Thank you for putting this on. I used to watch this movie with my dad when I was a kid, and we would go to our family cottage just me and him and we would always sit down on the couch late at night and watch this movie he passed away 3 years ago now. I forgot all about this movie till today, and it brought a tear to my eye.

There's a time rift in the sky above mojave desert, waiting for any unsuspecting plane to cross it. By the time the movie ends, several flights already ended up as langolier food. So my guess is guess the dead girl will be the least of their worries.

The passengers went to the time rift and into the past not to mention time travel to alter it, but it is to where everyone and everything is empty. why? because everyone is in the present because they are part of the present they are following reality and separate from time in a two single lines (line of time & line of reality) where nothing can travel back in time to alter and change the past.
so tomorrow (as the Future) becomes today (as the Present) and then it becomes yesterday (as the Past) so today is normal as the present the one they came from before plane takeoff and when today becomes yesterday its frozen time after everyone and everything is leaving today before reality is empty as part of the past to left it remain behind and the only way everyone is moving forward by keeping remain in the present away from the past is by always following tomorrow and then turning tomorrow into today so they can be safe for now and the past is waiting for the Langoliers to eat the past by following behind and turn it into nothing as blank. and finally the people of the present brought their own time with them and inside of the plane is the present and outside of it is the past.

You don't know, the film ended they very well could have been questioned. BUT since it's a paranormal event I'm sure it'd be covered up somehow and it would make it to the front page. Maybe so small town tabloid somewhere would have the story alongside Big Foot sighting pieces.

@@SamuelBlack84 They mentioned notifying the authorities but wanted to celebrate being back. I'm sure there is more story to tell after their happy moment. 90s films just ended things when the characters are ina good place and didn't focus on police or law enforcement. hence why in action movies cops always show up when everything is over and the movie is ending. I don't think they just 'moved on'.

I’m always so goddamn impressed with Dean Stockwell’s performance in this film as the mystery writer Bob Jenkins. That should have or could have been a truly awful character, given that he has to repeat ENDLESS amounts of stilted exposition, and it falls on him to literally explain the entire movie around halfway through. He’s mostly an insufferable know-it-all, at least on paper.
And yet…. Dean Stockwell as Bob Jenkins is probably the best thing about this miniseries! You can’t help but like him, and you actually *want* to listen to him to talk and explain things. He doesn’t come off as the least bit insufferable, instead I find myself loving every second he’s onscreen. He elevates the entire production. And I can’t stress enough how crazy and illogical all of that is - by all rights his character should drive us all crazy.

Worst thing about this movie is it wasn't long enough. They could remake this in a way that is almost in real time. Make it one season long or something. It has so much potential to explore the characters and, perhaps, the environments/world. The characters have quite a bit of depth.
