There's lot to like about the polestar 2 but at the end of the day, it's too comprised being a ice platform. I love that its a liftback! Hopefully, next gen will be great! The model 3 long range rear wheel drive with 363 mi of range for $35,000 after the $7,500 federal tax rebate is a ridiculously good deal, especially now that they're offering 1.99% interest for 72 months.
Just was back to back in both this and the new 2024 RWD Tesla Model 3. This still feels more substantial than the Tesla but the Tesla still feels quicker and lighter on its feet. Other than the center console and charging network, this competes very well with the Tesla. A lot to like here. With Tesla doubling down on that big center screen, deleting the turn signal and shift stalks this wins in a lot of ways. But there is the price. Egads. Great review!
How do the seats compare? I have driven the new model 3 but not the polestar. I feel like the seats in the model 3 are lack thigh support and a little narrow.
@@officialyasir very hard to beat Tesla seats. They also win. But to your point they may be a a little short for taller folks (thigh support) And they are standard heated and ventilated. Nothing really wrong with Polestar seats, much more bolstering and they do have the thigh extenders. Tesla is just really annoying with that turnstalk delete. Alot of folks say it’s not a big deal but in combination with the center screen (where you have to look to see if you hit the right one) it’s just annoying. Polestar nails this with a great instrument cluster and normal controls. Pricewise in the US you would need to look for a used Polestsr to compete with new Tesla prices.
@@BeyondTheTestDrive yeah, no stocks is quite annoying, I agree. Used P2s have definitely depreciated so there are some good deals to be had. I guess my other concern is servicing the polestar. Last I checked Volvo wasn't servicing them and polestar dealers are few and far in between..
@@officialyasir good point. With the debut of the PS 3 and 4 we’ll see if Polestar has a chance. Manufacturing is supposed to shift to the Us to avoid tariffs. Right now they are just not price competitive.
Consumer reports gave this a 38/100 in their overall score. I've always said it's a little harsh, but there are issues to be addressed, but overall a 38 is quite harsh for a car from a brand that isn't even 10 years old.
