another tip: if you don't want to open the creative inventory to get blocks, you can middle click on the block you need, you'll have it in your hands

A way to get the rail you want where it's just on the edge is to use trapdoors and set them to the open position, they look nice and are a lot smaller than fences and walls. I especially like spruce one for that sort of thing. Anyway thanks for the video and I hope this can help in a future build :)

Tip: if you want a taller tree you can build your own trunk like you did but put a block of dirt flush with the floor then plant a tree and bone meal it. And you can keep putting dirt on top of each tree to grow a super tall tree.
