Just FYI since this guy isnt really doing these justice. Once you get these out in the wild, with no amibent light like he has in this video, you wont be able to see further than 20-30ft clearly. These are glorified digital camera sensors on a PVS14 housing. These units need supplemental IR light to see well so you will need a IR flashlight or something to illuminate wherre you are looking. Also the refresh rate on these can cause motion sickness.

Obviously these have drawbacks. But for the price they could have their use especially like the ad said. During camping or airsoft ( with a more stable mount) and deff a cheaper way to see with night vision style devices. At the end of the day I'd say for this device a sturdy mount is a must and learn about nvg so you know the pros and cons this has and if it would suit your needs.

You can pick up a Gen 3 pvs-14 for like 1800-2000 all day (just put one together with mounts and all right under 1600 using a blem free omni 8 aviation tube), digital NV isn't worth it and useless in a tactical sense since your throwing ir light everywhere, thermal on the other hand is different but that has a different purpose

Military night vision is better because it doesn't need an infrared flashlight to work, the infrared flashlight would give away the users position to anything with an infrared cameras or night vision, like other soldiers with NODs, tanks, drones, jets, ifvs and so on
The real stuff works way better in low light conditions. This example is filmed during the day. Also latency on analog tends to make people sick if it's used helmet mounted instead of on a static position.
