You guys missing Biggest part, The Mahabharata. The Anchor point of whole movie.
Actually they did that right coz the movie shows distorted Mahabharat and not actual Mahabharat.
I suggest you read the actual epic rather than believe what movie industry feeds you.
@@ajking3184well, you are mistaken. Director nag Aswin clearly mentioned, this is a fiction being created post events of Mahabharata and is set 6000 years after the events of Mahabharata. He took creative advantage. If I could suggest, watch Mahabharata from old telugu movies there at least 20-4 of them, probably the only industry which produced the most number of puranas in India.
the anime flare your talking about isnt something of a stylistic choice ,the scenes from the intro ( Mahabaratham) are meant to be epic, because according to scriptures all the characters you saw are literally gods and the fights were described to be epic , and the yuga itself has a different set of rules to how things ran back in that yuga, now we are in kali yuga completely detached from god and all the a declining society , But dwapara yuga characters were describing to be at least 10 feet tall and have the unbelievably strong and physics defying powers( astras) . IT would've been a disservice if they didn't show the epicness of the characters, it feels strange as Anime made its mark ( a lasting impression) for along time, so we automatically relate to that . But the epics and scriptures and stories were thousands of years old.
In fact a whole plotline for Avatar Last Airbender is a copy from Hindhu Scriptures.

Prabhas is a treat to watch and the relentless trial to reach his goal !!
He's the worst part of the movie, if his unnecessary cringe scenes were removed it still won't bring any change to the story, the movie so much lagged bcuz of him.

@@UjwalRam Why would I hate prabhas? I hated his character in the movie. Except few blind fans of prabhas everyone felt he was cringe. Nag doesn't know how to utilize Prabhas. Rajamouli knows how to bring out the best in any actor.

Thanks for supporting this movie, it's definitely a first of its kind to imagine Kalki Avatar story which is yet to happen in Kaliyug (current dark age), and marry it with Sci-Fi.
In first half the fight sequence was clumsy bcoz it was done on purpose for prabhas fans it has to been done in india people like to see prabhas in that kind of fight

Prabhas screen time can be cut by 30 minutes

Those Prabhas scenes in the beginning were cringe A.F.
The interval is a huge part of the story telling and the screenplay. So there will always be a lull in the movie. Interval block is a common term used for indian movies.
Also prabhas’s earlier filmography(before bahubaali) is very close to the characterization in kalki. Affable, lovable guy who has a good heart(han soloesque). That was a huge part of the fan service being done in the first half.
U guys are spot on for both Kalki and Manjummal boys. Both did take long time to get going in the name of world building. I thought they could have trimmed 20 mins easily. But 2nd half was a banger
he said sumati correct while speaking Sum-80 and butchered actual pronunciation for sumati. idk why it is hard for anyone to learn vowels of any differing languages, they are 90% always same.

Bad things in this movie it is written 6000years ago may be more then that in bhavshya vani means prophecy that is going to happen . And Kalki is avatar of lord vishnu and how is he going to come and worriers who are ment to help him in war are chosen few immortals on earth.

