I bet we could make a whole book out of "what not to do when you sew!" I know I've done a few things I'd rather not remember! Just part of life. That Lisette dress looks fabulous! You can tell how nice the fabric is by how it drapes and doesn't cling - perfect! The velvet dress is also so pretty, but I also understand if you are not comfortable in a "body-conscious" dress as a lot of us who are a little bit more...mature 😁...aren't as they were not so much in style when we were younger and it doesn't feel right.

I picked up a shaping full slip (in the lingerie section) at Walmart and it made all the difference. Oh, I do hope you finish it. 🍀 Bernadette

Hi Dianne! ☺ I love your Lisette dress, it turned out fabulously! I used to kind of collect those Lisette patterns, I don't have many of them any more, but had really good luck from the ones I made. The McCall's 8067 not so much 🙃 I've absolutely not put my stitch settings back to 'normal'!! lol It's so jarring to put the fabric in and it does a spontaneous zig-zag when you're not expecting it to!!! Remembering Jack Freppon, my husband's best friend in Vietnam. Wayne was an Army medic, so Jack probably was as well. Jack was a white guy who grew up in Harlem, New York City, an orphan raised by a black family. I imagine him a little towhead in long shorts holding Daddy's hand, never knowing -- at least for a little while -- about racial prejudice! As to sewing, you are fortunate to not be a large cup size. I am content tweaking a couple of "custom fit" patterns for many garments.

I love your videos, Dianne. Just love listening to your lilting voice. Where are you from? Can’t quite pinpoint the accent. I’m guessing the Carolinas. I was raised in East Texas, so I love listening to various Southern accents. So soothing! When my accent occasionally comes through (usually when I return from a visit to Houston), I constantly have to tell folks I have a Texas accent, not Southern. I have to explain that Texas is not part of the south, that accents are classed geographically and Texas is located in the middle, not to the right on the map! Most “other” people (you know who I mean! 😹) hear “South” and think “Confederacy.” That’s why they’re confused.. Bless their hearts. 🙄

I think the ruched dress looks great on you! Your lighting on the previous 2 videos seemed to be much better. Today it is hard to see due to the brightness. Have you tried to white balance your camera? Hoping to be helpful. I am a true fan of your channel. Love seeing what you make.
