It's Christmas time! 🎄Thanks for watching this week's video and we hope you enjoyed it! European Christmas Markets are one of the best parts of the Christmas season. Make sure to subscribe, because we will have more Christmas Market videos coming up in the next few week's including a super cool KRAMPUS parade in Austria. Merry Christmas! ☺ - Brandon & Anja
Which one?! We went to four! Hahaha. If you mean the main one, it was absolutely stunning! The settings of the markets in Austria are incredible. We just wish the prices were as cheap as Germany.
Hahaha, all of them! But when I was initially writing the comment (I kind of write as I go lol) it was about the village and when you walked to the biggest section with all of the rides! Especially with all of the lights!@@wherearewe-yt Yeah, Austria does not seem super cheap!!
I do the same. Hahaha. I want to comment on my initial reactions straight away so that I don't forget what I want to say. 🙃 It's funny though...the prices would still be nothing compared to what we would find at a North American Christmas Markets, but compared to the actual prices you pay for the same items outside of the Christmas Markets, it always feels super pricy! 😵
Exactly!! I get too distracted by other things if I don't jot it down right away! lol. Oh gosh... prices here right now are straight up criminal. Cannot wait to LEAVE! They've always got to mark it up when its for an event... too hahaha.@@wherearewe-yt
Thanks! Anja was lucky to grow up with such amazing Christmas Markets! They really are something special. This year, we're actually going to be spending Christmas and New Years in the UAE. That'll be interesting. 😅
The color and serenity of each frame is mesmerizing, reminding us of the wonder of the natural world. Thanks for sharing this moment of serenity and majesty. Nature never ceases to amaze us with its artistry. Keep spreading the beauty!💖💖💖💖
Maroni are good (about 5 out of 8) the rest sucks, especially being blasted with last cristmas constantly. It is not even a christmas song, It is about a spitefull jealous guy, who hasn't accepted his own sexual orientation yet.
We would love to! We visited UK Christmas markets in Cardiff and Exeter before and they were really beautiful and the UK has totally different foods and snacks which is nice. The German Christmas market in Edinburgh was very pretty too. Maybe in the future we can make a December tour through the UK and visit a bunch of them 😊
Great video ;))) But btw, Saint Nicolaus is not Santa Claus; these are two separate traditions ;) Santa Claus in Germany is more related to the figure of Knecht Ruprecht
Thanks a lot! 😊 I (Anja) am German. I think Knecht Ruprecht is Saint Nicholas' assistant or helper. He's beats the kids if they were bad. In the south of Germany and Austria they have Krampus instead of Knecht Ruprecht. The invention of Santa Claus or the "Weihnachtsmann" is indeed based on Saint Nicholas, although Saint Nicholaus, of course, comes on the 6th of December. I suppose Santa is kind of a mix between Saint Nicholas and Knecht Ruprecht. At least in my family nobody even paid attention to Knecht Ruprecht, and I am from Berlin. It's interesting how Christmas traditions vary quite a lot even within Germany. I had never heard about Krampus until I was in my 20s and I never really knew who the Christkind was growing up 😅
@@wherearewe-yt Also just to mention: Santa Claus - or "der Weihnachtsmann" actually does not exist in Austria. Here we have the "Christkind" instead. (Which is a bit of a weird combination between the Jesus child and an Angel, and is always female, mostly imagined as a young blonde girl in a long white dress with a fairy wand with a golden star and sparkles) ;-) "Most" is a little bit different from cider, because its very, very minor (almost non) alcoholic, and therefore still suitable for children. "Applejuice"->"Most"->"Sturm"->"Wine" Well, should have watched the video until the end before commenting.....
Fun fact: Christkind as the gift bringer was invented by Martin Luther to de-trone saint Nikolaus from the gift-bringer-role. So it originally was a protestant thing, and later got picked up by catholics as well
Interesting. I (Anja) didn't really know anything about the Christkind until I was in my 20s. When I was little my mom actually ordered a Weihnachtsmann and Christkind to come to our house but I always thought Santa came with an angel 😅. I also didn't know who Krampus was until I was an adult. But in our next video we actually met him and got beaten by him 😂
Since we were filming and didn't have much time, I think we took a tram part way, and then walked the rest! We often like to walk as much as we can, since that's the best way to stumble upon another little markets or interesting spots. Unfortunately, we had less than 48 hours in Vienna this time, and were also there for a concert - so time was a factor! Haha.
@@rayrew It was pretty cold when we were there filming! We'd definitely recommend getting transit in between. Luckily there's an U-Bahn stop right near St. Stephen's, so it's super easy to get to!
Chrismas markets are seen as something to rip off chinese travel busses with in vienna - still at the end they are so nice and chistmasy that we stop for 1 Punsch, until we stumble home with emptied pockets and a ridicolously overpriced snow globe (to tame the furious GF a little^^), from our own tourists trap. 🤣🤣
Hahaha. I mean..you're not wrong. They are pretty freakin' expensive. A lot of things are basically double the price of what you'd normally paid. It's the same here in Budapest. Actually, it's worse. 😬

If you liked Vienna, Zagreb must your next destination 🎄🤶🏼🎅🏼🎄
We've never been! We have only been to Dubrovnik before, so we'd love to check out Zagreb sometime.
@@wherearewe-yt then Xmas time for sure or Spring time! During summer it's mostly empty since everyone is at the seaside🌊🌊
