This looks a really really good car. Ive had a Yaris, the ordinary dull 1.33 version although nice ride and well made, but I do like fast hatchbacks, I like things that are a bit different, had a couple of Abarths, im not into large cars, never have been, dont need a big car I have no kids just a nice lady, small cars are easier to wash :D This car would be a good all rounder for people like me with no kids that want something a bit different to the usual suspects of Golf GTI, 208 GTI, Polo GTI, Fiesta ST, Renault shite etc. The supercharger does it for me, and shame that they got rid of it from the Mini a few years ago.
You should really buy a Miata (if you haven't already), its a legendary car, tiny, lightweight, the only drawbacks are its a 2 seater and it doesnt have much storage space, besides that, its the best cheap driving fun, as they say, a miata driver always has a smile on his face.
They should take this same light weight body and put a motor with no less than 275 HP and 325 lbs of torque with all wheel drive or rear wheel drive system similar to the Focus RS. Then we would have something extremely special that would be hard to catch.
Come on..Toyota is not in the high segment. Nothing wrong with that, but compared to all other premium brands they are reviewing it is a good development.
Tommy b Nothing wrong with the interior. Its tough and functional. Does it not have enough toys or soft bits for you ? Too many people are obsessed by interiors and the materials etc. I have a Suzuki, it a cheap interior but it serves the purpose and it will not date because its not over styled. Fashions and silly trends soon fade Sir.
