Description: In 1927, Maharaja Jagatjit Singh had ruled his state of Kapurthala for fifty years. Lavish feasts were given in honour of his jubilee attended by the principal Maharajas of Punjab, Kashmir and Rajasthan, as well as personalities of the English crown such as Viceroy Lord Irwin. In addition to entertainment such as garden parties, the main ceremony was that of the durbar during which princes and vassals paid homage to the Maharajah.

Just finished reading book of Coralie Younger 'Wicked women of the Raj' very fascinating stories of indian Maharajas lifestyle, ( including Jagjit Singh and his son ) and their obsession for western women (specially from low profile status) and how these women trying fit in with royal family and miserably fail, how they have been outcasted by both British & indian royal fraternity.
