So, to symbolically put the Early Access version to rest, ride along with Endnight Games lead tester, Evan Haley, as he sees how speedrunners were breaking the game before the Sons of the Forest full release.

One minute in and my immediate thought was "hes strafing, it must be faster. just like in GoldenEye." Hahaha

not if they really took out the ability to climb the mountain. It was easier to go up and over than all the way around.

Also they already made it so you cant just sprint up any mountain
@@tylerschwartz5680 U can still climb. Just have to jump backwards, zipline networks are still a viable method to bypass the mountains.
how does climbing slopes at 120 degree angle and mountain free climbing pass the quality tests?

This is a glitched run post-patch 01 (after they removed book sliding) on hard difficulty.
P.s. I found all the stick skips from 4:20 to 4:56.

Why patch out speed run strats if the normal player wont ever use them?
well, you can make run more interesting by closing easy routes
Because it's a glitch or a bug. Speed runners are abusing them for faster runs, but they're not supposed to be there at all. A game dev doesn't want you to be able to break their game whether intentional or not.

This is not a surprise. Game has no story. You can go to rebreather then zipline and then shovel in rapid order. Game is over before it even starts. No base needed unless you're an architect and not a gamer.
Really couldn't get into Sons of the Forest. The Forest is still the best one

First of all it's 8 minutes. Second: it's not a speed run, it's just glitching to one of the final sequences. Sorry for being the party pooper, but game doesn't end in that cube 🤷🏻♂️
Game did end in that cube in EA. In Release build they added boss battle on the beach

Only kids speedrun games. Nobody plays Sotf for story. It's a crafting/survival game. That is the core of the popularity of the game.

Rewarding Glitch playthroughs and branding them as "Speedrun" feels a bit offensive if not a downright slap on the face to those who actually abide by the game's laws.
