Great pedal by itself, good marshall tone.boosted with a tubescreamer it turns into a beast!!sounds great through my fender champ 40watt solid state on clean channel....played everything from sabbath,ZEP,GNR,Pantera and lamb of god.defintly worth the the $49...great vid and great playing!!
Great demo, thanks. Just bought this pedal and it sounds great, for those who may have read a comment regarding the graphics pealing off, it's a clear protective film, same as you get on a Strat pick guard, it peals off. It's not plastic, great pedal for the money, sounds a lot better than some much more expensive alternatives. Definitely keeping this one on my board.
I'm embarrassed to admit this; but I think I like this pedal more than the JHS Angry Charlie. I like the ability to control the mids and presence on the Plexi Crunch. The Charlie has a 3 band EQ but doesn't have the treble frequencies that I enjoy whereas the Plexi Crunch does.
I have the evh overdrive pedal and I just watched your video and loved the sound of the pedal. Went and bought one and it blows that evh away. Just wish it had a noise gate lol
Hi Rich. Taylor again. Just wanted to tell ya that is the heaviester{yup} tele anyone ever rocked in this time and space. I got this pedal after watching this demo and realizing i'd be fifty bucks poorer but oh so much richer{Rich!} if i bought this. And your settings saved a lot of time and muttering{that sounds like crap} to myself. My grasp of the obvious is awe inspiring. The sweet spot is the sweet spot. But there's lots of great sounds in there. If you don't have room for or can't be as loud as a marshall this is great. Rock on!
I just got this delivered today, found it used online and got it at a good price. I decided to try it out with my Epi LP and my Fender Champion 100. Sound was muddy and lacked, didn't feel like it was kicking me as hard as my Marshall AVT amp and thought I was probably scammed and sent a defective pedal... And then I realized I had my volume knobs rolled back to about 60%. 🤦♂ Then it hit me, and made my amp roar for sure. Great pedal, I love the dirty clean sound you can get with it.
I just got one of these pedals yesterday and it’s a keeper! It’s Chinese made but it kicks a lot of those pricey boutique style crunch effects in the balls because you definitely get a lot of Marshall sounding bang for your buck with this one. Highly recommended!’ 👍👍🙂
Thanks for the review and demo. Based on that I ordered one and just got it today. EXCELLENT! I also have the NUX Horseman impressed with both. Probably going to get the Steel Singer.
Nice playing on the opening track , great feeling. As for the pedal I love mine and yours sounds even better with your gear and the tele. such a versatile pedal and a great range of sounds , that crunch really shines through. Thanks again for the great review ....... as always no fluff just the meat and potatoes with your great playing being the gravy on top. Thanks Rich we appreciate all your efforts to bring us these great reviews .

Sounds good man. Convincing Marshallesque sound! I’m in the Process of building a 1957 Fender 5F1 (5 watt class A tube amp) with a 12” eminence the Wizard speaker.)I can’t wait to put this in front of it.
I've been looking forward to this review. My next big guitar purchase is going to be a tube amp head and cabinet, and I'm going back and forth between Marshall and Blackstar. I know it's not the same as a Marshall amp, but the pedal delivers a respectable representation of the Marshall tone. Maybe the Nux pedal and a Blackstar?
@@RichBischoff What draws me is their ISF feature, which purports to give Fender-ish to British-ish(?) voicing. They definitely have that British kind of clipping when driven in most reviews, but I want to have a nice clean pedal platform for when I just want pedal tone. The local GCs don't have any Blackstars (or any heads) available for demo, so it will be a blind purchase unless I travel to a bigger metro area.
For what its worth , i had a blackstar 20watt combo , did sound good . Died 2weeks after warranty . 2 techs said to me it would cost way past market value to fix it . Blackstar could not hav cared less . I Hav a dsl40 its great in every way . Thot ud like to kno . Good luck .

hi, great content ! would you consider using this pedal with a valv amp set to clean to modify its sound? I've a bugera v5 infinium and i'm wondering if this could bring something different to the tones. Thanks
Funny thing is.. companies could put any name on a pedal and people's minds would be tricked to believe that's the sound. So if they kept this pedal circuitry but put a silver panel on and named it fender crunch, people would believe it's a great sounding replicating fender tone. I have this today bought. Plugged in my orange Amp and seems kinda thin and buzzy
This is a good option but if your looking for something a little more high quality, maybe go with a Friedman BE OD pedal. Also maybe look at a Rat Pedal.
Use a compressor pedal. Also a tube screamer would be a good idea. That will give you what you want. This pedal would probably also, but I recommend a compressor pedal for sure. I use one with my marshall and it really brings it to life.
