- This is my full movie review, spoiler free, of Kalki 2898 AD. This brand new Telugu movie from India is in theaters, and this is my discussion of the film.
Bhairava, tired of the oppressive confines of his homeland and the perilous life of a bounty hunter, yearns for a more comfortable existence in the Complex. His quest for a new life inadvertently entangles him with a group of rebels dedicated to freeing humanity from the grip of malevolent forces.

The actor who is playing Ashwatthama is perhaps the greatest Indian actor of all time Sir Amitabh Bachchan is 81 years old and he did a masterful job in the movie

True Westerners will be blowed away and actually everyone would be. It's u guys who just don't propagate this stories like Muslims and Christians do.
I think before the intermission in the 1st half it was unnecessary & forceful to make a comedy scene & it didn't work for me. In the 2nd half it gets really interesting & the last 40 minutes was absolute stellar. & Those Mahabharat scenes was really great. Hats off to the director for his vision.

Kalki movie is based on Kalki Puran a holy scripture of Hindu religion and its added with VFX and few changes here and there in Kalki Puran.
This was another great Indian movie. Definitely going to see it again this weekend.

That ASTRA is VIJAYA BOW of karna given by his teacher LORD PARSHURAM and it's one of the strongest Bows according to Hindu history..

It has amazing story (as an Indian I am well versed with the mythology , it’s a good effort to combine a dystopian society with our mythology) , has good cgi (leaving aside some choppy cgi effects) , it’s a very good movie but the most negative thing about the movie was forced comedy in a movie like that ,, it reminded me of recent thor movie ,, why was there a need to put such comedy acts in the movie ,,
Ashwatthama, portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan in Kalki 2898 AD, was outstanding. While I am not a fan of his body of work, I was truly in awe of his performance. However, I believe the de-aged Ashwatthama could have been more effective with Abhishek Bachchan in the role instead of relying on subpar visual effects. Hopefully, this is addressed in future films.
This is based on kalki puran where an real avatar will vo me to save humans from kalli purush(he who is now in human consciousness) .

First half was frustrating. The film was trying too hard to be something it wasn't. Hope they improve that in the sequel.

It's a sequel to mahabharat hindu epic history that happened 6000 years ago you need to learn about mahabharat before watching the movie
It is the first part of a trilogy I believe, and I don't think any kind of knowledge would be required beforehand for the experience

i loved this movie; the first thing i wanted to do when it was over was see it again. so very glad that i saw it in imax
As a kid, I grew up in India watching Hollywood masterpieces like LOTR, Harry potter (1-3), but right now such movies are made in India. What a proud movement. Telugu film industry is taking risks meanwhile Bollywood is making stale old movies. They do make 1-2 gems, but right now amazing movies are made in south. Be it Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada or Tamil language movies.

I just got out of the theater and yes this movie is fucking Epic! It’s the first Bollywood/Tollywood that I was able to follow the story without getting myself confused which never stopped any others from being good and enjoyable. Only a couple of things brought me out of the movie was the CGI in the prelude which was just a little odd, but once it got to the present the green screen doesn’t bother me. And the other thing that is a really small thing is a couple of the dubstep mixed music didn’t match the rest of the movie that was just a bit odd. Really reminded me of a combo of Dune and Alita battle angel with their worlds. But can’t wait for the continuation of the universe!
Spoiler Alert : My 2 cents on why Prabhas's character (Karna) kind of forgets in the end is because of the shraap given by Parshurama of Amnesia in his last birth so it kinds of sticks on...!!!
Nah bro it's simple he is reincarnated so he lost his past lives memories but remembered it for a moment cause he caught his astra
He lost it pretty soon after he lost his staff. So, it makes sense.
Also, the stick that Ashwatthama carries is Vijaya dhanush. Whoever carries it never loses. You see that when ashwatthama had it in the movie, he won but as soon as he lost it and Bhairava got it, Bhairava won.
Just watched it in a Cinema. Epic stuff, on the same level as Dune.

Having seen the movie myself the only redeeming thing about this dogshit was the war scenes inspired from from our holy scriptures sprinkled throughtout. ❤ ❤ and you have started to do reaction videos on Indian films recently but there are many Americans who have been doing have made their whole careers in UA-cam out of watching Indian movies and reacting on it but when something like this comes out from India they are not going to support in in America they are saying that this is a copy of madmax is a copy of dune and extra all those things were written after Kalki this when it was written humans didn't even knew that the world was a circle they at that time still used to think that the world is Flat and if you see in any other Puranas it's written that Vishnu holds the world in his hand and how it holds the whole circle

This is based on Indian history and Novel Mahabharat... I guess u felt a bit difficult to co-relate the story, if u get a chance get some overview from other resources.. but thanks for the positive reviews... Plz promote good Indian movies. It's not religious it's Mahabharata the history in warrior fought for years before 6000AD it happened in dwaraka and scientific proof is also recently acquired
The Ashwathamma actor isn't a native Thélugu speaker so he actually did a wonderful job,but overall dialogue delivery was not great.
Also, 1 of the cameos ,the guy who Prabhas's character comes across in the desert,is the director for Baahubali & so the dialogue of him saying I'll keep you for 10 yrs this time is a reference to the fact that Baahubali took 5 yrs to film.

Kalki 2898 AD is the pride of Indian Cinema and Telugu Cinema. One word review: MINDBLOWING.

I hope Kalki surpasses every Indian movie produced so far including RRR and becomes the most successful Indian film. Absolutely mindblowing except some unnecessary cringe masala and cringe comedy with Bhairava in the first half. Kamal Haasan part is pure horror. The way they have imagined landscapes, environments, weapons, vehicles, powers, Mahabharata scenes is truly exceptional and spectacular. My one suggestion to Nag Ashwin is to explore the Complex society and the outside world more in depth because on the surface it looks like everyone is doing well enough even though they are starving for food, water, clean oxygen and they have just stuck some neon signs randomly on Indian alleyways and streets because that's how cyberpunk movies do it. Anyone who says it is merely a copy of Star Wars, Dune, Mad Max, MCU deserve to drink Kali's tears lol. Excited for Kalki 2 more than I ever was for Brahmastra 2. Prabhas and Deepika Padukone are good but Amitabh Bachchan is the MVP. Wow. Disha Patani's part is simply waste. Roxxie could have still been used to show Bhairava the luxuries and abundance of the Complex without that cringe song. Also, unnecessary writing mistakes like superhuman Ashwatthama suddenly not being able to lift Sumathi up should not happen. I wish they would give Shree Krishna better look. No yellow angavastram or armor or jewels or mukut. Just a white cloth and a head band makes him look like a Greek hero. Personally I would have loved to see Shree Krishna blue instead of fair-skinned or dark-skinned because that's how we all grew up watching him in all images. I wish they worked on young Ashwatthama's face better because it is honestly bad, looking like a video game character whenever he spoke with large Disney cartoon eyes. Red Chillies is right there!

PS. For non-Indians and Karna (son of Sun God Surya) fans watching this, Karna was not more powerful than Arjuna. Karna is an antagonist and an adharmi in the Mahabharata who was jealous of Arjuna and committed many evil deeds and suffered for his karma and choosing the wrong side against the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Shree Krishna. Period. But he is not a cheeranjeevi (immortal) like Ashwatthama. How has he reborn or reincarnated remains to be seen. Note that according to some, Karna pushing Arjuna's chariot back is a fake story and Ashwatthama surrendered the mani himself.

2. Cheesy dialogue. Also uneccesary English dialogue.
