Greetings, as a longtime and knowledgeable motorcycle fanatic congrats on your new bike . However, you seem very mystified by your new purchase. Allow me to shed some light . The weight is not all that light, Harley's are overweight cruisers so if you are used to those a average weight bike will feel light. I have a Kawasaki ninja sportbike currently, so not exactly sure what the weight of your bike is, but without checking I would guess around 480 to 520 pounds. The high pipes are designed that way so when you ride off road you don't hit the pipes against rocks and other terrain. Honda dual purpose scramblers from the 1970s had high pipes like your new bike, and also a spark arrester to prevent igniting any dry bush when riding off road. Also, rest assured that bike has a higher top speed than 70 mph. On any " standard" street bike or dual purpose adventure bike you are " perched" more on it as opposed to sitting low on a cruiser. The reason for this is dual purpose bikes have a higher ground clearance so when you are riding off road you don't hit rocks or other terrain. I applaud you for trying something different, I think in time you will grow to love the triumph. Note as you ride it it is far more manuveable than your Harley. Keep your videos coming, they are fun to watch and stay safe. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had my Scrambler 1200XC since early June of this year, and I just rolled past 10,000 miles on my way to work this morning. I've owned and ridden many varieties of bikes over the years, but my favorites have always been Triumphs. I'll never get near a Hardley Ableson again.

    Congrats Jess!
The Scrambler 1200XC is an awesome bike - I got mine in July! The classic looks, torque/power, sound, features, and riding comfort (I'm 6'2" with a 34" inseam) are awesome.
Just one test ride and I was hooked! - I never imagined one bike could check so many boxes. I live in northern Ohio farm country and this type of bike is the perfect fit for the type of roads I ride on.

On a naked bike you feel....well naked. I had a cruiser and I used to wear just a jacket and jeans, I traded for a supernaked and all you see is pavement. After that I went and got proper riding boots and riding pants to compliment that jacket. Also you can adjust the bars so you sit on the seat and not the tank. I thought you said you bought that bike..... Wipe shaving cream on both sides of your visor, and spread it all over, then don't rinse it just remove it with a paper towel, your visor will be fog free for about a week then just repeat the process. I do that and it works great.

You should be able to get a fly screen at least to cut down on the wind blast. Either from the Triumph accessory catalogue or the aftermarket. That height comes in very handy in traffic, you get a much better view of what’s ahead. Many happy miles and smiles.

You do the errands through London, ride to Hyde Park, and stop to heat up your teapot on the exhaust manifold at four o'clock. Perfect afternoon.
Furthermore, if you find yourself on gravel, think of it as though you are walking on marbles; slow things down, expect to go a little bit sideways, and be prepared to have little bits flying everywhere.

We seem to have a theme among the riders here. Just ride !!!! Try them all out and you can probably find something to like about most of them. That doesn't make any one better than another, it just makes them different. Sure, some are better at one thing or another than other bikes but that still doesn't make them the be all end all of motorcycles. Most BMW models have been uncomfortable to this rider, however the K 1200 LT and the K 1600 GTL, seem to fit me just fine as an example. Motorcycles are life. Get your ride on Jess !!!!!! Get your ride on !!!!!!!

I've been riding Harleys since 77. In January I bought a new non Harley. My first new bike ever. It is also a street/off road bike. Its also a lightweight compared to the Harley, and tall. I bought a new KTM 790 Adventure. I still ride my Heritage but I do like the KTM. Now that it has cooled off here in the desert I can ride again and am loving them both. You'll enjoy having a stable mount to the dyna. Just be forewarned, you will start feeling guilty if you ride one more than the other. Be safe!

Have a 2013 Triumph Scrambler and 2018 Triumph Bobber Black. The bobber definitely sits low and you feel more connected to the road but both bikes are smooth. Neither necessarily comfortable for long rides, especially on highway as wind kind be tiring. When I go off road on single track, I still prefer my dirt bike to the scrambler - lighter and more nimble. You made a good choice however. Enjoy.

Hi Jess, I think if you want to do offroading on a scrambler I personally believe that the Ducati Desert Sled would be a better fit for any offroad riding. The Sled has better offroading tires for getting through trails. The sitting position is just like that of a dirt bike. The exhaust is in a spot to not get the rider too hot because it doesn't touch the leg. The mudguards are around the size of a dirt bikes so as to not get the rider covered in well everything. Also, the Sled has more frame and engine protection in case of a spill so you're not paying for a bunch of damages like you would be on the Triumph which has less protection. Plus the Ducati Desert Sled is just so damn tough looking. It is basically a dirt bike that transforms into a comfortable road bike. It's the best of both worlds. That is exactly why Jordan Graham rode one to the first place finish line position in the 2020 Mint 400. Stay safe and healthy.

I have had over 20 bikes, most Harleys (14 from Farrows haha), 3 Hayabusa's, but it was not until 2015 I discovered the Adventure Bike, BMW GS. I have never loved a bike as much as I do the GSA, sitting up on top of the bike and still feeling it's a part of you makes a huge difference, the almost 10 gallon tank on a massive bike is pretty amazing. Going out west nothing comes close to an adventure bike imo. It's great that you are riding different bikes and enjoy the journey because that's really what it's all about.

Great analogy. You're gonna have lots of fun on that scrambler.
If you're comfortable on 2 wheels, why not keep it, you may need it. 😂😂😂👍

Your video was an inspiration to me! Because of that I picked up a project bike to feature on my channel...and its not a triumph this time! (Still keeping my speed twin)

Your going to find a huge difference in the cornering. Triumphs have always been understated as a cruising bike but I rode a Bonnie 73-78 tens of thousands of miles and always with a smile ear to ear.
It's a different ride from most cruising and touring rides.

After over 25 years of riding nothing but American V twins. I bought a Moto Guzzi to go with my Harleys. It's fun and reminds me of the bikes I rode as a teenager. Have fun on your new bike.

Wow... I love a digital display like that. I have often considered that exact bike vs a new Harley Roadster. You make for a compelling argument.

Your dyna would be fine on gravel roads. It has a lower center of gravity than the triumph. My 93 Harley fxr has a lower center of gravity than my 05 Suzuki 650 vstrom. I've taken the Harley up dirt mountain switchbacks in Colorado.

Cool bike...I'm thinking about a Royal Enfield continental or interceptor which is weird coming from Harley Softail. I also had a triumph tiger...all bikes are pretty cool but really they are purpose driven 👍🇺🇸

Try the Triumph Speed Twin with heated grips and get a small screen, seat height is smaller and the 1200 cc has 3 riding modes, traction control, ABS, and 83 ft. pounds of torque. After that you might want to ditch the pricey, matainence heavy Harley's?

Yes I understand that. I owned a brand new Triumph2017 Street Scrambler, a great looking bike especially in that matte green but it was underpowered, was only 5 speed and had tubed tires. I traded it in for a 2019 Speed Twin and WOW, what a bike!

Personally I don't like the Scrambler, but the Bonnie version is much better for the road, I don't do off road either. You should test ride the older Triumph Thunderbird 1600 or 1700 Cruiser.
