    gracias el professora, can i ask why comprar was not the conjugated verb and instead instead tener was?

    • @TeacherCatalina
      @TeacherCatalina  4 місяці тому +2

      Great question!
      Are you referring to minute 8:13? Maria tiene que comprar ….
      Comprar is not conjugated because what this sentence says it’s Maria has to buy … comprar means to buy. In this case we have to leave it in the infinitive to not change its meaning. Tener was conjugated because Maria has to (she has to) .
      This is part of the lesson tener que + infinitive. Here is the lesson: ua-cam.com/video/0RMOzABkShg/v-deo.htmlsi=lMwLWAlHGtKUks5D
      Hope this helps! Have a super day!

    Thanks for the great job of explaining the more advanced topic of indirect objects. I do have one question though (I'm still a beginner trying to understand everything I see). At 12:09, what is the difference between saying "a Maria y a Pepe" vs. "para Maria y Pepe" ?

    • @TeacherCatalina
      @TeacherCatalina  3 роки тому +1

      Hola Dave, Great question! If you said para ... the sentence structure would change a bit. In that case you would say: Yo preparo unos sándwiches para Maria y Pepe. Para is used to indicate the recipient of something, in this case the sandwich. Way to go learning Spanish!

      @@TeacherCatalina My main reason for learning Spanish is to better communicate with the co-workers I have where I am the business manager of a construction co. in Nor Cal. We have about 15 employees, most of whom were born and raised in Mexico. Not to mention most of our subcontractors and some friends who I don't work with too from Mexico. But....I'm also a hardcore mountain biker and want to visit either Costa Rica or Columbia to mtbike & learn more. I don't have a date for this trip yet nor have decided on which country to visit first.

    can you please explain when you added indirect object pronoun then why didn't you remove a maria y a pepe as you did in pedro example.

    • @TeacherCatalina
      @TeacherCatalina  Рік тому

      Hola. Great question! The subjects can be removed once we know who we are talking about since the pronouns implies who we are talking about.
