Steven Brown no dude, gentlemen’s gazette is a perfect example of how Kirby is better than the competitors. That dude makes dressing dapper seem like such a nerdy stuck up affair, he has a few vids that have decent info but overall Kirby is a vastly more charismatic and passionate and most of all fashionable UA-cam personality
Absolutely beautiful ties. The two (soon to be three on Friday once FedEx delivers) hanger project ties I own have quickly become my most reliable. They pair so easily and really are quite elegant. I only wish one day I could find a tie for someone my height (5'8"), closer to 140-145cm in length. Standard length tie are just a smidge too long, with the black blade hanging out past the point of casual elegance (though I have a creative solution by folding the black blade through the keeper in such a way that it is not noticeable).
Kirby, will you be doing 7 fold ties at some stage? There’s something special about wearing a tie made from one multi-folded piece of silk. Even better if it were in ancient madder as I don’t think there’s any 7 fold ancient madder available anywhere.
Finally a place to buy ties that are longer. Being 6'3" and mostly torso, finding a tie long enough is a pain. For comfort and stability I must have made to measure, at least, to the navel level if I want to wear a belt. Hip level requires braces: no exception, but finding a tie for that level is...........work. You obviously have passion for this: don't stop
Looking good. I have a quite different taste though. Most of my ties has no blade keepers and are made to my requested length and width from Singapore. Furthermore, depending on the material, I believe ties should have different numbers of fold and weights of interlining. Having a collection of ties made from absolutely the same fold and interlining seems boring for me. I would love to see the Hanger Project adopt a more organic collection of ties.
Another gem from Kirby -- "...Tying it 5 or 6 times in the morning to even get a passable knot!" :)) Some companies offer extra long ties, but very few offer shorter length ties. I'm not short at all (5'10'' I think), and yet any tie that is over 58 inches long ends up too long if I tie it in a four-in-hand, which is the knot I definitely prefer. Height is not the only thing that matters; it's also proportions (whether your torso is short or long) and where you wear your trousers (higher/lower waist). I had to shorten some of my favorite ties, as they were unwearable; thank God we have such alterations service in New York City. There's really no issue with the back blade being short after you tie your tie, but it's not acceptable for it to extend more than like 1/2 an inch below the front blade. I'd say, the standard length for ties shouldn't be longer than 58 inches.
Thanks Kirby. With your high prices you should really start considering free worldwide shipping my friend. Particularly, considering the covid situation.
I know, I was just messing with him. We all makes mistakes. A double half is the same as a whole. Just agreeing with you, just saying in a different way.
Great ties and detailed explanation on their quality and design. Unfortunately Like one comment before me, for a shorter gentlemen, even 150cm is too long for me. One day I'll find a quality grenadine tie my size.
@@kirbyallison 165cm. Victoria or four-in-hand Knot . I will most definitely try the Old Bertie, but I forgot to add in my original comment as it was quickly written, the width is also something that most ties can be too wide for me. 8cm wide enough.
What happened to the Red Pattern Ancient Madder Foulard Tie? It was linked in my email but the link is broken and I can't find it on the site. That's the one I wanted to order.
@@kirbyallison wow, that was the fastest reply to one of my comments from the presenter, or anyone, that I have ever had, well done, and thanks for the attention, and your content
No offense, but his top of the line ties cost $ 165 USD. Not cheap, I understand (however, high-end name brand ties can easily cost 2 times that), and I certainly understand not having a lot of money, but what I don't understand is how you could possibly have an entire suit that is cheaper than $ 165 USD? Best wishes.
Excellent set of ties.
This channel is so underrated. You can tell how passionate Kirby is about classic means ware. This is one of the best men’s ware channels on UA-cam.

The plastic sleeves the ties come in is a nice touch.

That pretend labor won't do itself!

Kirby Allison this comment was too good 😂
Way to turn up the charisma, Kirbs. Glad to see your channel attracting more subs. Will definitely be placing an order.
Will you be releasing a collection of ties in the 140-145cm range for us shorter folk?
Peter Manning has a length of 137 cm ties in stock. It is under the accessories menu.

Kirby, I would appreciate your opinion on 7-fold ties!? Do you have any experience or recommendations?
Kirby,
Great video. What are your thoughts on Robert Talbott's 7 fold silk tie?
I was trying to buy 10 for my entire team. Would only let me order 4. Not happy. Moving on.
great vid!
Kirby - no such a thing as a double windsor!!! it is either a full windsor or a half windsor.
I think he meant to say "Double half Windsor" :)

When will the ancient madder scarves be on the site?
They will be added to the website in late summer/early fall
