I don't agree. Hercules deserve number 1, why? Simple, not only did he give up his dream of being a god with his birth family (the wish for what he worked so hard so many years) But he also was willing to accept being trapped forever in the underworld and I mean FOREVER, on that soul pool just so Meg could live again. Eugene was just going to die, but Hercules was going to die AND be trapped FOREVER in a miserable world where he would be a ghost spinning in sorrow for all eternity, c'mon, you CAN'T top that :/

While David is a great character there are a couple of hurdles for him to be on this list: Lilo and Stitch is not considered a princess/prince movie and while his attraction to Nani is clear, his actions are more on the friendly side rather than romantic.

@Elizabeth Wells one of the most developed and "alive" character Disney ever made compared to countless heroes love interest and even to some degree more "alive" than the official Princess like Jasmine and Snow White for example. That is far too often being simply independent, smart and caring its boring. Giving Megara sassy personality make her stand out brightly and unforgettable. To bad Hercules as a character isn't as interesting enough as he is a generic hero. Aladdin could walk away as a classic despute Jasmine being generic independent woman because she is only a deutragonist to the main Hero Aladdin which have a unique character and personality. Hercules in my opinion is just another superhero. But it's great that Disney learn that lesson (most of) their Superhero lead (so far) is a complex and alive character

If I Never Knew You is one of my favorite love songs because its the only one that isn’t bright and sunny, but rather they do not regret falling in love with each other, and they’ll always be in love with each other. Doesn’t help in Part 2 she already knew for how long? Seriously the movie should’ve started with her being informed by Thomas or one of the previous settlers of his death, and we see her absolutely crushed after how many trips to Jamestown every time a ship came in, hoping to finally be reunited with her love, and they’ll never leave each other ever again (in reference to “I can’t leave you. You never will”) Its no wonder Mel Gibson didn’t reprise his role, took one good look at the script and said “Not today Satan” I guess they weren’t lying when they said he was dead. The real John Smith would’ve never acted like such a jerk or let her go, I mean when he figures out she doesn’t love him all he said was “This isn’t what you want is it?” Like seriously dude?! It was so f***ing obvious where he belonged was wherever she is. The fact the sequel actually ends with her dumping him is flat out insulting as we don’t even get a wedding scene either. Historical accuracy my a**, Pocahontas was already married with a son when she moved to England, and she never got to return home, she died in her early 20’s.
*spoilers for Tangled: the Series in this comment* I absolutely adore the character growth Rapunzel and Eugene go through in this show. Their relationship is so beautiful, loving, and healthy. There is not a second where you doubt just how much they love each other. And I love how their relationship comes full circle in the series finale, where Eugene takes Rapunzel out on the same boat where they fell in love under the stars and proposes to Rapunzel again and finally gets the yes he’s been waiting for, effectively moving their relationship on to the next step in the very same place where it originally began

