I have really enjoyed this video...thank you! You've shot so many buildings to wet my appetite with- I've had to stop and start the video to look up each and every building in greater detail. You've inspired me to include a stay in the south next year- which will include a visit to the Solaris cafe. Just Roomz are an ideal place to stay, as we are never anchored down in Blackpool- we're always moving about on the tram and by taxi from place to place- always including: Fleetwood, Cleveleys, Bispham, Blackpool Zoo, Stanley park -as my parents and grandparents had done. Anchorshome was a new addition, which we visited- thanks to your video. Our grandson loved Anchorshome. Blackpool south will be handy for visiting St Anne's. Just Roomz will also be so much cheaper than an appartment. I can plan for two holidays in Blackpool- one with Just Roomz and another with the new Premier Inn ( Talbot square ) ...value for money!

Nice one again, great content & very informative Jane - I'm watching this on catch-up - I have an old picture of my mum, dad & myself as a very young boy having a game of putting in the gardens at the back of the Solaris Centre - it probably isn't there now but very happy memories of a happy childhood on our " jollies" in Blackpool - Take care, keep smiling & keep up the good work - Dave.

Wonderful! I'm not sure the pitch and putt is but the gardens are, and open for you to enjoy too.

As always an interesting and enjoyable video Jane, but including some degree of sadness for myself. As you spoke of the Solaris centre I had a sinking feeling and as a result of a brief 'google' my apprehension was not unfounded. I enjoyed a visit to the Solaris some time ago and was so pleased to see the electricity generated by the windmills used in so many ways to drive many exhibits, including the machine to display the oldest motion picture taken from a moving vehicle. It was shot from the top of a tram as it progressed along the seafront with people dressed as they would have been in circa 1905. Many other exhibits were fascinating and it was promoted as an "Eco Centre" and an educational resource. I have told people about it for years and hoped to visit it again one day. Alas the educational intent seems to have waned. I wonder where all the indoor and outdoor exhibits went?
I shall cheer myself up with my weekly E-news and the warm glow of Chrissie's Blog.

And I fondly remember the leaky greenhouse with the grape vine!

Like your videos with the talking about whatever you showing, never been to Blackpool so good way of seeing local area, and you did get the plane in shot even though you did not know at the time.

Just in the process of buying one of the flats facing the sea on Crescent Court, can't wait to complete the purchase and spend some time there.

My wedding cake, in 1983, was made by Dorothy Relton.
She, and her husband Joe, had the New Kingsbury Hotel.
They were good family friends, and we had many a good meal there.

As much as the Hilton is an upgrade in hotel facilities in Blackpool I Ithought it was a shame to lose the crescent of hotels. The Headlands Hotel looks odd now as a remaining rump at the end.

No, it's going for a refurb. Going to take 6 months I believe.
