4K is actually 4 times the resolution of 1080p. Sorry. This is what happens when you shoot videos at 2am. :)

i need help... want to set up a relatively high end 4k HDR projector home theater system.. the distance between the walls in the lounge is 17 feet... which projector and screen would you recommend+ media player (i will use this projector for gaming, movies, tv shows, everyday tv use)

Sony vw385es. If that's too expensive then the Sony vw285es. I would recommend either the nvidia shield pro or Apple tv.

Majestechs planning on getting the LG HU80KA ( thoughts ?) which can pair with sound bars via Bluetooth- would you recommend a sound bar or a surround sound system ? And what size screen would you recommend ? The distance from wall to wall in my lounge is 17.9 feet I’m confused between 120, 135, and 150 inches framed screen

BEWARE!!! 95% of sellers are advertising v2.0 HDMI cables and only selling v1.4 Cables!! They are both "High Speed" cables, but the v1.4 is only capable of speeds up to 10.2Gbps, whereas the v2.0 is capable of speeds up to 18Gbps!! Even the Amazon Basics v2.0 HDMI cables are being wrongly advertised.... I literally couldn't believe my eyes because a large company like Amazon should really get it's facts right!!!

KnuKonceptz is a reputable brand. Would this HDMI cable be true v2.0? www.knukonceptz.com/home-theater/dvi-hdmi-cables/sp/krystal-hdmi-20-certified-high-speed-hdmi-cable-with-ethernet-2-feet/

@@ArnoldGaming Hi, these cables seem a bit dodgy to be honest. The seller is first saying these cables are HDMI 2.0 compliant and is also saying they perform to 18Gbps speeds, but then lower down they are also saying the quality of the picture possible does not meet HDMI 2.0 18Gbps standards..... so it's unclear whether the seller of these cables just does not understand their own product... in which case I would avoid buying from them, or perhaps they are mis selling lower performance cables disguised as higher performance cables... in which case I would also avoid. Also this website they are selling on clearly says it is "Not Secure".... ok I would avoid buying these.

@@hdmi4khdr60hz4 Hmm that may be possible. But since I am in car audio knukonceptz is a reputable brand as they sell high quality RCA cables and speaker wire cables that are copper OFC but yea the HDMI seems a bit sketchy

I never like or subscribe to videos, they never seem concise enough to warrant it. You speak clearly, not too fast or slow, use appropriate imagery to describe everything well and are friendly in your demeanor which makes the confusion less daunting all without being needlessly comedic as other content creators try to do. All top info, no waffle and well packaged. Definitely warrants a like and subscribe. I look forward to watching your other content as this has really helped me in a few short minutes. Well done.

I'm on the 10 year cycle. I'm fortunate I waited long enough to buy a 4k tv with HDR 10+. If I waited a little longer, I could probably get one with Dolby Vision HDR and ATSC 3.0 compatible. But these tech companies know how to play the game better than we do. At this point, I would say a 20 year cycle is best for buying new tv's in this new age.

  • @1Dub79
    @1Dub79 7 років тому +12

@ 3:08, I learned this the hard way. In October, I bought my first 4K TV, which is a TCL 55p605 Of course, it has HDR. I bought some, cheap, WalMart-exclusive HDMI cables, called Blackweb. They were, like $12+. They WERE high-speed, 2.0 4K cables. Everything was fine, watching 4K content, UNTIL I bought an actual 4K Blu Ray player. The display showed good, but very dim. Also, when playing my PS4 Pro in HDR, the picture was bright, but the quality seemed, slightly grainy. I was puzzled. One day, I was searching on Best Buy's website, just browsing 4K movies. I saw some HDMI cables by Audioquest. I saw the cables were high in price. However, I saw on the top of the cable, 4+HDR. Saw many great ratings. I decided to buy one. I used it, when watching my 4K Blu-Ray player and noticed the display, was much brighter, clearer and had better sound. That made me realize, if you have a 4K TV with HDR, which many do not, you must have a 4K cable that SUPPORTS HDR.

