People criticised the soundtrack at release, saying it didn't sound good or it didn't sound like Battlefield. I believe that 2042's OST carries out the intention to demonstrate the state that the world is going through in this scenario where the nations of the world neglected our planet, stripping it clean of its resources, and now that mother nature is fighting back, the same nations that took us here are, again, fighting for the scraps. It's a beautiful and well-intentioned soundtrack.
But the game doesn't represent this world at all the game might as well be called standard basic modern fps No. 366227. It would be nice to see storms be more prominent and actually have natural disasters and more weather events be in the game.. and more maps with apocalyptic scenarios. Like hourglass where the city is overtaken by sand. I would agree that the ost is great if the game devs actually tried to make a game that fits with it.
@@GazDaLad That's a fair point, especially with the lack of a much needed campaign. I hope that the now confirmed single player Battlefield "experience" that DICE is making is based on 2042's lore.
