I can definitely reassure you that July’s claim that it’s suitcases can cope with cobblestones is totally true! I’ve had mine for 4 years now and travel in Europe in old town cobblestone streets for at least 3 months every year and mine has not missed a beat! I love mine too and the customer from July is exemplary! Cheers from Australia
I have the same July carry on essential, but mine’s in yellow. I love the colour and so much about it, but I was a bit gutted to find it weighs over 3.4kg, although on their website and promotional material they say it is just 3kg. Airlines in New Zealand and Australia often have a 7kg carry on weight limit, so for myself and many others, the weight of a bag or suitcase is a major factor in deciding which one to buy. The light weight of their products is one of the features they promote the most, so I really think July should provide more honest and accurate information about how much their products weigh.
Hey! Wow, I would be gutted too.. yeah I know what you mean about certain airlines -- this is definitely a deciding factor and should be measured accurately.. you actually piqued my interest so I just weighted my bag and it comes to 3.1kg... I'm not sure why such the difference In weight.. very strange. I'd be interested in watching other reviews to see if they have fluctuating weights as well. But thanks for sharing! Hopefully this comment can help someone else! ☻
I need that weekender in my life! What a great review - Sadly I have fallen victim one to many times trying to save a few bucks buying a cheap bag, only to having to replace it one or two trips later.
FYI, as soon as you get your bag, after you get off the plane, check for any damages. If any, line up to the counter and tell them. Airlines are required and will pay for fizing it or replacing it.
Thanks so much for this! Actually on this flight it was the first time someone told me about it so I did move forward with it and they did replace it *but with another brand... :( They sent a Samsonite which was the same value as my July bag but tbh I didn't like it as much. Kinda a bummer when you spend money on a brand you love and they send you whatever they have in stock.. thankfully my July replacement came in 2 days! Soooo much faster too!
I get that, I think it depends what you are looking for. If you aren't traveling that much then it is overpriced for a few uses but if you travel often -- the guarantee alone pays for the bag several times over. And as cheesy as it sounds, there really is something about the user experience of a July bag. Anytime I travel with friends and they help me with my bag I almost always get a comment about how nice the bag feels in their hand, how well I glides, etc. etc. For me my July bag has lasted longer than ANY other luggage I've owned in the 10 years of traveling - before that I was buying a new bag nearly every 6 months from airlines damaging it.

Thanks for adding your personal experience to the video! It's always nice to hear about specific situations and how the bag worked on different trips!
Just bought the carry on light expander and the weekender. Great review. Thanks! ✈️
You are such an excellent presenter
Thank you so much Luke
It would be great if you can share how much you can pack for these both combined.