Well done Mr. Majestic, thank you. My only add is the fact some of the older 4K capable TV's may have a HDCP 2.2 input but it is not labeled. For my Samsung it was HDMI IN 3 (MHL). The others, HDMI IN 1 (STB), HDMI IN 2 (DVI), and HDMI 4 (ARC) were incompatible. This fact was hidden deep in the Owners Manual.

I first learned about HDCP when I bought a projector and the HD-DVD add on for the Xbox 360. My first projector was an older Dell, and I had to buy a DVI to HDMI adapter, which was not compatible with playing HD-DVD's due to HDCP. I had to use component cables, which had no dependency on HDCP, to watch 1080P movies on my 360.

My more realistic dream system (and wife 𝘼𝙥𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙) would be a 65-75in 4K TV that supports all the latest tech and variations (ARC, Atmos, Dolby X, HDPC2, etc..), outstanding audio with ceiling mounted speakers and something to tie everything together to make it easy to use everyday by everybody......I watching all your videos for that expert advice and education.

What about the variations within a line of 4K. I'm leaning toward the Samsung QLED because of the price points vs the Sony OLED. When I looked at the two of them, I could not discern a difference. However within the Samsung lineup, they have all sorts of different HDR engine to run the content.

Great video thanks. Maybe you can help me out. I want to get rid of the old and in with the new. I'm thinking ps4 pro. 4k TV. Receiver and floor speakers a center speaker and bass bottom. How do I match this all up with a $1500 budget?

Great video. So if you have a base PS4, will it be upscaled to 4k?

Quicky but a goodie for sure. Thanks for all the very complex information. I was able to follow you on everything you said albeit with some notes I had prepared in advance. Very well presented. Too bad they don't have salesmen like you in places like Best Buy. Maybe that's why some electronic stores are no longer in business.

How to connect fire stick to get surround sound through avr?

Thanks for quality information Chris. Had a doubt though.
If my soundbar setup supports Dolby Atmos while my TV does not have Dolby Atmos in it. And I connect the soundbar to TV via HDMI eARC (supported on both of them). Will I be able to experience true atmos?
    Thanks

We just bought a 4k TV with fire tv built in to watch while on the treadmill. We are not hooking up to cable just using the fire tv apps. I know I can't achieve 4k over wifi. Our home has google fiber gigabit internet. I have an apple airport extreme router near the treadmill. Will I achieve 4k if I connect a 20 foot cat 5 or 6 cable from the tv to that router? Thanks for the video's.

I thought that 4K was 4 times the resolution of HD as both the horizontal and vertical resolutions are doubled. Also another option for long distance HDMI is to use HDMI over cat5e/6 which is much cheaper than the alternatives.

Yes, 4k is 4 times Full-HD resolution. Full-HD is 1080x1920 and you double both horizontal and vertical pixels, so 4k is 4 times that 2160 x 3840.

I am using ,Yamaha RX-Z11 Receiver it's about 10 years old but sounding like new with no flaws. My question is am I missing out on different things while running a older receiver. Everything else is new , Sony UBP -X1000 , SAMSUNG 8 SERIES UHD TV , Along with the klipsch speakers and sub . I enjoy my Yamaha receiver and with all this technology moving so fast I hate the idea that I am missing out on different hook ups , and not receiving the best sound or picture because my receiver is out of date . Thanks for the videos , they are coming in very handy for me and I am sure many others . Great job thanks for your time and sharing the videos .

I have a question. If I install a HDMI Wall outlet. Would it affect the HDMI cables performance? It wouldn’t be a long distance problem. Since the tv and wall outlet are close together.
    Example.
Xbox One S -HDMI-> Wall HDMI Outlet -HDMI-> Wall HDMI Outlet -HDMI-> 4K TV
Assuming all these HDMI cables support 4K HDR
Would this many HDMI cables affect the performance?
If not, I’ll just drill a hole and use one cable to directly connect the devices through the wall.

Hi! Great video. Lots of really good information. I wonder why I am getting the hdcp error all of a sudden? Up until a few days ago everything was working fine up all of my devices were compliant with one another and then out of the clear blue sky this error start popping up???? I've tried putting it in different ports I've even tried switching out the cables with the cable from another that I have been using on another device in another room and even switched out two rokus; nothing's working. What do I do?
