Funny story- I went to Drivers Ed with Jen. Did a couple drives with her. Had no clue that she was on Wizards until I saw her on tv. “Hey, I learned how to drive with that girl!”
To answer the question about not wanting to drive, me personally I don’t want to drive because I’m terrified, like full on anxiety attack. I have a lack of confidence in myself and also just completely scared of the wreckless deivers around me. I’ve gotten to the point I don’t even like being in the car as a passenger because other drivers scare me…they’re all either speeding, swerving in & out lanes, on their phone, drunk and/or high, & they just have no respect for other peoples lives
31:19 Although I do agree that technology is a huge factor. I think a bigger and most important factor is that community is not really a thing anymore. Going out to malls, parks, etcs, is either not safe or made very much with the intention of kicking kids out. I've heard too many stories of groups of friends simply going for a hike and getting the cops called on them for "loitering". It's too common for outdoor communities to no longer be all that welcoming. Also as someone in Texas, traffic is actually deadly. Just going to work everyday I almost crash at least 5 times because of how many just don't care to follow the rules...idk David I wish I could feel excited to go outside but I honestly don't. I get excited for nature but if I have to go anywhere it's either almost die in a car or walk forever.... 24 and still don't have my driver's license. It's embarrassing but in all honesty I can't even go get practice. I really don't want to die in a car
To offer an answer for the driving question my personal case is that I am terrified of driving weather it be lack of confidence or fear of other people on the road is why I don’t drive
Same im 28 and don't drive anywhere it's mostly because it scares me lol I could be as careful as I possibly can be and still end up in a deadly crash 🫠
this was a great episode! i love the episodes when you actually talk about episodes of wowp instead of inviting guests who arent even relavant to the show and barely talk about wowp. and i also like how you guys didnt derail too much from the plot of the episode! this was a great po ep guys! 💖
The junk in the back of Wizard's Weekly reminds me of the ads you could find in the back of comics or other kids' magazines; things like X-ray specs, sea monkeys and the like. The Russos having such a large apartment with a basement makes sense because in Rock Around the Clock we find out Jerry's dad owned the building, meaning that they aren't paying rent on the shop or the apartment, just property tax and insurance (and you know Jerry has the cheapest insurance if any). But even if they didn't own the building if Jerry inherited the apartment from his dad the apartment likely has rent control so he would still be paying a fraction of what the actual rent would be. Also the first time Alex uses the transport stick it does put her in the passenger seat. The second time she uses it she does so specifically to swap places with Dean. And yes Alex learns how to drive in Season 4. Which is funny because in this episode Harper mentions her racing outfit is for driver's ed, and in Season 4 Lucky Charmed she's taking driver's ed with Alex meaning Harper is so bad at driving she had to take driver's ed for 2 years.
For me, I was hesitant to get my license because we used to have speakers come to my high school about drunk driving and it terrified me to drive if there were drunk drivers out there
My personal answer to the driving question: I just didn’t have an interest. My family only had one car, so regardless of if I had a license or not, I couldn’t really go anywhere. I obviously knew how to drive before finally getting the license, but starting to learn took a long time because it wasn’t the most useful thing at the time
Just so yall know i find you two incredibly sweet and fun to watch and dont mind whatever you do during the podcast! I would watch ypu guys talk to whoever about anything lol ❤
Wow. That was like with my father. Every so often he would have a episode and forget his wife(my mother) had past away. And had to relive the loss over & over again to many times. It broke my heart! 😢💔
I doubt many people are consciously doing it for this reason, but there is a growing sentiment around just how bad "car culture" is, and how terrible it is for cities to be designed in a way that forces you to _need_ to drive everywhere. "Cars are freedom" is only true if your city doesn't have good pubkic transport and doesn't have things like parks, cafes, gyms, stores, etc. within a reasonably close distance that's comfortable and safe to cycle to instead. In truth, car culture is the very opposite of freedom, because it locks you in to some enormous expenses in buying a car, paying for petrol, maintenance, etc.
Jen should check the driver's license requirements if she's planning on driving in a foreign country. Most countries have the law that you can't drive a manual if you did your license in an automatic, but if you did it in a manual, then you automatically qualify for an automatic. But not all the countries have the same law.
Everyone is different to their own reason as to why they don’t want to drive, my reason is that I’m deathly afraid of driving and seriously don’t understand why there is a need for a car at all, it’s very expensive not only to own but to maintain, apart of offing oneself driving is one of the top killers in teenagers and people in their 20s, there has been an increase in the last 5 years of car crashes due to DUI or irresponsible driving, so if I can’t rely on people being careful while driving, I can’t rely on myself and trust myself to be safe and alert of what to do next.
Bruh, Wizards first season is streaming live on Disney Channel’s UA-cam channel, I’ve left it playing on repeat for months. I wish they would add each season as you begin to cover them.
I love the Max's iems of failure....the knockout stick is funny, so is the 3D glasses...but imagine having a mind reading device made out of macaroni///it would be cheaper and eassier to mass reproduce this, shame it only works at short distance
I’m 19 and for me personally, I don’t like driving because it makes me very anxious. I don’t trust other people cause Florida drivers are horrible and that’s where I live. So I don’t want to drive because I’m worried. I always had friends who could drive or my parents would drive me places, so I didn’t need it.
I dont drive because its too anxiety inducing for me. Not to mention all the already bad drivers on the road. The cost of having a car is expensive now. Gas prices are high, insurance is high, the price for cars as well. I live in the UK and there is a huge push for people to get Hybrid or Electric Cars to be compliant with the Carbon Emission rules and Goals.
Loved the episode!! Is it me or did the audio cut out from 38:29 to 39:02 ? Much love ❤
Same
The audio cut for me too!
Okay, glad it wasn't just me
Same omg
I thought I was going crazy
This episode has one of my favorite Harper lines. “Like My ‘PINION of that dress Harper, is that it’s beautiful” so funny
Funny story- I went to Drivers Ed with Jen. Did a couple drives with her. Had no clue that she was on Wizards until I saw her on tv. “Hey, I learned how to drive with that girl!”
OMG REALLY??? got any proof?
The basement pipe gag reminded me of Home Improvement, which David Deluise guest starred in an episode as the hardware store owner's son
38:43 Oops, we turned into a silent movie type of thing here...

This is my favorite episode because of max. The line where he is asking where his super bouncy ball it looks just like this one is hilarious!

This was my absolute favourite episode. Made me fall I love with the old Monte Carlo body style.

Speaking of Racing, David Deluise was in a Budweiser Commercial with NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr AKA Dale Jr
Look forward to mondays because of you guys ❤

Jennifer stone, I LOVE science and I’m glad you said about the Adam’s apple lol
I didnt drive until I was 18, even though I took drivers ED/had my permit at 15. There was just so much anxiety around driving, I felt overwhelmed.
31:14 it’s bc driving is VERY scary and for someone ppl it’s expensive (depends on where you live) and another reason is because we’re all lazy lol.
Love the episode
I wish you guys would give us time skips for all your ads. I loved the previous format with limited ad breaks better.
I just skip past them manually lol
@@PLLisAwesome1people have gotten so lazy.😂
Watching ads help them to continue making the podcast. Don’t be so quick to skip. It’s how they’re paid.
it really doesn’t take that much to skip them yourself.. hope that helps
I wish you weren’t so lazy. You want them to continue to make this they need the ads.
