Being from the Harrisburg area and a native when it comes to fishing the Susquehanna River, you literally never know what you’re going to catch! Personally, I believe its by far the best fishery on the entire east coast!
Ive watched this video a hundred times. Ive been obsessively waiting for october to try and find a bite like this. 2 nights ago, it all came together for me. I literally met Joe as I was launching my boat (he just happened to be at the launch I was at) and I immediately thought..wow, I'm at the right spot. I launched and proceeded to have the craziest night of flathead fishing I've ever experienced. Ended the night with 9 flatheads between 8 pounds and 38 pounds one ounce. By myself...pack of wolves is an understatement. The slobtober bite is real and thanks to you guys for making this video I got to experience it. This video is what kept me coming back after a lot of fishless nights. But Friday night was the stuff dreams are made of. I'm already looking forward to next year lol. Thanks again to hookshots for making this video and thanks to Joe for putting them on the fish so guys like me can know what is possible.
I've been fishing around Falmouth/York Haven and have had terrible luck. I am limited to the shore though so that might be an issue.. Good to hear some people are doing well haha
@@intothevoid9500 there's several of them honestly. Pretty small window where it can all come together. Little period from between when the water dips down to 60 or so until it gets down to the lower 50's. The bite has been on fire lately , I got a 47.5# 2 Saturdays ago. Check put the most recent video on the "flatty daddys" channel....he got some video of the fish right after I boated her.
Ive had some good nights on the Allegheny...but we always called a 3 or 4 flatty night a "good night"...this video is just bonkers. You guys got way spoiled. I'm gonna have to trailer the boat out there this fall. Man that river is scary though.
I've got the flathead sickness too....and the bite is on right now B) and they definitely group and even hunt together! Coming from experience on the Arkansas river, Wichita KS.
Looked like a lot of fun on that trip. But if that is how that guide acts with clients he takes out, I'll have to pass. Been looking to get my 2 grandsons out on a trip on the Susky with a guide, But after seeing how he acted in the one section of the video, not sure I'd feel comfortable with him yelling at my grand kids like that.
Here in kansas, this is all way do between rods and bank lines. LIve 6 miles up stream from the arkansas river. Gotta get those rod tips bending. GROUSE CREEK RIVER RATS for Life.

Fished with Joe last November and landed 8 flatheads within 4 hours, totalling 173 pounds with the biggest (and last fish) at 36 pounds!
