22:48 I trained an acting while in film school, and the technique we learned was based on getting non-actors to deliver professional level performances. Sir, you are an actor.
Your videos are truly exceptional!, The quality and color grading are some of the best I've seen. It's a shame that more people haven't discovered your talent yet you definitely deserve more views! Keep enjoying your craft and pouring your passion into it. I believe that one day you'll get the recognition and success you deserve. Keep up the amazing work!
Love the breakdown, looking forward to the rest of the BTS. Man, I wish we lived closer, I'm also working through making films entirely solo, and love the same themes.
I'm only partway through but this is such valuable work and insight man keep it up PS @ 9:50 regarding code not making sense, as a former computer science student, don't worry because even "working" code doesn't always look like it makes sense either lol 😄👍
@@allen_bernardo_jr ah, so glad to hear that, brother! I'm a bit of a rambler so I'm stoked there's some value in there. Re code, lol 😆 that's awesome.. 😅 phew
Beautiful Scott. Going through this breakdown I could feel each of those nods to their respective directors. Amazing. But Also.. I can definitely see your style becoming more apparent. Truly enjoyed the film and breakdown.
Thank you so much, Matt! That's great to hear that I have my own style. It's amazing how much others influence you; your own voice eventually starts to emerge regardless. Great feeling. Thanks for the kind words, my friend
This video is amazing!!! Full disclosure, I haven't watched it yet. It hasn't even been up long enough for me to have seen the whole thing, but you have my full faith. When I get a chance to actually watch it later, I'm sure it'll deliver. Keep on trucking.

Sorry to be the one to tell you this as this content is so good but the idea of a time machine not being able to go back before it was made is the original time machine story. H.G. Wells The Time Machine, been remade a few times in movies since the 60s. A scientist looses his fiancé in a tragic accident and invents a time machine to save her but can’t go back to save her and ends up traveling to the future instead.
@@Itsallastunt ah true haha. One of the most iconic (if not the most) time travel stories of all time 😂. Yeah, to my memory nothing came to mind. Dang it. Good point though.
@@ScottJeschke But it would be interesting if you step through the Time Machine and the door disappears stranding you? I mean, it's a different story - but from the technical aspects of the story, it would be interesting?
@cogmission1 love that. Funny enough, that was going to be the original mid point twist or possible darker ending. I had a bigger concept related to that idea of him being stranded in time, but I needed to simplify for this particular project
Thank you so much! So it's actually a transmitter for the Hollyland Pyro S, which connects to the wireless monitor, the Pyro 7 that I am using. The film was originally going to be a part of a bigger video about that, but unfortunately, it had to be delayed due to inventory. They should have them in mid December though when the video drops. bhpho.to/3CmDr4l amzn.to/4fuYlNr
so you haven't made a feature film yet? whats stopping you? not saying my films are any good, but holy shit, what is stopping you????? i was where you are currently at in 8th grade. made my first 30 min, then in 9th grade made my first 60 min , and 10 grade made my first 90 min feature.... granted they all suck... but who cares... make your first feature!!! even if it sucks. make it.
@@marcuskoch39 technically I made a feature doc in college. I don't count it though. the main barrier for me is financing. I finally have a no budget idea that I'll likely pull the trigger on this year, but in terms of raising 100k you really only get one shot initially. So the first one better be good. I've seen this happen where people make mediocre or bad lower budget movie after mediocre or bad movie and eventually no one gives them money again. So for me, I know my first one doesn't need to be Citizen Kane, but it needs to be good enough that I'm proud of it, and it can be a stepping stone to the next one. Another aspect is that of the seven features I've written... They're all too expensive.
@@ScottJeschke i suck at the finding money part, but i'm ok with shooting no budget movies, specifically no budget horror movies, there is a crazy following for micro budget horror movies, and a resurgences of movies, especially shot on old VHS camcorders, its its whole own Genre.
@@marcuskoch39 yeah, I've a bit fallen out of love with horror over the past few years. Although, the no budget feature I'm working on is sci-fi with horror elements.
@@ScottJeschke just watched your TOTALITY short, that was great ! i wish i would have gotten the sonyFX3 instead of the black magic 6K pro, few months ago tried to shoot a new feature for 5k, got the 6K pro, first day of shooting went good, second day the camera stopped working, no idea what happened. .. B&H thankfully replaced it, with a new one, but now its a matter of trying to get everyone's schedules to re align
@marcuskoch39 re TOTALITY, thanks so much 🙏 Re the BM6K PRO, holy smokes. That must've been a nightmare. I can't imagine losing your camera day one on a feature. FX3 is awesome. I used to be obsessed with cameras, and track all the latest releases like everyone else, just because nothing quite was cutting the mustard in the prosumer market. After I got the fx3 I just lost interest all together. It's not perfect, but it does everything I needed to, and has a great image. I think the 6K Pro probably has a much better image, But the fx3 is just so flexible for different kinds of productions. And for solo work like this, there's just nothing like it. I'm for sure shooting my no budget feature on it
