TechCamp Morocco: Preserving Cultural Heritage

On July 2-7, 2022, the U.S. Embassy in Morocco and the High Atlas Foundation organized TechCamp Morocco, bringing together and empowering eight teams of 60 youth and civil society leaders from around Morocco to engage meaningfully in the #preservation of cultural heritage.
Over the course of the interactive five-day workshop, held at Al Akhawayn University of Ifrane, participants engaged with leading experts in the field, built connections with other young heritage preservationists, and learned and honed skills in human-centered design for cultural heritage preservation, digitization and data protection, digital storytelling, project management, and idea pitching.
Beyond the workshop, the teams will continue to work together, with expert mentorship, to address cultural heritage challenges in their own communities.