I don't know how to feel about Naveen not being mentioned in place of Ray who just kept proclaiming his love while Naveen sacrificed his plans to let Tiana have her dream.
1. John Smith singing If I Never Knew You. The first verse is literally based on their encounter, confirming he’s been madly in love with her ever since he looked at her. The second emotes how he used to view anyone different from him, and he knows deep down she doesn’t regret meeting him either, then he actually thanked her for saving him from himself, the “lost forever” literally unknowingly refers to her dream with the compass. Honestly a part of me kinda wished it was just him singing instead, but this is also his way of saying despite this isn’t the ending he wanted its ok and he’s ready to die. “I’d rather die tomorrow, than live a hundred years without knowing you” and “You never will, no matter what happens to me I’ll always be with you forever” Also the conversation before is so beautiful when she says “I’m so sorry.” He so sweetly responded “For what? This??” Giving a don’t worry about me feel, as he doesn’t fault her for ANYTHING that happened, because she’s been worth it, both the good and bad, and he loves her no matter what happens, and doesn’t even want to think about a life without her in it. When he is released, the way he’s looking at her is so beautiful as he was so terrified of losing her, and his embrace showed he was never letting her go again. The fact he actually had the choice to let her father be killed just proves how much he changed, knowing the bullet would probably kill him. Plus in the end he loved her so much he respected her decision to stay with her people instead, despite deep down I feel he was sadder about their separation than her, knowing full well they’d probably NEVER see each other EVER again. I have yet to see another Disney couple let each other go, not including Beast because Belle came back in like 2 hours or Flynn giving up his miracle to save Rapunzel as her tears revived him. 2. Flynn Rider taking Rapunzel to the lights. The entire scene is probably the most magical scene in ANY movie, honestly I’m pretty mad they didn’t kiss, THEN he noticed his comrades. Also him giving up his one miracle to save her knowing it would kill him 😭😭 Also in the series he is so patient when she isn’t ready to get married. 3. Hercules jumping into the Stix River to revive Meg. The fact the river nearly killed him is chilling, and technically Hades could’ve allowed Meg to be revived THEN Hercules is forced to stay in the Underworld forever. Also the fact he gave up being a freaking god, Meg can’t ever complain 4. Philip fighting Malificent. While its kinda weird he was ready to give up EVERYTHING just to be with a girl he spent 5 minutes with, seeing he’s known his whole life he has a duty as a prince. I still can’t get over how fairytale like it is, I mean without the fairies helping him he would’ve become lunch. Honestly I’m kinda surprised Malificent didn’t actually fly. The very moment she screamed “Now oh prince you shall deal with me and all the powers of hell!” and turned into a freaking dragon he had the most terrified look on his face, but chose to fight anyway 5. Naveen willing to marry Lottie to make Tiana’s dreams come true. This is coming from a playboy who just wanted a luxurious life but in the end is willing to marry someone he doesn’t love or particularly like to help Tiana. The fact Lottie thought she fell with the real Naveen the entire time, but in the end deep down knew Tiana and Naveen loved each other, she wishes them all the happiness, giving up her dream to become a real princess. Also Tiana not giving into Facilier’s temptation despite seeing Naveen about to marry Lottie. 6. Shang letting go of Mulan. In the sequel he didn’t want her falling in the river with him to their deaths so he let go. They even had a few spats over different things but eventually accepted each other with their differences. 7. Kovu refusing to attack Simba. He was raised in hatred to kill Simba, but because of Kiara’s tomboy personality it softened his heart. I mean he even agrees to go back with her even after Simba publicly shamed and exiled him with animals throwing rocks and scorning him. 8. Beast saving Belle from the wolves and in the sequel almost being trapped under the ice. The wolves he literally roared at her, but chose to go after her, and she had the chance to go home to her dad. The ice, she literally ends up falling in, I think the rope holding the tree even wraps around her, and if he hadn’t gone after her she would’ve either drowned or easily froze to death. Plus in the end he ends up allowing Christmas, plus the ending scene he gave her a rose as a present is so beautiful 9. Kristoff just being there for Anna. Despite I don’t get how they became a couple in the end, I personally feel he wasn’t falling in love for her, just making sure she didn’t die. But in the sequel he just can’t find the right time to propose and even feels kinda useless, but his quote “My love isn’t fragile” 😍

Eugene cutting off Rapunzel's hair and setting her free of Gothel in his final breath instead of allowing her to heal him and living his life knowing she'll be inslaved to the cruel witch for the rest of her life. It's just so heartbreakingly romantic that I admit I cried at that scene, and then cried all over again in the following scene where Rapunzel sings the healing incantation over Eugene's lifeless body while sobbing heavily, her tear drops falling on his cheek and bringing him back to life. And then that kiss!!!!
Yes...Eugene taking Rapunzel to see the lanterns still makes me cry years later...I love that more recent Disney princes are supportive of a female who is strong and has her own dreams and can encourage and support her as he has his own. Talk about a real man. ❤

FAM. I LOVE the library scene just as much as any girl but I think what it needed to be replaced with is the scene where he lets her GO. That is THE most romantic thing he did because Belle agreed to stay there forever and even knowing that her father was in danger she wasn't going to leave without his say so. So instead of saving himself for the chance to become human again, he UNDERSTANDS her needs and lets her go KNOWING that she wasn't going to come back. Make me tear up every time I watch it
in the Live Action beauty and the beast movie, the Library scene is extended on and also very cute. The beast tells belle that in the Library she is the master and i really think it's cute
I got an idea for a list: top ten most breathtaking scenes or frames from animated Disney and Pixar movies (do Pixar first if they should be separated). Couple of ideas for parts that could be on it: the lantern science from tangled, wall-e in touching that random planet’s rings before they get to the axium, and my personal pick for number one, the reveal of the land of the dead in coco.

