Ian, I have been listening to your stories for years and you have only improved. What a delight. Our literary ancestors would be so proud to see your work, and know they inspired you. Absolutely well done!!
Now THAT was a denouement I hadn’t expected! ….An altogether unique plot + compelling characters + a pervasive creepiness throughout = a first-rate yarn ….Bravo.
Another amazing original. I really appreciate your ability to modernize weird horror without taking the weird out of it. It's not like when a film maker tries to adapt a Lovecraft story for "modern" audience, for example. I look forward to more of your work, Ian.
Whew, what a grisly fate for the old guy. Thanks for the story, Ian and Jennifer.

That was an amazing horror story Ian! I am completely impressed. I honestly had no idea how it was going to go right up until the end! Really great work!
Oh, my! What an amazing story. The plot is amazing! This is a fantastic story. Thank you. Your descriptions of these places bring the locations to life. Great work!
I spent over a decade working in a traveling carnival. The lion tamers are long gone. Their family members remain, however. A friend of mine is the grandson of the aerialist and lion tamer Sport Matthews. Sport kept King Tuffy, one of the largest cats ever trained.
The idea of some foreign adventure casting a long shadow in England is very Conan Doyle, but also reflects the very real shadow cast by war and tropical disease. I loved it.
Thank you for another great original story I listened to this on a rainy night when my insomnia kicked in and as a Worksopian it really made me smile to hear my home town of Worksop being mentioned thanks for that
4 pm on a rather unpleasant wet and windy day. Just the right time to settle down for afternoon tea ( Assam tea and a couple of slices of Tea loaf ) and a listen to the latest HorrorBabble tale. Splendid ! Just finished listening, and all I can say is that this is one of your best yet ! The ending was completely unexpected, and nicely horrible !
If everyone stops talking and thinking about it Warren will neither be dead or alive. 📦 Tank you HorrorBabble, thank you Ian for all the wonderful stories.
Wonderfully fantabulous, I have got to admit I’m mostly here for your Lovecraft readings but this one is great, it’s like a weird tales story with an air of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five. I love how you managed to insert your own authorial voice into the story. I’m glad you shared this one with us! Bonus points 4 big cats🦁
Nice one 😜, really enjoyed it,the guy's were Great as always you hit the nail on the head. Hard times hard measure. Quite true. Please don't stop with the original content from you Ian ,it's always a pleasure.❤
Wait. Wait wait wait wait wait...Ian...you wrote this?! Holy shit...this is amazing. Usually, scary stories mostly give me an odd sense of comfort...this one genuinely spooked me. Well done!
Damn! He stuffed him in the box with the ruby and left him there as revenge for stealing the ruby? That's cold-blooded. You'd think he'd be grateful he stole the ruby and prevented him from being cursed.
Ive been listening to Ian Gorden for about 3 years now and out of all the stories written and told my favorites are the one of the imfamous P.I Peter Van Melsen. But one in particular has caught my interest as of late which is "Tentacles" Where a young man named Miles Gorden a P.I (like Van Melsen) went on investigation of a certain house from his past and ended up disappearing. For a long time now i've wondered what if Van Melsen was to look into his disappearance i mean he did find Murphy after all. I know its unlikely but would make for a rather interesting story
Your accent while lovely, or should I say "luveley", can be a kind of sport. For instance, I thought you said Carl Rove, and they went for a drink at the Probe. 😊
Ian, I have been listening to your stories for years and you have only improved. What a delight. Our literary ancestors would be so proud to see your work, and know they inspired you.
Absolutely well done!!
Last time I was this early Warren was still alive
😂
Lol😂😂😂😂
Well done 😂

A new story but even better a story by Ian!!!
You are the premier weird tale author of our generation!! Thanks Ian!!
Another amazing original. I really appreciate your ability to modernize weird horror without taking the weird out of it. It's not like when a film maker tries to adapt a Lovecraft story for "modern" audience, for example. I look forward to more of your work, Ian.
Hooray an IanBabble! My favorites.
Loving it so far. It's wonderfully grounded while still being dreamlike with the lion who chews rubies!? Amazing.
Right on! Another story by and narrated by Mr. Gordon himself! Thank you! ❤👍
Whew, what a grisly fate for the old guy. Thanks for the story, Ian and Jennifer.
That was an amazing horror story Ian! I am completely impressed. I honestly had no idea how it was going to go right up until the end! Really great work!
Love the originals!!
Absolutely amazing story I did not see the ending happening like it did. Very well done old chap
Ian, that story was sooo good! The ending was bone chilling and I didn't see it coming. I hope to find a book of yours someday❤

It's so much fun to watch the views and likes go up in real time. Love your work Ian.
You write like Ian Gordon. Which is a good thing. A real good thing. Great story and narration.
To quote a legendary American newscaster: that escalated quickly! Going from strength to strength though Ian, this was very well crafted.
I spent over a decade working in a traveling carnival. The lion tamers are long gone. Their family members remain, however. A friend of mine is the grandson of the aerialist and lion tamer Sport Matthews. Sport kept King Tuffy, one of the largest cats ever trained.
Fascinating!
Outstanding thanks Ian much appreciated dude!:)
I honestly don't know how you come up with such amazing ideas. Wonderful story, thank you 💚
The idea of some foreign adventure casting a long shadow in England is very Conan Doyle, but also reflects the very real shadow cast by war and tropical disease. I loved it.

That was great tale and a nice rest from Van Melsen.
Not in any sense a criticism, but that one was a gem.
This is a new classic.
Bravo!!!🥳
Curious story, certain parts made me think of Van Melsen.👍🏻
Awesome work.
You tried to open that locked box again didn't you?
Great story 😊
Wait.
Wait wait wait wait wait...Ian...you wrote this?!
Holy shit...this is amazing. Usually, scary stories mostly give me an odd sense of comfort...this one genuinely spooked me.

Check out his other stories! The two christmas series about Winter Hill, the series with the hotel, and the Van Melsen stories. Ian is a good writer.
A warning to the curious perhaps 👑💎
I always welcome your entries:)
Good one !

Hmm...!
I love your originals!
Another Original? By the Outer Gods, we are lucky😭🙏🏻
Wow this is a very fine story ian
Absolute mental dessert! Eat it up ❤😊thank you for your great content! It keeps me from completely losing my sanity at work
Warren pulled a fast one on the funeral home industry.
That was a good scary story

I think I mentioned the house from Tentacles in a Van Melsen story once... But now I can't remember which story!
@@HorrorBabblesounds like I've got some digging to do!
Ian if you don't go down in history as one of the great modern Lovecraftian writers than my faith in humanity is all but lost
Ha!
@HorrorBabble from what I've heard and read it's Clark Ashton Smith, you, Lovecraft and Robert Bloch, in no particular order
Your writing kepps improving Ian.
My lunch meat drawer in my fridge...
What an unexpected ending. 😮
👍
My cat, Lord High Emperor Steven James Kitty, Esquire. aka Mr Kitty, also worships the Sky God.
And yes. That is his name on record.
Your accent while lovely, or should I say "luveley", can be a kind of sport. For instance, I thought you said Carl Rove, and they went for a drink at the Probe. 😊
Ha!
Amazing channel and a great voice💯👍🏻🙂You have a new fan and subscriber💯😊👍🏻
Welcome!
@@HorrorBabble Thanx a lot🫡
I was thinking about a bedtime snack until I got to the "Hairy, spotted with freckles, sweaty.." part...
Ugh...
Grim and grisly Ian...
Ha!
So Ian is Mick Barnes like Mick Fleetwoods alter ego? 😂
I hope not!
