Thank you for your very insightful review of the Christmas Markets. It truly has helped us plan for our very short 3 day visit in Dec. We will probably do Rathausplatz, Schonbrunn and Karlskirche. Maybe get a chance to bump into both of you. Mulled Wine on us. My Christmas Wish. hahaha....er I mean...Ho ho ho
I meandered through Schonbrunn today! It was nice, but perhaps by being a weekend, it was rather overwhelming with a crowd. I may go back if I have time during my visit here mid-week though :)
It seems that your video of Schönbrunn is not from this year. There is a new operator there, as is the case at Spittelberg, and it looks completely different there. There are two carousels and a ferris wheel. You can also ice skate there. The market has gotten bigger but is still very pleasant.
I haven't been at a Viennese Christmas market in a couple of years, but I used to really like the Christmas market at the Freyung, and its nextdoor neighbour Am Hof. Am Hof didn't have the most cosy atmosphere, but some really nice vendor stalls. The Freyung is cute and cosy and very pretty when it's not too full, but can get crowded quite easily.
we are coming to Vienna because of Christmas markets. Is our first time to Vienna and i wonder if i can communicate because we do not know the language we only know English(and Greek 😂)thanks for the videos and all the information about Vienna
We are planning to move to Vienna with our small dog. Could you please do a video about owning a dog in vienna? Pros and cons, how easy or hard to find an apartment, can we bring dog to work etc please. Thanks 🙏
Hi, thank you for the video, it is very informative! One question: Is it mandatory to have cash on hand while strolling through the Christmas markets or card payments are accepted? Asking this because I’m a card person and often have close to 0 cash on me. Thank you for your time answering this!
We always recommend carrying some cash and also coins in Vienna. You will for sure need it for public restrooms 😅 when it comes to Christmas markets, I’m pretty sure you will be fine without cash this year after a certain transaction amount (~15€)
Hi, thank you for the helpful content! My family and I will be visiting Vienna from December 25 to 27 this year, and we’re a bit concerned as we’re not sure what will be open during this time. Could you provide any insights on which stores, restaurants, or Christmas markets will still be operating? We’d love to experience the festive atmosphere but want to plan accordingly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
awesome! any possibilities you could show us the mugs rating? top 10 or something like that
Much tradition in Vienna. Since 1296 december markets there. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎅
Thank you for all the information. 🎉❤

Glad you liked it! 🙂 good choice!
Thanks we will be there in 2 weeks. Always love Vienna.
We would love to hear which market you liked the best!

I think with those new attractions, Schönbrunn is going to be a hotspot this year. But mid-week is always a better idea 😅

Yes all the footage is from last year. We haven’t had a chance to visit the markets this year yet.

True…freyung is also beautiful, cozy but also expensive
thanks for the informative video:) Are there any entry tickets for these?
Christmas markets are free to enter. Only few exceptions where you need to buy tickets before entering.

You will be fine with English. Enjoy your trip!

We aren’t dog owners but will see if we can include a dog owner in a video. Can’t promise it though 🙏🏽
House tour next please 😊

The Christmas market at Riesenradplatz and Schönbrunn will definitely be open. When it comes to restaurants there will definitely be some open ones.
