wow part 5c already
Great update Foxx. Are you planning to decant the insignia white from the rattle cans to your airbrush or will you be using an alternative white? Looking forward to episode eight!
Foxx says: I don't decant rattlecans, if I use a rattlecan it is to take advantage of their massive and fast coverage and to avoid hours and hours trying to airbrush a large model. In the end though, having said all that, October and ALL THE WEATHER happened, so I didn't even get to THINK about using rattlecans and had to airbrush it anyway ^_^
Just bought this kit space 1999 fan (70s kid) so your videos will come in handy I've ordered most of the paint what primer should I get I'm a newbie not built a kit for yrs thanks
Depends if you are airbrushing or rattle-canning it. Foxx will be priming and painting in part 8, which should be up in the next hour or so, so keep an eye out for that. He says his favourite airbrush primer is UMP primer, which is a doddle to use and self-levels beautifully. If you don;t have an airbrush, you'll want to look at rattle-can primers, and by far the best are the Tamiya primers (or, if you really need black, the Army Painter cans are good). Just make sure to use rattle-cans OUTDOORS when it is dry and not too cold.
Have you had any ideas about making some sides from cardboard for your spray booth to make it bigger so you can fit it in? as long as you have the sides and top, bottom to it i think it should work, its worth a try.
I have actually done that before, I might do (depends how lazy I feel lol)
When you were doing the various "greebles", many of them were 1/48 scale Revell Gemini capsule parts, like the astronauts. They did produce a 1/48 version used in e.g. the "Gus Grissom Memorial Combo".
Foxx says "Correct, and If I remember correctly I called out the figures in one of these episodes as being reproductions of the Gemini kit parts, which is why they look like Gemini astronauts and not Eagle pilots :)"
You did, but a whole load of other details on the kit were also 1/48 Revell Gemini part.
Did you guys do the 1999 tune at the beginning? Funny.
Yup! Two very tiring days of mouth noises ^_^
