  • We all know about what happened the other day with the attempt on Trump, and I've seen a lot of things from a lot of people that are all over the place on it. Sadly, I've seen many Christians responding in a very unchristlike, ungodly manner. So what is the proper response? This is just some of my thoughts with a little bit of rambling in there

Just read Galatians 5 in my devotions today. The fruit of one’s life certainly shows what fills their hearts!

I am dealing with this in my life. I am naturally a fighter and protector. I want to fight for my country, my church and my family. But God is teaching me that the fight is spiritual and not worldly. The fight is a spiritual fight for the heart of people, that they may repent and turn to God.
And that repentance starts with me. I am a believer sealed in the Lamb's Book of Life, but as believers, we are still called to repentance. This is shown over and over, paraphrased: If you have a problem with your brother, go right now and ask for forgiveness. We see it in David's life, we see it in the OT in the NT, we se this through out the Bible.
On a tangent, but still related, I am learning, (at the risk of being cliché) we are not perfect...we'll yeah, DUH. But instead of trying to make our actions holy doing the right thing; we should be focusing on making our hearts holy and "right thing" will happen naturally.
So to bring it back around, I am learning to focus on changing the hears not the actions of the country.
