Two videos in two days? We're being spoilt!
this server is easily the most impressive large scale project i've ever seen in minecraft. keep up the fantastic work!
YEAH it is impressive but what about bte?
What about it?
@@WBCBuildsi mean that it also deserve credit as another impressive large project
Does it? Its relevance here is questionable… I’m just one guy planning out a large city on a server of about 20 other builders. BTE is a global community with 1000’s of builders who all build what is already “there”. We are not the same
I agree. Bte really doesn’t interest me because I enjoy the details of the individual buildings.
The city, the nostalgia, the aura… This project can be described with one one word… Perfection
Whiteburg looks beautiful and is really beginning to take shape. I'm excited to watch the city grow!
I love the plans and city design and I would definitely watch if you made a video explaining your thought process with designing a city.
I enjoyed seeing all your plans. It’ll be great to see them all come together Over time 👍🏻
Absolutely in love with this! Cant wait to see it come alive over the next year or so
So impressive. Once I make the switch to MC on pc and have access to world edit I'll be grateful to even make something with 5% of the detail here with a similar feel. I'll probably go for a late 1800s gilded age vibe, with a city based on New Orleans. I've taken a few of your builds as inspiration for past stuff already, from here and your reddit.
And I must say, the trees and fall colored grass really give an atmosphere here that I think would be severely lacking without them. It meshes well with the earthy tones of everything.
you just made my day by posting this video, so relaxing
I foresee the terminus is going to be very cool
Quite some ambitious plans. I look forward to seeing them take shape.
If I may offer a little suggestion regarding the layout of Burr Street Station, it may be beneficial to have a small spur line connecting the Blue and Green lines just past the river, just before they enter the Green platforms, in order to allow trains from the Blue line to access the yards and engine facilities on the north side of the station complex, since at the moment (unless there's plans to add facilities in Linford), the Southeastern Railway has nowhere to service and turn their locomotives nor store their carriages. It may be a bit awkward having to shunt trains through active platforms, but such operations are not unheard of.
Another idea was perhaps to arrange the far eastern station, the one just outside Old Whiteburg, such that some of its platforms run through to connect to the docks, very much akin to Southampton Central. This could even serve as a means of mainline trains being able to get onto the Metro system similar to the City Widened Lines of London, which once let mainline passenger and goods trains use parts of the subsurface Underground lines in order to bypass the worst congestion when crossing from one side of London to the other.
You happen to have hit a particular sweet spot with me here; railways and their logistical operations and engineering are a particular vice of mine. I morbidly delight in the absolute nightmare that would be the Burr Street Signalboxes, somehow having to control frequent movements through such a tight and tangled mass of track and points. It puts many of my absurd Transport Fever 2 layouts to shame.
BEAUTIFUL WORLD
can you make a tutorial video about how to use levers for details on buildings ?
You can check out his video on the Debug Stick, it covers the basics
I'm not sure how things actually work on the server, but It would be so cool if there were some kind of teleporting commands in the train stations, so the stations would be functional in some capacity. Like a sign that when you right click teleports you to the next station. It's probably a little overkill if everyone's in creative anyway :p
I would love if you built the pumping station in Brentford, it has a lovely tower and i think it would fit the overall style of the city.
Honestly love these kinds of planning based videos. The server tours are all well and good, but seeing the behind the scenes are what really inspires me, the process behind the making of the cities is great. I think it's because what really makes a minecraft city/town come to life isn't just about being full of detailed and realistic buildings, but the way the buildings interact with one another, and the lore behind why they are built where they are, and what functions they serve the city/town. Thanks for showing us this process, I absolutely love it!
13:01 oh wow. The national momentum looks beautiful in the background there
Good to see it back
Brompton Square-Knightsbridge London, would be interesting to see in game. Maybe if you make an upperclass area
I haven’t seen so much content in such good amounts from any other channel.
How did you know that map planning is my favorite thing in this game?
Plans look absolutely incredible, can't wait to see more!
18:15 The pure white of these buildings looks quite nice, especially mixed with the bright colours of the park next door
As explained in the video… these are just placeholders
@WBCBuilds the placeholders look nice by themselves, obviously with some detail, and it could look pretty nice.
The comment above says that you don’t think the pure whiteness of these buildings looks good
@@WBCBuilds ahhh didn't realise. My mistake
I really love plans and this stuff too. So this video was amazing for a person like me! Last year, i created a fictional world where i set my novels in and in this world is also Whiteburg! There is Whiteburg City and other towns. If you're creating lore, you create lore also for my world. And it's exciting. I thnik that the next short story is going to be set in Whiteburg.👍
Impressive project! 🤯👍
Thank you! Cheers!
yes you were correct the church is called St clement Danes, Fun fact was original site to a Danish Christian Church, before being rebuilt by Wren. Along with st marys it is know as 'island churches'. Also another church i recommend is St Bride's, located on fleet street. Recognised for the tier cake steeple.
Would be nice if the eventual neighborhood was called Daneston, as a historic ode.
I am begging you to make a tutorial of terraforming. The one about building roads was very usefull but as a starting builder I am struggling with terraforming as I mostly do it manually and it takes a lot of time
Will Whiteburg City have any references to the Churchills? Winston, John or Randolph Churchill?
No, that’s outside the time period really
Thanks for the great videos! 😁
Glad you like them!
@WBCBuilds I'm also a fan of thorough city planning so I like seeing these plan layouts too
Very cool!
Just a question: What did you use to map and plan it out at 13:44 ? I know I’m a bit late
I missed these videos
Envision: imagine as a future possibility; visualize.
goods
cool
Nice
Very nice
I know you have many plans so you probably won’t be interested but have you ever considered building Norris castle? It is a very big country house next to Osborne house on the Isle of Wight.
Unfortunately a developer has hold of it now so it is falling into a state of disrepair. Just thought it might be something your interested in 🙂
what's your opinion of the tuff and copper blocks in the snapshots? Will you continue to have a reskinned warped trapdoor, now that real copper trapdoors exist?
ever thought of playing anno 1800 for inspiration?
Could you build a Turkish inspired city or maybe a mosque in the near future
Not my area of interest, sorry
Is linford going to be joined on to whiteburg like how Wolverhampton is to Birmingham or slough is to London
Linford is a borough of Whiteburg city, ergo a part of it but a city in its own right as well
@@WBCBuilds ah right
Yo dude could u help me? I’m on bedrock and I want to use your texture pack but idk how to download it or get it to work
If you are on the pc version of bedrock edition, that is the only version of bedrock that you can download texture packs that aren’t on the marketplace: I would recommend you to simply switch to java since you automatically have both editions. If you are on phone/console version of bedrock I suppose you somehow have to get the texture pack on the marketplace which I don’t even know how to begin with
are you going to keep it all white? the townhomes don't have a good look that way
No? I explained that this is just a massing exercise and these are all placeholders
can we also get a link for the shader pack?
It’s in the description
Here’s a tip. Actually watch the video before criticising his builds
it's a great build and all. but I don't get making modern cities in a game with no cars, guns, planes, I just build medieval or tudor
Because it’s a sandbox game you can play however you like…
I just don’t get building medieval in a game with no siege engines, wagons, or bubonic plague 🙄
I just don't get building cargo boats with no engines, or motors and no titanic@@solarbuilds
Are you saying you just can’t build those things? Or that you can’t imagine building them?
Spiffing
WBC you live for this??!?!! I live for this!!!! Ms paint-esque squiggly map lines are the true patrician choice of city planning
