The Bar analogy fits perfectly with Doc's situation. - The bar 'allows' a minor to enter and use the service of the premise - Doc bought drinks for the minor - The bar and other people got hold of the minor's true age - Shit hit the fans Hence why Twitch went for settlement when Doc sued them. If Doc already knew the true age and still conversing with the minor, why would Twitch be afraid to go public and be clean of any guilt and charges? Twitch settlement is the key here imo. Why did twitch pay out and sit on this for all this time... why did they settle? Did he know they were underage beforehand? I saw an email saying he didn't know but who knows if that was real. Almost certainly the terms of the settlement with Twitch included an NDA that prevented him or Twitch from saying anything publicly. Now that two EX-Twitch employees have said things publicly, the NDA is void and either or both sides can speak freely if they want.
@@AccolonnTV I agree with you that we will never have all information but if I was in that situation and I didn't know the age I was would clearly stated that, the same with "no wrong doing has been found" or we "didn't meet". Simple statement I was chatting with her but didn't know her age and cut all communication after I got informed about her age would be much better. When law language is used it's never looks honest just save in case of lawsuit.
This should be a good wake up call to all those who freely do this stuff with strangers. Can't be too paranoid when it comes to the internet when all it takes is for a kid to click "I am 18 or older" just to get into certain websites. What I don't get is what why would someone around my age (30+) be talking to someone that young? With an age gap that big what can you even talk about? There's no way to relate with them when the gap is that big it's less awkward to just not engage with them at all.

I knew a 23-ish guy who had a Skype relationship with a girl who lied about her age, right up until the day he Skyped her and her father answered instead, told him she was really 15 and if he ever contacted her again he'd hunt the guy down and end him. Was it the guy's fault for being lied to, or was it his fault for being interested in a girl who told him she was 18, or was it his fault he didn't pick up on the fact he was being lied to? That's part of why this entire thing is confusing. Some parts hint that he did know, others that he didnt. Without the transcripts we will never know.
