :')
I think running chows in this deck is wrong. It's a great card, don't get me wrong, but I'm starting to get the impression Trump values it a bit too highly, putting it in every single deck I see him play
Late game it's pretty shit but it still is the best 1 drop in the game you just need to draw it through turn 1-3
So many decks I can't play because of ysera / cairne. I have all the shitty legendaries though! millhouse, deathwing, sea giant, tinkmaster, malygos...
With Malygos you can always experiment with Miracle Rogue, and Zoo and Hunter are very cheap decks that may well be some of the strongest in the meta.
Deathwing isn't shitty, you are
How do you get so you can see you'r cards to the left
and its your, not you'r...
where did you get the idea to start writing you'r?
28:50 why you no faceless );
I don't see how those 2 zombie chow are good in the deck.
A deck with barely any minions to play has 2 with a huge drawback.....Use 2 kodo!
They're to counter aggro.
In control v control you don't really care about enemy health, so chow is good
***** No he has a much higher than 1/15 chance.
*****
1/15 chance for the first card to be, but you get to see 3 starting cards, mulligan them for another 3, and draw a card, so its 7/15 chance and if you start with coin its 9/15 (50%+)
Seems like the chows just dead weight in that deck IMO. Not even referring to the fact it lost him that last game it just didn't do anything relevant. It just dousnt seem to serve any purpose. Trump how come you don't use golden cards
Trump you should of when he played grommash hit silver hand knight faceless Bhg he uses execute brawl you get some value having a minion the Alford
Alguien sabe por cual carta podria remplazar al caballero oscuro? Es la unica carta que me falta parq completar el mazo u.u
I would have facelessed the armorsmith. Every guy = 1 hp. Op.
"Peekaboo! :D"
I really can't understand why some people like this Zombie Chow so much, I can see it as a good card in a Priest or any deck with Alexstrasza, but that is it, if anything this card hurts more than helps.
Life is a resource. If you can win board control, say, with a 1 drop with amazing stats, you can easily make up the 5 health they may or may not even get.
the brawl... what the hell?
First comment in 8 years, watching old hearthstone vids because 2024 HS is too chaotic
I stopped playing a year ago maybe, going through memory lane remembering how much fun HS used to be
why not throw a guy at grom to enrage him, and kill him with BGH. It leaves you with a 4-2 guy and your chow would've survived. You can equallity the rag if he plays it next.
Vulnerable to brawl ?
Korlis Its impossible to be more vulnerable to brawl than what actually happened, his board is cleared and the opponent has a minion left.
with no minion on the opponents side Trump could not have possibly had a board as bad as what actually happened.
acolyte of pain + aly on hands sucks in that match up
why dose trump haven't got any gold hero?
trump, you nedded to use bgh not humility on gromash
If you had only BGH'ed after the faceless you would have won.
That warrior... The only way to win is not to play (anything).