I'm so happy that one of the Beauty and the Beast moments made it on the list because it's my favourite Disney movie but I would say the moment when Beast let Belle go was a much more romantic moment then the library one because that's what you do when you truly love someone you put them first.
But the library scene was also very romantic because he wanted to make her happy with something she loves , while Gaston criticized her for reading, Beast was encouraging her to do so

Finally Eugene is 1st, I couldn't agree more he's the best male Disney character. Apart from the most romantic Disney scene (the boat scene) he, what's even more precious and romantic, sacrificed himself for her by cutting her hair and giving her freedom meanwhile losing his only chance to heal, but he wanted be sure that she'll be safe because he loves her that was his goal to came the tower then. Some people say that he could've waited until she healed him. He couldn't because Gothel definitely'd have pulled her away from him immediately and he didn't even know how fast that cut worked on Gothel. It shows how he loved Rapunze, that's true love.

While I love Shang staying for dinner, to me the true romantic moment was when he acknowledged her intelligence and prowess during the final showdown. Especially given the time period, that was truly something.

@Elizabeth Wells one of the most developed and "alive" character Disney ever made compared to countless heroes love interest and even to some degree more "alive" than the official Princess like Jasmine and Snow White for example. That is far too often being simply independent, smart and caring its boring. Giving Megara sassy personality make her stand out brightly and unforgettable.
To bad Hercules as a character isn't as interesting enough as he is a generic hero. Aladdin could walk away as a classic despute Jasmine being generic independent woman because she is only a deutragonist to the main Hero Aladdin which have a unique character and personality.
Hercules in my opinion is just another superhero. But it's great that Disney learn that lesson (most of) their Superhero lead (so far) is a complex and alive character

If I Never Knew You is one of my favorite love songs because its the only one that isn’t bright and sunny, but rather they do not regret falling in love with each other, and they’ll always be in love with each other. Doesn’t help in Part 2 she already knew for how long? Seriously the movie should’ve started with her being informed by Thomas or one of the previous settlers of his death, and we see her absolutely crushed after how many trips to Jamestown every time a ship came in, hoping to finally be reunited with her love, and they’ll never leave each other ever again (in reference to “I can’t leave you. You never will”)
Its no wonder Mel Gibson didn’t reprise his role, took one good look at the script and said “Not today Satan” I guess they weren’t lying when they said he was dead. The real John Smith would’ve never acted like such a jerk or let her go, I mean when he figures out she doesn’t love him all he said was “This isn’t what you want is it?” Like seriously dude?! It was so f***ing obvious where he belonged was wherever she is. The fact the sequel actually ends with her dumping him is flat out insulting as we don’t even get a wedding scene either. Historical accuracy my a**, Pocahontas was already married with a son when she moved to England, and she never got to return home, she died in her early 20’s.

I absolutely adore the character growth Rapunzel and Eugene go through in this show. Their relationship is so beautiful, loving, and healthy. There is not a second where you doubt just how much they love each other. And I love how their relationship comes full circle in the series finale, where Eugene takes Rapunzel out on the same boat where they fell in love under the stars and proposes to Rapunzel again and finally gets the yes he’s been waiting for, effectively moving their relationship on to the next step in the very same place where it originally began

