I walked the Pennine Journey in 2021 and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend anyone to do the Pennine Way first (I've done that twice), and if you enjoy that then do the Pennine Journey - you won't be disappointed. The first half of the route has some quite remote and challenging sections, but also took me through areas I'd never visited before, including Weardale, Rookhope and Blanchland. The second half uses quite a bit of the Pennine Way on the way to Dufton, but in a north to south direction, which I enjoyed. The last 2 days over Whernside and Ingleborough are wonderful in good weather, so think you made a good call. I look forward to watching the final video some time in the future.

Thanks for watching the Pennine Journey video and commenting. Alan and I have done both the Way and the Bridleway and enjoyed both enormously. We feel vindicated that we made the right decision to end at Kirkby Stephen and are looking forward to returning.

Amazing how poor the weather conditions were forecast to be. Best to end it early rather than endure it. The hills will still be there when you have another chance.

Absolutely. Our proposed wild camp that next night was going to be in a very remote and wet valley. With such heavy rain forecast it could have been an 'interesting' wild camp. Glad you enjoyed the two videos!

The second half of your journey certainly didn't disappoint.
Again I've walked most of the route over the years but never as a continuous trip. Such a shame you couldn't do the last bit.
I can only agree it's wonderful countryside, thanks for taking the time to film, edit and sharing...ATB Alistair 👍

Thank you so much Alistair. Really appreciate the fact that you not just watched what I put together but took the time to comment too.
It's a truly scenic area and I keep getting drawn back to Walk these remote feeling places. We will definitely return next year and finish off the trail as we think the last 4 days are likely to be the best of the route.

Hi John. Very kind of you to comment positively. We will definitely return next year as the 4 days we missed are what we consider to be the best!

You do walks in places that I am unfamiliar with so enjoy the variety & info you always offer with your videos Dave. I am sure the Pennines are very popular with walkers but I don't often (if ever) come across people sgaring their journeys on you tube - so thank you. The landscape looks wonderful and am often surprised that some walkers/togs I do watch on the tube head straight to the lakes ( a few I know are Yorkshire bods) & it looks like they miss some glorious places that look equally great for walking/photography than the more crowded lakes. For you to cut short a walk I would say that it was a necccessary decision and have no doubt you will be back tere to finish it at some point . An enjoyable watch. Btw, re recent comment of the outflow of the usk... I was well aware but couldn't borrow to make it known as 99.9% of my viewers would be blissfully unaware - you blinking .1 per centers 😂

Thanks Al. Sorry about the Usk comment 😂. Just proves I do watch your videos right through!!
The Northern Pennines and Yorkshire Dales are very popular walking areas although definitely not as busy as the Lakes. It's a wonderfully wild feeling area and it's such a shame that I couldn't capture all of the amazing bird life with my phone. The wind was just too strong. I've never seen so many curlew as on this trip plus others including snipe.
As ever, thank you for the support.