Let me try to explain basics
So in Mahabharata a war was fought between two groups Pandavas (protagonists) and Kauravas ( antagonists) they were cousins , Pandavas were 5 brothers and Kauravas were 100 and the eldest one was duryodhana ( has not appeared in this movie) and the character of both prabhas and ashwatthama were on the side of antagonists.
Karna is one of the most interesting and tragic characters in the Mahabharata. He is actually the eldest brother of the Pandavas but is raised by a charioteer after being abandoned by his mother, Kunti, at birth. Unaware of his true heritage, Karna grows up facing a lot of social discrimination but becomes an incredibly skilled warrior.He is known for his loyalty to Duryodhana, who befriends and supports him when no one else would. This loyalty puts Karna in direct conflict with his own brothers, although he doesn't know about his true parentage until later in the story.
So in the movie there were various hints given about him that you cannot catch you've not read Mahabharata,
Like he says he never lost a battle was true as he was so skilled Archer that the protagonists were not able to kill him so Krishna (the literal God) has to cheat to kill him, and other hints like he was adopted and raised by a driver (charioteer)
I was also intrigued by Karna and did read Mahabharatham
Like the actual books and heard pravachanam of Vaddi Parthi garu
Karna isn’t socially discriminated sir. Actually the first scene which our people depict where Dhuryodhana gives Karna ardharajyam has lot of layers. Which are missed when painted with broader brush
Karna’s dad Athiratha is the master of charioteers and a scholar. He is not like our regular Drivers kid kind of depiction given to us in our movies.
Main problem is - Karna isn’t proud about his lineage , he himself thought low that his dad is charioteer, so lies about it .
This is where it all starts .
Karna is skilled, very intelligent, strong but he has social climbing ambition.
And in most difficult times Karna runs away from war .
He doesn’t believe in his own sakthi.
Following is the list of incidences of karna running off the battlefield against arjuna,bhimsena,abhimanyu,satyiki:
Arjuna: 4 times
Bhimsena: 2 times
Abhimanyu: once
Satyiki: once
and also against gandharv sena.
There are many other incidences when karna ran off battlefield.
Even kripacharya and ashwadhama rebuked karna for regularly fleeing battlefield.
There was confusion about this too, so I read these .
Cause in my childhood I also thought - paapam karna- which is true cause of his birth
But Karna is kaaranajanmudu for other reasons
We need to praise these characters and find faults in correct ways, just going by today’s standards and twisting things won’t help us

And all curses creating by Indr dev made him weak physically also His mother kunti and lord krishna made him weak mentally by revealing his birth secret.
His teacher Parshuram learnt Dhanurvidya from Lord Shiva and taught everything to karn.
And by chance if u have read that he ran from Abhimanyu 😂 then don't believe that book 😂

Yes Krishna revealing part is true - that’s a psychological game and it made Karna very angry and also sad .
Indra also gave a boon in return for the kavacha kundalaalu
Kunthi devi didn’t go to karna just to make him weak, she wanted him to stay safe - but justifiably he refused any kind of affection .
Have you also read what all happened during Karna’s death - not just death what happened later ?
If you don’t believe in Krishna there is no point in reading any of these , and if you believe you should also read what he taught us in each and every step of the various deaths and defeats .

hey guys you dont have to understand the first half loll, a lot of Indians don't, including indian movie reviewers, but the entire movie itself gold.
this movie is path breaking in telugu cinema (coming from two states in india who speak telugu language)
to put it simple this is star wars which came in 1977 for telugu cinema in 2024.
Exactly my thoughts .
All said and done
For us - just Kurukshetram and vishwaroopam is more than enough to watch again and again
Rest of the things are added bonus

In Shaiva tradition, the bow Vijaya was wielded by Shiva and later presented to his devotee Parashurama. It is said that the string of this bow cannot be broken by any weapon, and when drawn, it creates a blinding flash of light capable of incapacitating one's enemy.
According to the Mahabharata, Parashurama took Karna as his student. As Karna was not only talented but also Parashurama's favorite disciple, he blessed him with the Vijaya bow along with other celestial weapons. However, Karna never used this bow because he believed in his own skills and valor rather than relying on celestial weapons. Additionally, he felt guilty for accidentally killing a Brahmin's cow with this bow during a practice session. Karna finally used the Vijaya bow during the Kurukshetra war on the 17th day, in his life-and-death battle against Arjuna. Even Krishna advised Arjuna that Karna was undefeatable as long as he wielded the Vijaya bow. When Karna's chariot wheel got stuck in the mud, he left the bow to lift the wheel. Arjuna seized this opportunity and killed him, thus fulfilling Karna's destined end.
Karna has been portrayed by prabhas in the last minutes of the movie. He acts unconsciously when the Vijaya bow touches his hand.
Yaskin grabs Gandiva bow in the end of the movie, which is arjuns weapon given to him by Brahma(The creator).
The ending is perfect with so many questions and theories. Expected for the next installment.

The story is inspired by Kalki purana written many years ago.
Kalki is a visual treat but in my honest opinion the makers butchered the Indian history.
Not only did they mess around with the Mahabharat part but it looks like took inspiration from Kalki puran written by lefties.

Also that krishna vs aswathama is totally false krishna never attacked aswathama it aswathama that gave his madi(stone) to Pandavas to save his life
