@@lost_legion_army9002 observation is probably the best track in the game. Makes a game of kaleidoscope so much more intense and atmospheric. Wet bulb, when does a country stop being a country and shipping forecast are amazing too

My favourites are Observation of Beautiful Forms, Wet Bulb, When does a Country stop being a country, Main Theme and Kaleidoscope, but Orbital and Kicking the Bucket are part of the greatest Soundtracks of the Franchise imo overall great soundtracks while I have to admit that nothing comes near to BF1 and BFV for me
I've found most of BF2042's soundtrack rather 'meh'. BF4 was the last series that had banger tracks. BF1's soundtrack was really good and it was more 'period accurate' but not really my thing. But when this played during Season 4, i was HOOKED. the right combination of upcoming dread over an uncertain dystopian future, but then progressing to a series of drops that just sounded so kickass, pumping you up so hard that the dystopian vibe melts away as you start kicking ass yourself in the game. I love it.
this type of music is generally considered industrial, though it has elements of musique concrete which is a form of music made with real world sounds. while some hate it, the concrete elements they use is how each maps theme fits so uniquely well with its environment moreso than really most other music out there. i would consider this kind of music “concrete lite” while i like pretty much all of the other music, for me personally this map has by far the weakest end of round theme, though as a piece of music in and of itself its still really good. the other map end of round themes have just set such a high bar in the themes they portray, like pollution for manifest and a high stakes conflict for spearhead. though me and my friend are pretty sure its because season 4s music had to be rushed, hence why it also sounds like a remix of season 3 at times
Battlefield 3 had some amazing sound tracks. Battlefield 4 some of the best I've heard in any game. This one took me straight back to Battlefield 4. Damn It kills me we never got a campaign with this game it would of been incredible 🔥
unfortunately this ones quite a step down in a lot of ways and i assume its due to all the backlash 2042s music has got since release. its still quite good, but it has a noticeable emphasis on sounding like cool music reminiscent of bf3/4 and not having underlying themes which is where 2042s music, and hildur as an artist, is strongest its a shame but at least its decent!

@@byte1ife I disliked BF3 and 4, was to much Call of Duty for me. But 2048 gets back a lot to the old "classic" Battlefield style. Still not a big fan of the HP Regeneration, but the rest feels really good and awakened a lot of fond memories of 2142.
Coming back here once again as sort-of a follow up to my previous comment in the Season 3 theme video. Season 4’s theme is sort of a 50/50 for me. I appreciate the more ambient-rich direction that was taken for this track but it feels a bit underwhelming after listening to Season 3’s theme for well over a few months (and as many said I also hope a menu theme selection feature is added in a future update). The reoccurring choirs in S4’s theme sort of give off a calm, mellow-ish vibe whilst the drums in the background add a bit of tension as you prepare for your next deployment in the Battlefield… As for the deployment and end-of-round tracks though, unfortunately they’re my least favorite. Not much hype-fuel or grittiness like previous season themes. (Also, today I had just discovered specialist bios and I don’t know how long they’ve been out for. I spent abt 20 minutes reading all of them while the menu theme played in the background and it really set the mood for how some of the specialist’s backstories are a bit gruesome and/or tragic. I get that most people are fed up with personality rich hero-shooter characters but these specialist bios show how much potential 2042’s lore had if there were a campaign.)
Yeah, put specialists either in a single-player campaign or PVE setting, for the next game if you really want them to be in battlefield just leave pvp alone
Did you know the soundtracks for both were made by the same people? Hildur Guðnadóttir and Sam Slater, who are known for their work on Chernobyl and Joker.
I love this seasons soundtrack, really fits the mood of the game which is set in the near future where the world is so torn up by disaster and famine that war has become inevitable. Kinda like the 4 horseman of the apocalypse.
I’m noticing more and more intense feeling seasons, especially with season 1 being Zero Hour, season three being Escalation, this newest one being Eleventh Hour. The last two Superpowers are locked in a world war and these season names are feeling less and less coincidental. I wonder if DICE are considering future nuclear themes for Battlefield 2042. Imagine
2042 is in the same continuity as 3, 4 and supposedly 2142. Doubt there will be any nuclear themed seasons unless DICE narrative design throws continuity out of the window and goes another path.
It would work, but it also does a good job adding some intensity at the end of the match. Reminds me of the drums from Season 2 at the end of a round on Stranded. :D
The world of 2042 is actually chillingly accurate prediction of the future. Sure it may not be 2042 where this shit happens but if we continue to do nothing about climate change and current problems, i predict that the world of 2042 could become a reality in our lifetime.
