She looks good, but not $30 good considering she comes with next to nothing. Meanwhile tim Drake comes with 10 hands and has more new/retooled parts at $22.

No extra hands, worthless card holder, and some blobs of snot to cover her hands. Crappy Todd Flight Stand. I think that about covers what your 30 bucks gets ya.
I always like gesturing to classic Riddler as well in terms of value for price point. Lots of hands in a variety of poses and the cane not being molded into them is always a good thing. I don't necessarily mind retooling, it's a given for any toyline.
I really think that the Collector Edition choices usually fall into 1 of 3 buckets
-"This figure requires too much new stuff that we can't reuse, so we have to make it more expensive" (Penguin, Sinestro, Sgt. Rock, Firestorm, Captain Boomerang)
-"This Character or version of a character is a little too niche for this to be a mainline release" (Captain Carrot, Manga Batman, Action Comics #1 Superman)
-"We didn't want to make a ton of these for whatever reason, so we will make a low print run" (Connor Kent, Wonder Woman, Starfire, Alan Scott Green Lantern)
I get your main points, but Sinestro used bunch of Kyle Raynar parts. Firestorm was mostly new but there’s some page punchers Superman parts in there. Captain Boomerang has re-use from grifter.
That is what’s maddening about this line. There’s a lot more re-use than people realize and there’s definitely more re-use than 2020 McFarlane figures. There’s really no excuse not to load up every figure with like 10 hands.
@@hatswitchstudiosOh yeah, I agree, there's still a ton of reuse in the Collector's Edition line, but I think a lot of the choices for characters boil down to those three choices, and Starfire def falls into the "we don't want to make a large number of this character for some reason" pool, which is really annoying imho.
youre deluding yourself. hes done way more obscure characters in normal lines over the years. hes making certain figures collectors edition to price gouge, he knows people want starfire to complete teen titans and he knew people wanted wonder woman. hes a grifter, he tells us that people dont buy female figures while they are selling out first. look at poison ivy and supergirl
Oh there's also "mostly repaint with perhaps a handful of new parts depending on the figure" re. things like the Patina editions of characters, I think Midnighter, and Catman. However, Catman is arguably also niche seeing as he was last relevant while wearing that costume about 15, 16 years ago. [I miss Gail Simone's Secret Six. I miss it so much.] And re. Penguin - doesn't he use most of the Arkham City body?
Curious as to how Sgt. Rock will be given the WB plastic gun ban.
@@hatswitchstudios I do get a bit tired of having to look for extra hands on eBay, very few people are willing to cover shipping and shipping to me usually ends up tacking on another $8-10.
The best thing about the Starfire, Wonder Woman and Supergirl figures is that they show McFarlane that female figures do sell when you make ones people actually want.
Tell that to all the Injustice 2 Supergirl and Flashpoint WW warming the shelves 😂😂😂

they trimmed the edge of the diaper piece on starfire which helps a lot with articulation and was something that drove me nuts on knightfall cat
I don't have any Nightwing figures from McFarlane but I do love this Starfire because she is beautiful and really cool especially with that design along with power effects I don't have her but she is still badass though.
3:02 do you need any other answer than “because she’s a female character”? McFarlane doesn’t do female characters justice or put respect on their figures.
I wonder if she's going to be like the Wonder woman one they did and I'll never find her.

@@5POAFigureReviews I was shocked too! I have the order in so I have my fingers crossed they follow though. I did order her on Best Buy last night if anyone needs her she was in stock.
At that price point, with that amount of reuse, they should have at the very least given us a smiling face plate for her.
I can see why with all the hair they wouldn't do two complete heads, but yeah I don't see why they couldn't do more swappable heads with removable hair. It's been done.
She is going for a very good price. Here in Australia we are paying $60 for her. I wish we could get here for $40 $50.