I don't know how to feel about Naveen not being mentioned in place of Ray who just kept proclaiming his love while Naveen sacrificed his plans to let Tiana have her dream.
Eugene & the lanterns are great but I think him using his last moments of life to save Rapunzel was better.
1. John Smith singing If I Never Knew You. The first verse is literally based on their encounter, confirming he’s been madly in love with her ever since he looked at her. The second emotes how he used to view anyone different from him, and he knows deep down she doesn’t regret meeting him either, then he actually thanked her for saving him from himself, the “lost forever” literally unknowingly refers to her dream with the compass. Honestly a part of me kinda wished it was just him singing instead, but this is also his way of saying despite this isn’t the ending he wanted its ok and he’s ready to die. “I’d rather die tomorrow, than live a hundred years without knowing you” and “You never will, no matter what happens to me I’ll always be with you forever” Also the conversation before is so beautiful when she says “I’m so sorry.” He so sweetly responded “For what? This??” Giving a don’t worry about me feel, as he doesn’t fault her for ANYTHING that happened, because she’s been worth it, both the good and bad, and he loves her no matter what happens, and doesn’t even want to think about a life without her in it. When he is released, the way he’s looking at her is so beautiful as he was so terrified of losing her, and his embrace showed he was never letting her go again. The fact he actually had the choice to let her father be killed just proves how much he changed, knowing the bullet would probably kill him. Plus in the end he loved her so much he respected her decision to stay with her people instead, despite deep down I feel he was sadder about their separation than her, knowing full well they’d probably NEVER see each other EVER again. I have yet to see another Disney couple let each other go, not including Beast because Belle came back in like 2 hours or Flynn giving up his miracle to save Rapunzel as her tears revived him.
2. Flynn Rider taking Rapunzel to the lights. The entire scene is probably the most magical scene in ANY movie, honestly I’m pretty mad they didn’t kiss, THEN he noticed his comrades. Also him giving up his one miracle to save her knowing it would kill him 😭😭 Also in the series he is so patient when she isn’t ready to get married.
3. Hercules jumping into the Stix River to revive Meg. The fact the river nearly killed him is chilling, and technically Hades could’ve allowed Meg to be revived THEN Hercules is forced to stay in the Underworld forever. Also the fact he gave up being a freaking god, Meg can’t ever complain
4. Philip fighting Malificent. While its kinda weird he was ready to give up EVERYTHING just to be with a girl he spent 5 minutes with, seeing he’s known his whole life he has a duty as a prince. I still can’t get over how fairytale like it is, I mean without the fairies helping him he would’ve become lunch. Honestly I’m kinda surprised Malificent didn’t actually fly. The very moment she screamed “Now oh prince you shall deal with me and all the powers of hell!” and turned into a freaking dragon he had the most terrified look on his face, but chose to fight anyway
5. Naveen willing to marry Lottie to make Tiana’s dreams come true. This is coming from a playboy who just wanted a luxurious life but in the end is willing to marry someone he doesn’t love or particularly like to help Tiana. The fact Lottie thought she fell with the real Naveen the entire time, but in the end deep down knew Tiana and Naveen loved each other, she wishes them all the happiness, giving up her dream to become a real princess. Also Tiana not giving into Facilier’s temptation despite seeing Naveen about to marry Lottie.
6. Shang letting go of Mulan. In the sequel he didn’t want her falling in the river with him to their deaths so he let go. They even had a few spats over different things but eventually accepted each other with their differences.
7. Kovu refusing to attack Simba. He was raised in hatred to kill Simba, but because of Kiara’s tomboy personality it softened his heart. I mean he even agrees to go back with her even after Simba publicly shamed and exiled him with animals throwing rocks and scorning him.
8. Beast saving Belle from the wolves and in the sequel almost being trapped under the ice. The wolves he literally roared at her, but chose to go after her, and she had the chance to go home to her dad. The ice, she literally ends up falling in, I think the rope holding the tree even wraps around her, and if he hadn’t gone after her she would’ve either drowned or easily froze to death. Plus in the end he ends up allowing Christmas, plus the ending scene he gave her a rose as a present is so beautiful
9. Kristoff just being there for Anna. Despite I don’t get how they became a couple in the end, I personally feel he wasn’t falling in love for her, just making sure she didn’t die. But in the sequel he just can’t find the right time to propose and even feels kinda useless, but his quote “My love isn’t fragile” 😍

Eugene cutting off Rapunzel's hair and setting her free of Gothel in his final breath instead of allowing her to heal him and living his life knowing she'll be inslaved to the cruel witch for the rest of her life. It's just so heartbreakingly romantic that I admit I cried at that scene, and then cried all over again in the following scene where Rapunzel sings the healing incantation over Eugene's lifeless body while sobbing heavily, her tear drops falling on his cheek and bringing him back to life. And then that kiss!!!!
Yes...Eugene taking Rapunzel to see the lanterns still makes me cry years later...I love that more recent Disney princes are supportive of a female who is strong and has her own dreams and can encourage and support her as he has his own. Talk about a real man. ❤

That is THE most romantic thing he did because Belle agreed to stay there forever and even knowing that her father was in danger she wasn't going to leave without his say so. I'm so happy that one of the Beauty and the Beast moments made it on the list because it's my favourite Disney movie but I would say the moment when Beast let Belle go was a much more romantic moment then the library one because that's what you do when you truly love someone you put them first.
But the library scene was also very romantic because he wanted to make her happy with something she loves , while Gaston criticized her for reading, Beast was encouraging her to do so

Some people say that he could've waited until she healed him. He couldn't because Gothel definitely'd have pulled her away from him immediately and he didn't even know how fast that cut worked on Gothel. It shows how he loved Rapunze, that's true love.
