I have hard water - as a result my dishwasher gets really gross after just a couple of weeks. I've used Glisten & Lemi-shine to clean my dishwasher. Lemi-shine is FAR superior for my dishwasher. I like the fact that it is basically just concentrated citric acid (citric acid - the stuff in lemons and limes that makes them taste sour); comes in much better packaging for the environment (though not perfect), but most importantly it cleans EVERYTHING up so nicely. I do not have a stainless steel dishwasher and do not suffer from Calcium stains. I can say that when I put it in the dishwasher dispensing tray (along with the bottom of the dishwasher) it cleans really nicely.
I purchased a 4 pack. Read the directions & added 2 into my awful dishwasher that was in our newly purchased home. I worked quite well, but if you have a lot of build-up, use 2 packs, not 1. Some unusual reddish colored build up settled at the bottom of the dishwasher door. It took a lot of elbow grease and effort to get it off because I couldn't find our Goo Remover...that box wasn't unpacked yet. At least, I feel it is safe to put our used dishes into the dishwasher and have them come out clean.
IMPORTANT: Lemi Shine brand does not understand how dishwashers work, I don’t understand why they direct consumers to dump it into the bottom of the tub. Every dishwasher generally runs a PRE RINSE first, then drains it out and refills for the main wash and that’s when the detergent cup is scheduled to flip open, yes? You should be adding this product to the main closing detergent cup. Otherwise, adding it to the bottom of the tub means it’s getting flushed away within the first 10 minutes of the cycle. That’s very unaffective when the main wash is the cycle that spends the most time spraying the dishes and heating the water up, that’s when you want you’re cleaner to be in the water. Not during the pre rinse.
@@TheOptimalLife you’re welcome! I have no idea why they direct to pour it in the bottom that drives my OCD insane!!! Wouldn’t it work best during the longest part of the cycle while the water is heating to sanitizing temps? Lol.
I like the dual pods that have the detergent and mild cleaner but I did notice it out white residue on my dishes that would only come off with gentle scratching. I use the washing machine cleaner, I do it monthly so there’s not too much buildup and I can’t speak to how effective it is with lots of buildup but the sodium citrate smell is very nice afterwards!
Thx for the video. I would not expect this citric acid powder to clean hard water, calcium etc spots from your dishwasher. It may but that is only a band-aid. The root of the problem comes from your hard water. Hard water will also damage your dishwasher and make it's life expectancy much shorter. To combat the root problem here a person would install a water softener. Then you will also use less soap, doing dishes, washing clothes and showers. But this product may help with odors or some minor cleaning of the dishwasher.
I like this one … I think you did a great job with this little video but I think you should not expect a non toxic product to work as well as a more harsh toxic product … you probably needed two packets … it would of been nice if you mentioned how they do not do animal testing … most common house hold products are tested on animals … 🐇🧚♀️
Finnish has no ethics it’s awful for the environment and we should be caring about that … I think it works really well considering it’s Natural maybe use two packets next time if you give it another chance
What dishwasher cleaner do you like best?

I’ve used the Lemi-shine as well and liked it! It’s nice when companies offer environmentally friendly packaging. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Glad you mentioned about the environment 💗
Thank you for your demonstration 👍 think I will try 2 packs for the first clean 👏👏
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching.
My GE dishwasher manual actually lists LemiFresh as thier recommended cleaner.
That’s interesting to know- thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the tip! The next time I use it, I’ll have to try putting it in the dispenser to see if it works better that way,

I get some white residue also so thank you for the tip!
This looks great! I usually use the ones in the bottle and put the whole thing in there and it cleans really well😊
Those do work pretty well! Thanks for watching. 🙂
The toilet bowl cleaner is amazing!! Haven’t used dishwasher cleaner yet
I haven’t tried their toilet bowl cleaner yet but I may check it out sometime!
When I used it for the first time it said that if you had heavy buildup you should use two packages and then once a month there after
Yes, it does suggest two packs for heavy buildup! Thanks for watching 🙂

Works great in my dishwasher and they make a washing machine packet that works well.
I’m glad to hear that they work well for you!
Trying this in the washing machine now. Hopefully, it will work wonders, too.
I’m curious to hear how it works in a washing machine!
I have a vent on my dish washer dose it clean the out side too
This will only clean the inside of the dishwasher.
The sides are after your gasket. Your gasket appears to be leaking just a little
Thanks for the tip!
3:50 Ooh! Bespoke! Very nice.

Thanks! It’s true that the more natural products aren’t quite as strong. I definitely like that they don’t test on animals!
I just used one and it worked really well 💜

If you are getting spotting ? turn your rinse aid down its releasing to much.
Thanks for the tip!