I honestly don't get why she's a collectors edition considering the reuse and the fact she's a fan favorite character. Honestly I've been waiting with baited breath for a 2003 cartoon Titans line, we got a Cyborg that worked early in the line but for some reason they quit doing cartoon figures.
To create an artificial feeling of scarcity and FOMO, probably. I still haven't physically seen this wave even within several hours of my house, and it was impossible to preorder anything what with how fast Starfire and Penguin in particular got snapped up.
It's a little sad that this Starfire is WAAAY outta scale. Might use her for my 6in display

The head is ok but is too small figure. Real Starfire is same tall than Superman. Taller than Wonder Woman. But this figure is small respect rest ones.

I’m sad to say but people can’t seem to realize Todd McFarlane and this line of toys hasn’t been consumer-friendly for over a year now. High prices, thoughtless reuse where it doesn’t even make sense, producing smaller quantities to drive up PERCEIVED demand, not updating the engineering anymore (pinless? ab crunch?) etc.
You can hate me all you want, I’m just saying how it is.

I don't get the obession with pinless, it is really not a big deal and low priority issue because it does not provide anything in terms of functionality, only minor improve in aesthetic, and major downgrade in term of figure repair and customization. As for improvement, newer figs are using double ball peg instead of single (the reason why ab crunch hasn't improved much is because american toys use softer PVC so they can't do the hollow out design as good as the Japanese toys, because joints are going to pop out all the time. This is the same issue that Hasbro has, their ball joints torso generall has even less range than mcfarlane, but at least the new spinmaster fig is doing great on this so far), and wired cape, which is pretty big deal.
Collectors edition is too expensive for me to collect. And he’s putting essential characters in that line

For an Evolution, I normally want at least 20 or so figures at least, and there aren't that many of her. That said, I could always try a different format if I wanted to track them all down.
I do hoped you can review the batman arkham knight prestige suit variant figure and compare him next to superman hush, page punchers and TDKR bucks to see if he fits within them pal
No plans on that one, sorry. It's just a repaint of Arkham Knight and I am happy with the one I already have. If I did those comparison shots with the regular one so you can see how they scale, would that be ok?

Great review. I agree she as a figure doesn’t justify the price point. McFarlane knows we need her for our TT display so they are price gouging us to complete it. Unfortunately I do not have the willpower to resist.

@@5POAFigureReviews agreed. I’m solidly invested in the Legends line, too. I like 1/12 over 1/10 most of the time, and while it would be great to have equally-scaled Marvel, DC and movie figures (I’m thinking of NECA), I’m honestly not sure that I’d be up for such a tectonic shift. But McFarlane would make some great figures
I'd love Justice League figures that aren't the ones we have which are based off the Justice League Unlimited cartoon. Of course, there's not a lot of demand for that. :(

This 8s a really great release it should had been in the main line and her sister as the Collectors edition.
Yeah, even if it meant losing the flight stand I wish she was a mainline release. As for Blackfire, as far as I am concerned all these Platinum Editions should be decently stocked store exclusives instead. Chase figures were fun in the 90s when brick and mortar was your only option and figures were $8. These days it's more stress than it's worth

Another golden rule for upcharging on collectibles.. nerds be pervs. And that doesn't exclude me, lol. I skipped all the Titans (cuz I wasn't digging the modernization), but this was an insta-buy.
In hindsight, I kind of regret getting the Titans wave apart from Nightwing, and even then def not my fav figure of him

The only downside personally is the lack of a smiling face and birdarang.
As I have been saying, Todd is Plucking us, Their has been several release that are not worth the sticker price then turn around and see other DC multiverse going for less and with more accessories. I don't understand what the issue is they have had time to fix the issues if their really trying to fix anything or just get our money for Trash.

No reasons realy. Its a champ that everybody want. Althouth MCfarlane did it no tall enough. Starfire is taller tha Wonder Woman, same than Superman. Only Apokalisis Furys as Big Barda are taller than she. Figure is too small.
Nope, not even close to worth it. I’m fact, I went to GameStop and cancelled my pre-order for this figure as well as The Penguin and switched it to Marvel Legends Superior Spider-Man, which is actually worth the price point.
