Another great lesson Rob. Think I can speak for all on here and say that we look forward to these lessons each weak. I'm learning a lot of techniq and enjoying the journey. Was going to give up guitar as I wasn't making progress and now I am. Also been giving Classical Gas a go and it ain't half bad so far, Thanks again Rob, keep em coming. 👍
Yes Rob, I would like to improve the left and right hand technique on classical guitar . So a group of nice exercises and pieces ( not necessarily scales ) arpeggios, single notes etc .In so doing not stressing when playing , so to be as comfortable as possible on both hands which I think is part of the skill. Also the relationship between your charts, tabs, and musical notation , so bringing out the rhythm and tune easier.
Yes, there’s already plenty of stuff on the site if you go back and have a look. Classical, country, Travis picking, Chet Atkins picking styles, Donovan etc etc. give me an idea of what you’d like to do and I’ll check it out. 👍🏻
Excellent lesson opened up another avenue of the guitar learnings journey and u hit the nail on the head it allways seems impossible then with practise becomes possible i allways think aaargh i Can never do that then in half hour or so i get it and a wonderful sense of achievement thanks
Thank you man,i really appreciate your time and instructions on how to become creative,my goal is to play so i can get my wife to dance to my music.groovy man, really groovy!!!
Hi Rob, I am 70 and finally brought myself a decent guitar a Yamaha. FG-TA ( no amp required) Trying to play cheap guitars is pointless. (too hard) Thanks to you, I do not feel embarrassed playing in front of my friends, in fact I love the look of astonishment in their faces when I play a song . I still find the Yamaha a bit bulky, could you recommend a reasonably priced guitar ? Top man, cheers. Bill
Hi Bill, try looking for a second hand Takamine, Martin or Taylor. I never buy new guitars as, like a pair of shoes, they need to be worn in. It may have a few scratches etc, but it’s the quality of the guitar and how easy it is to play that’s important. 👍🏻
Does being able to “see the shapes of scales/notes on the fingerboard and simply practicing them (slowly at first) to get finger memorisation then speeding up using a metronome, ensure finger dexterity and speed increase?
@@fennahrob6934Ok but when trying to increase finger dexterity and speed for soloing etc (flying through arpeggios for just one example), what’s the best/most effective and efficient way of increasing speed? I know this is nothing to do with this particular lesson but I can do what you have shown here (while it’s still valuable to revisit and experiment with).
Just play over and over again. You have to treat playing guitar as you would a physical sport. It’s all about repetition and muscle memory. Only practice and time will suffice.
Thanks, another great lesson Rob, it’s the first time I felt like I was getting somewhere
Love your easy, casual, down-to-earth style of teaching. Worth well more than 30k subs. Thanks, as always.
Thanks

Hi where can I find the 12 Bar Blues video please?
Chucked my guitar in the corner, can't get my pinky to move while holding down the D chord shape.

Think shapes not notes. Think of it this way, we don’t think of each letter when we speak; music is the same.
